A New York Times reporter revealed that President Obama and Mitt Romney (Obama’s 2012 Presidential Election Fraud co-conspirator) shook them down, and demanded and received Bribes from the Times, the Washington Post, and Bloomberg News. The Bribe is that the Times, the Post, Bloomberg, and many other media outlets Bribe Obama (and his partner Romney) by letting them censor news stories. Obama claims “We don’t Torture,” but he belies that by refusing to investigate or prosecute Torture. Woodward exaggerated; Politico doubled down on the exaggeration; and the exaggerated story spread like wildfire, but who cares?
Although it’s no surprise, it matters that Politico and other media again betrayed a rightist slant and absolutely no regard for facts.
The Woodward and Sperling thing itself, however, does not rise to the level of a playground fight between two spoiled kids with overblown opinions of their own respective importance.
The bigger stories in the email exchange are that (a) contrary to Obama’s public statements, the administration never disagreed with Woodward’s claim that the administration initiated the sequestration; and (b) Obama wanted to force both Republicans and Democrats to cut social safety nets.
Those two simple facts show again (1) how easily and often America’s President lies to Americans and (2) what a Trojan horse Obama is, not at all the lesser of two evils.
Those things matter very much. Sperling and Woodward, not so much.

Lemme see. A few days ago Bob Woodward was a CIA operative. Now he’s a progressive hero who is being intimidated. Some people can’t resist picking up any whip they can find in an attempt to flog the President, even adopting John Boehner’s talking points.
A mutual blackmail plot is, uh, mutual. Woodward knows that history. He’s just pissed that he got called on it. He figures he brought down one President, why not another.

However high or low one rates Woodward, the person whose office threatened this journalist has been in the midst of a huge and unprecedented killing spree. He appointed a famous Neo-Nazi Mass Murderer [John Brennan] to head the CIA; he appointed the most famous Torturer in the world, John “Don’t Taze Me” Kerry, as Secretary of State; he’s Torturing Bradley Manning for one journalism “crime;” and running a political prosecution of Julian Assange for journalism.
He’s running Show Trials [Kangaroo Courts] and he has already said “We will kill him” of one of the “Defendants.” (As if people in Show Trials actually have the possibility of defending themselves.) Remember, only in Fascist Dictatorships run by insane far-Right thugs do Heads of State criticize or approach journalists over their writing. Show Trials also only happen under Fascist tyranny.
The President’s office threatened a journalist. That requires impeachment.
There are no more elections to win now so it’s time to protect Obama’s, Legacy, by any means necessary.
Oh, come on. You read the emails. The most Woodward was threatened with is loss of access to exclusive leaks. It’s not like Woodward has reported on drones or showtrials or any of the stuff that you and I are critical of Obama for. Woodward is a Village lapdog who has had his fee-fees hurt. He is not a threat to anyone in DC, especially Obama.
You are just trying to feed this non-story into your narrative. It does not work. It doesn’t pass the smell test. Woodward has shown himself to be a egotistical clown by his behavior. Give it up. There are more important and truly troubling things that this administration is doing. Cheap shots divert from that case.
While the Obama Administration was cracking down, at this same time, on Adam Swarz, he was suspiciously found dead. Obama is killing people left and right. Some of those whom he kills are journalists and their children.
No non-Fascist Administration would try to control the press. When a Fascist ruler trying to control the press warns a reporter about publicating a story, you think that is not a Murder threat?
If I as a reporter received a communication from a President who has ordered lots of Murders in the past few months, I would certainly take it as a Murder threat.

You don’t think the village lapdog aspect of the entire story warrants as much exposure as possible? How the American public’s interest is piqued is a topic unto itself, but if the administration is flashing only selective parts of itself, opening up even more of the kimono is not a bad thing.
Yes there are, but the way we hear about them or don’t hear about them is a crucial aspect of understanding them because controlling the message is part and parcel of damage-control and manipulation. It the only way to get the stupified public to notice something is another Punch and Judy episode, so be it.
The public has already missed this one. It is the obsession of the Village chattering classes and certain sections of the blogosphere. And likely will wind up with Woodward losing credibility and going to be a commentator on FoxNews. Woodward was spouting Boehner’s talking points. He got called on it by Sperling. There was no threat because Woodward is not a danger to the Obama administration. Pretending otherwise is a huge stretch.
What the public is noticing is that bankers haven’t gone to jail, jobs are not returning, and Congress is getting paid for doing nothing, sometimes not even showing up for work. That’s where the anger is right now. The public isn’t so much stupefied as resigned that nothing will happen. Juicing the bad news intesifies the resignation.
We need less lying in politics, not more.
I can’t argue with that, except to say that people also need to notice that a giant part of the reason all these things have come to pass is that we have a press that serves the PTB, not us. And that incestuous relationships between the two are not far-fetched conspiracy theories, they are as normal as the rotating doors that keep the Washington/Wall Street/Pentagon machine grinding us up into mince-meat.
And then there’s Obama’s Genocide against the Slaves of Bahrain, and his other Genocide against the Shia citizens of Bahrain. And then there’s his support of Slavery in Bahrain and South Africa and Qatar; and his Genocide against the Christians of Syria, and his Genocide against the Alawites of Syria, and his Genocide against the Black Africans of Libya, and his Genocide against the Sufis of Libya.
