President Obama addressed the nation at a joint session of Congress last night and laid out his plan for health care reform. Today he is writing to voters to ask for our help, "Change this big will not happen because I ask for it. It can only come when the nation demands it. Congress knows where I stand. Now they need to hear from you."
Use this link to send a note to your Congressperson and Senators in support of health care reform. Use the comment box to ask for a bill with a strong public option and no triggers such as, "I support the president’s plan with a strong public option and no triggers. Deliver your vote with these elements and you can count on mine."

I did it… But I didn’t contribute afterward. When my next check comes, I’ll be giving some $ here instead. I want to make sure Jane & the rest of the team can keep fighting for real reform.

I’d rather spend it on FDLs health care reform effort and Emptywheel’s investigative blogging, whose articles along with Jane’s, have kept me well informed about what our elected officials and health care companies are up to. I need some detail from the president, or congress, or the insurance industry, or whoever is reponsible for “the preisdents HCR plan”..know what i mean? like, whats going to “keep insurance companies honest” now that the PO isnt that important? i read that as “keeping insurance companies honest” just isnt that important to the president anymore.

I sent a note to my Congresspeople and Senators in support of True health care reform. Specifically I asked if they would support TRUE tort reform, not some bullshit test program like BO kinda sorta proposed last night.
I also asked them all if they would be fixing it so ‘we the people’ would have the same choices in healthcare that they do?

Oh yea, I asked them about this: In an interview on the program “Al Punto,” Your White House Director of Hispanic Media Luis Miranda acknowledged that coverage would not be provided to illegals. Then he immediately added, “Precisely because of that we are working for reform of immigration laws.” Presto-change-o, problem solved, with coverage for all those formerly illegal immigrants.
Good Luck, one of the Congress people told on television that they can hardly get a letter because of terrorism their mail is so ruined they would be lucky to get a stamp. On top of that they don’t get what you send to them, because staff opens everything, and chucks only what they think is positive. Congress has long ago became our deciders, rather than our representatives. All though they talk our what their people want, they only care about what they think. Our influence is almost nill, yet as fools we still think we can infuence them. Talking to rocks will get You farther. Congress is this Country biggest danger. They have created every problem we have, and not fixed one. Good Luck.
