Just a random thought: Fox News (News Corp.) is owned by Australian Rupert Murdoch, who has a Chinese wife. How is it that conservatives and the GOP don’t find this odd. If the tables were turned, and a liberal-leaning station was owned by foreign-born nationals/non-American citizens, wouldn’t the right be going insane? Fox News isn’t just anti-American (by being so-anti President Obama), it’s un-American.
FOX News is owned by an Aussie. Isn’t that un-American? |

Murdocjh became a naturalized US citizen in l984, although he did so, pretty clearly, to circumvent the issues relating to foreign ownership of media outlets.
There’s some who doubt he surrendered his Oz citizenship, but I haven’t seen strong evidence of that.
Wendy Deng was born and raised in Xuzhou, Jiangsu in the PRC. She attended local Xuzhou No. 1 Middle School. During her secondary school, Deng’s father moved to Guangzhou to work at the People’s Machinery Works. Later she rejoined her father in Guangzhou, commencing medical school.
Deng applied to and was accepted at Yale University’s Business School. An MBA, she became a Vice President of Murdoch’s News Corporation’s STAR TV in Hong Kong in the 1990s and more recently a director of the holding company that licenses the MySpace brand and technology to China.
I don’t begrudge Murdoch owning Fox News, or have a problem with his wife being from China. I’m just stunned by the guilt by association hypocrisy of right wingers. They consider Barack Obama un-American because he had a Kenyan father he hardly knew. They consider him to be Muslim because he has distant Muslim relatives. I do dislike Murdoch for being so cynical and profit-motivated that he has no problem undermining everything the United States stands for because it’s good for his business. If a foreign-born person or foreign-owned entity ran a liberal-oriented network the right-wing would be accusing it of trying to destroy America.
