“Cameron Whitten: Hungry For Justice”
The Hunger Strike 4 Housing Justice in Portland, OR is still going strong. I did a fly-by yesterday and Cameron isn’t giving up on the power of the people to find good solutions to the problems millions face in our cities but really shouldn’t.
So, let’s get it started! Here’s a backgrounder (all prior related posts are daisy chained) in case you are new to the conversation. What’s going on in your community to solve the housing crisis?

We all know what are all the moving parts to our collective crises and how they fit together. American Alexa O’Brien (@carwinb) and Londoner Kai Wargalla (@KaiWargalla) will be joining tomorrow’s teleconference on NDAA and The Future of Dissent (click link for more details). This meeting is open to anyone – liaison, occupier, or otherwise – who wants to join this discussion and share their opinions on the NDAA.

The week before Christmas, the mayor in my community evicted all of the residents of tent city to the streets.
Your mayor owned by bankstas much?
LOL! Goes without sayin’…
Goodness, where are my manners? rec’d.

…and I complained until I met a man who had no stars. No Venus or Mars!
The Roches sure have their unique, hilarious way of making a point and have been making me laugh for years. Glad you enjoy their sense of humor.
Hard to tell. Our New England town has a new committee on “housing and sheltering.”
Its establishment followed the Town Select Board’s termination, for reasons unclear to me, of a separate shelter committee.
The shelter committee had operated a sit-up-all-night winter “warming place” in a local church. That effort seems to be continuing.
At least, this past winter, our local, non-profit survival center was not canvassing for donations of tents for the homeless. A couple of winters ago, it was doing so.
Perhaps this is progress.
Day 49: Cameron’s night was not good. Send good energy. Call city dudes and speed up action!
Thank you for the info, greenharper. It would be great to know more especially for an area that gets ice and snow. Off the cuff, it appears that stray critters get better treatment than the humans. Not that I think that stray critters shouldn’t be treated with respect and kindness but my point is that humans need more.
It’s all starting to blur together a bit. ;-) 49 days “Hungry for Justice” today!
