Bookburning USA: Obama’s Traitor Troops Trash OWS Library as his EPA Awards Book-Burners for Outstanding Recycling — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)
According to two of President Obama’s most consistent supporters [Michael Moore and Keith Olbermann], the storm troopers who swept into Occupy camps yesterday Torturing protesters across the country were doing so under President Obama’s direction.
They clubbed and gassed peaceful protesters, destroyed their homes (shredded tents), and threw their world-famous library into dump trucks – garbage trucks. None of these Traitors who took part in these Acts of War against the American people has yet been charged or arrested.
When Rachel Maddow on MSNBC showed photos of some of the books displayed by the NYPD (Nazi York Police Department), she noted that the photo had prompted Occupy Wall Street librarians to ask “Where are the rest of our books?”
And, to rub our nose in his destruction of our books, and in his destruction of our Rights, last week President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) praised book-destruction company Better World Books and presented it with the EPA’s WasteWise Small Business Partner of the Year Award.
(What does the P in EPA stand for anyway? The EPA is P-ing on us again.)
The last time I reported on Better World Books’ disgraceful practice, they insisted that I let people know that they did not actually burn the thirty-five million books they’ve destroyed so far. The company did not tell me how they do destroy the books.
If the chosen method of book destruction is recycling it into paper, then an environmentally destructive coagulant must be purchased from DuPont in order to process that gathered paper scrap back into wood-pulp paper. In such cases, DuPont (a company whose CEO regularly meets with the President) profits off every book. DuPont is the worst climate and pollution villain on the planet. VP Joe Biden has for decades enjoyed a cozy relationship with DuPont, the largest tax payer in his home state of Delaware.
Book Burning USA Better World Books collects used books from universities, libraries and elsewhere, then destroys 50% of them, to make the enterprise profitable.
You’ll see in the interview below from Bloomberg TV that the fake hippie CEO of Better World admits destroying half of the 70 million books the company collected.

You know who else destroyed books?
Of course we do. And tears were falling down my face reading your great post. Hopeless anger and frustration.
To hell with Obama and the Democratic ass his mother rode in on.
Micheal Moore is running from the truth, cuz any decent person knowing how Obama is harming Americans wouldn’t go on the TV & then advocate
voting for Obama.
WTF is he thinking….folks go take a look at the video of Moore saying to Olberman essentially “I dont like what Prez Obama is doing but I am going to vote for him”.
Classic case of BWS(Battered Wife Syndrome).
“It tells me that goose-stepping morons like yourself should try reading books instead of burning them.”

OWS Library update:
“I’m here to pick up our books,” said librarian Betsy Fagin.
“We had between 4,000 and 5,000 books and have no idea how many are actually upstairs.”
As she entered the depot, she held a catalog in her hands that logged the title of every book donated to the movement. She exited with a cart load of literature.
When asked if all the titles were there she curtly replied: “Not by a long shot.”

Yeah, they’re terrible people, those Better World Books folks. Lets see, they:
1. Believe that education and access to books are basic human rights.
2. Help fund high-impact literacy projects in the United States and around the world.
3. Commit to matching every purchase on the website with a book donation to someone in need – Book for Book™
4. Offer default free shipping worldwide, every order is carbon balanced with Green-e Climate certified offsets from 3Degrees, which is a certified green power and carbon balancing service provider. The carbon offset program covers all emissions associated both with shipping and our company’s other operations and activities.
5. Support book drives and collect used books and textbooks through a network of 2,300+ college campuses and partnerships with 3,000+ libraries nationwide.
6. Have converted more than 58 million books into over $10.4 million in funding for literacy and education.
7. Have diverted more than 40,000 tons of books from landfills.
8. Have donated over 5.5 million books to programs around the world. Their five primary literacy partners are Books for Africa, Room to Read, Worldfund, the National Center for Family Literacy, and Invisible Children.
8. Raised over $10 Million for literacy &libraries.
9. Have saved over 66.5 Million books from the fate discussed by the OP. This is approximately 40,000 Tons of books.
Many library discards are in extremely poor condition, I find it hard to blame them for recycling (Not burning) these books. BWB has a rare and collectable books section. In light of this, I find it extremely difficult to believe that a Shakespeare (or any other book) worth “Hundreds of Dollars” would be maliciously destroyed.
Who is Better World Books? from Better World Books on Vimeo.
I’ve seen what are discarded. They are mainly useable, but not salable for profit. When they base their profit model on book-burning, I find their position abominable and indefensible.
It’s analogous to Obama having a nice smile and talking well, yet claiming that he is allowed to order killings. Better World Books says they do some nice things, but they are monsters, devastating this country’s and the world’s store of collective knowledge.
I hope they are stopped and their awful enterprise dismantled.
I will continue to purchase 3 for $10 books. And I would like to see their “awful enterprise” succeed and prosper. Comparing them to 0 is total bullshit.
I’ve read the links to their corporate propaganda. Unconvincing.
I’m sad for you then. The only way a poor person can build a good library, is thru an outfit such as BWB.
Being as you detest BWB so much, please tell me a good (IE, cheap) alternative? I respect your opinions, and have always enjoyed your posts. But I simply cannot afford to purchase new books-save the occasional read which I simply must have. I budget $30 for books & they help my limited funds go much further. As a poor pensioner, it gets destitute around here during the last week (or two) before I receive my check.
