John McCain has finally told the truth about why he chose Sarah Palin for his VP. While appearing on Fox News with Chris Wallace, Wallace asked McCain "isn’t it true that she is a drag on your campaign?"

Without a hint of irony or recognition McCain answers "as a cold political calculation I could not be more pleased…" He then went on to say "She is a direct counterpoint to the liberal feminist agenda for America." He finished with "she is the best thing that could have happened to my campaign and to America."

I knew that McCain is a misogynist. I knew that he has little use for women beyond money (theirs) and sex. Now we know that he likes THIS woman because she will work to put OTHER women back into a box and deny us our rights. In the weird, it’s okay for me but not for you logic that fill Republican minds, it is okay for Palin to be a woman in high office but other women (think Democrats, Independents, Atheists, Liberals) would not be allowed to participate. Republicans only like women who will carry their water and do their bidding. Republican women are not allowed to speak without clearing it through the men, they are not allowed to lead without a script, they are not allowed independent thought. But they sure pretty up the place don’t they?
