We are blessed to have such rad, badass peace and justice activists rebutting the fundamental, false premises of the Rat Race! The roots of the dysfunctions of our community can be addressed. There’s no point in delaying your action in support and there’s a multiplicity of ways to do it. You know what to do!

This is what Day 52 of a Hunger Strike for Justice looks like.
It’s arrived— day 53! Huxley has an update here.
David Dayen reports that it’s the same ol’ same ol’ with the bankstas who still want to exist courtesy of a rigged system that is predicated upon unequal relationships enforced by might, deception, theft and murder. As long as the system stays intact, temporary symbolic concessions will be countenanced for bankstas to stay in position and keep the scam going at any cost but the nature of the system still unchanged (e.g. the Spanish government’s continued secrecy about its inter-operation with the failed confidence game of an international banking system which informs the impasse between it and the Mondragon cooperative).
Portland, OR has a gini index (0.479) very near that of Baton Rouge, LA (0.486) which HuffPo selected as the 10th of the 10 US cities with the worst income inequality (see “Half Of American Households Hold 1 Percent Of Wealth“). You can use ProPublica.Org’s online tool to see the ranking down to the zip code of your area.
From “American cities as unequal as African and Latin American cities according to
UN-HABITAT’s new State of the World’s Cities Report 2008/9: Harmonious Cities“:

Okay, I am like sooooooooooo late to this post.
But, why is this not on the front page of FDL? Huh?
Thank you for all you do, Mzchief. There are only a few brave souls on the streets compared to our global population. Those that work endlessly behind the scenes are equal in number to those on the streets. You make up two positions! Keep up doing what you do to better the lives of people.
TY for your kind words, PeasantParty. @BillMoyers et al point out that city councils like that of the Rose City can create a lot of rectification right now if they just act (my bold):
Anyone can weigh in directly with @MayorSamAdams. After all, #TheWorldIsWatching!
Thank you, mzchief!
Recommended to everyone at FDL …

Heh. TY for stopping by and all help to get the word out is appreciated. Shout it, Blog it, Tweet it … help us roll past the tipping point!
What it looks like to be on Day 53 of a Hunger Strike:
Raising funds for PDXer who got towed while supporting #PDXHunger. Retrieving vehicle cost $218. If you can, any donations appreciated. Thanks in advance!
