Today Makes or Breaks Jill Stein’s Funding, WWIII, Gl0Warm, Legal Ganja: Get Up – Stand Up: Occupy Your Rights — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

2012 Green Presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, MD, calls for full Legalization of Marijuana and a vibrant Hempen economy in this video from her 2010 Massachusetts Gubernatorial run.

The Jill Stein Green Presidential campaign, A Green New Deal for America, now stands at the crossroads of infinity. Let me elaborate on that first, then I’ll deal with World War III, Global Warming, and Legalizing Marijuana.

Jill Stein could become the first Green Presidential candidate to earn Federal Matching Funds for the campaign. Presidential efforts are so expensive, that if she doesn’t get these Matching Funds, I don’t know if straight people will ever even hear of her. Whether you want to elect a Green, or if you only want to pressure President Obama to do the right thing, or if you just want fairness and democracy in the Presidential Election, your last best chance is hanging by a thread.

Don’t get me wrong: Jill Stein will not quit this campaign. With or without these Matching Funds, she will continue to lead the Greens. And whether or not she gets those funds, I will continue to work hard every day to ensure that she does well in the Election. Because I have been a Journalist and political activist for forty years, and I have never encountered a candidate as right for the job as is Jill Stein.

Dr. Stein has received at least $5,000 in donations in sixteen states, though the site incorrectly reported this morning that they had seventeen. But, it is what it is: We need twenty and we might not get it. We need your help.

If Jill Stein does get $5,000 from potential voters in at least 20 states, her campaign will get over $100,000 at once in Matching Funds. And every contribution dollar that the campaign receives for the rest of the race will be doubled, up to the first $250 from each individual. Considering how much money she still needs to raise Today, getting that funding is still a very tall order. Please help us fill that order today, if you can.

(Of course, any size donation from any state is always welcomed, and needed.) http://www.jillstein.org/funding

Jill Stein has qualified for the Matching Funds in these sixteen states: California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Ohio. She needs four more states. Three more could come over today. The fourth one’s going to be very hard.

If you are in Connecticut, or know someone there who cares about peace, the environment, Human Rights, and/or Legalizing Marijuana, then please get in touch with those persons now, right now. Connecticut looks like that crucial twentieth state that either puts Jill over the top, or almost does. Jill Stein will be speaking in Connecticut today. This morning, we must reach out to people in Connecticut’s Marijuana movement to encourage them to: (1) Go out today and meet the candidate for themselves; (2) Donate to the campaign (she still needs eight people in Connecticut to give $250 each today, or alternatively more people to give less money each); and (3) Sign the petition to get Jill Stein on the ballot in Connecticut.

UPDATE: Jill Stein has qualified now in 19 states, but she need twenty. Arizona, Washington, DC, and Connecticut are the three closest, but they are all quite far away! Please use the internet to help me send this article to Marijuana businesses in Arizona, Connecticut, and DC. We only have 12 hours before the deadline! The latest statistics I have, telling how much is still needed from states to put them over the top, came out about 4:20 pm. Here are the top 3: District of Columbia:  $2,291; Arizona:  $1,465; Connecticut:  $1,249.

North Carolina now needs just one person to donate $250, and another to give $42, or maybe they could just pay $146 apiece. Florida needs two people to contribute the $250. That’s it. Just four people could do it all now in those two states. If you know anybody in North Carolina or Florida, or Connecticut, … or if you know how to use a computer, you can help me reach out to reform-minded groups in those states today, right away, because we’ve got to do this Now! Call your friends, neighbors, and family in the states that are close.

And the other state that’s close is Virginia. Please help me contact reform-minded groups in Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, right away. Maybe we can put both of them over the goal. Virginia needs four people to give $250, and one to give sixty dollars and ten cents. DC needs ten people to give the max and one to pitch in sixty-five dollars and forty-five cents.

You can help by contacting interested groups and people, for instance, through phone or Facebook. The New England states are home turf for Jill Stein, she’s from Massachusetts, but the Green Party isn’t too strong in the rest of New England. However, in all five surrounding states, the Marijuana movement is huge! That’s how you can help. I’ll only be able to get in touch with as many people as humanly possible. I’ll need your help with the rest.

Maine: Maine has a strong Medical Marijuana movement, and a strong [Industrial] Hemp movement, and a strong Legalization movement. Get in touch with as many of them as you can, by sending them this article, to their Facebook page or website.

Rhode Island: Rhode Island Legalized Medical Marijuana, but the Obama Administration ruthlessly cracks down on it there. Contact the Medi-Juana facilities, providers, groups, and organizations about it, and ask them to contact their patients fast!

New Hampshire: The people of New Hampshire want Medical Marijuana. The Obama Administration severely unjustly made a Political Prisoner out of a nurse there over saving lives with MMJ. This is now known colloquially Obama’s Naziesque Drug Policy (ONDP). There is a strong Civil Disobedience movement in New Hampshire (“Live Free or Die”), and people there gather in public downtown to smoke Marijuana and taunt the police. Try to reach any of that if you can.

Vermont: Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) is a Socialist. Vermont has very active Socialist Parties, who can be approached on this – Jill Stein once told me that Socialism doesn’t conflict with her agenda. Vermont also has very active pro-Marijuana Parties, the members of which can be approached, somehow. Northern Vermont, home to the amazingly brilliant Revolutionary Communist Bread and Puppet Circus of giant puppet theatre, is a place where Leftist radicals predominate. They should vote for Stein. (Where else they gonna go?) But our ace in the hole in Vermont is Phish, the non-commercial band that is the world’s highest paid entertainment act – highest paid because their loyal fans want to see them as much as possible. Vermont, especially the Burlington area, is full of Phish fans, Deadheads, drum circles, hippies, and jam bands. They smoke pot, all of ‘em. Help me reach them, we’re running out of time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look; if you can’t see that peace is better than war, militarism, expansionism, confrontation, and enmity; and if you can’t see that Human Rights are better than lack of Human Rights, and that the Green Party is already on the correct side on those issues; well, whoever you are, you probably already know those three things. So, you can see. So, let’s move on to Global Warming.
Cannabis Hemp has the highest biomass of any plant on the planet. That means that more weight of Hemp can be grown per acre or hectare than of any other plant. That means that Hemp is the plant from which the most Alcohol can be made. Alcohol can power internal combustion engines, including the ones in our cars, trucks, buses, and boats. Gasoline can power them too, but Gasoline is made from Petroleum Oil. So, when Gasoline and other Fossil Fuels burn, they emit Carbon Dioxide from the fossilized Carbon in the Oil. But when Ethyl Alcohol – Ethanol – burns, it can only emit the very same Carbon that the Hemp from which it was made recently has sequestered out of the atmosphere, because that’s all the all the Carbon that there is in Alcohol.
Therefore, Hempen fuels cannot emit any Carbon into our air, ever. Hemp is also the richest source of Diesel fuel. I was there when the anti-Global-Warming/pro-Marijuana activist 1991 Kentucky Gubernatorial candidate Gatewood Galbraith showed up with Hempseed oil that he had just expressed with a seed press. He poured it into his standard showroom Cadillac, and drove all over the state, without causing any Global Warming or Oil Wars. He didn’t win that election, but he opened some eyes. And now, the Kentucky Governor opposes Prohibition, and that will be the standard in Kentucky from now on.
Remember, that 0 in Gl0Warm is a zero. If we are not using the highest biomass plant to stop Global Warming, then we are not actually trying to stop Global Warming, are we?
Besides causing Global Warming, getting Gasoline requires dangerous Drilling that risks our land and our water, even as it pollutes our air. No air pollution with Hemp fuels. None. We don’t need new designs for our cars and boats, or even for our power plants. We can still use the same cars and boats and plants that we always have. We just need to put clean fuel in them, which we can get from another plant: Hemp. All Oil Wars are ultimately caused by the ban on Hemp, including the war President Obama is trying to start in Syria. That war is named “World War III.”
Fracking is also dangerous and Pipelines are invasive, and completely unnecessary and irresponsible, since Hemp for energy can be grown anywhere and everywhere. It makes money for American farmers, not multi-national corporations.
The more Petroleum Oil is extracted from the ground, the higher the price gets for Oil and “Natural” Gas, because less remains in the ground. The same for Coal mining: The more we mine, the less Coal is left in the ground, so, the more expensive the Coal gets. But with Hemp fuels, the more we extract, the cheaper it gets. That’s because, the more we produce, the bigger supply we have – not less. (Here are links to information about stopping Global Warming with Hemp.)
A  majority of voters in Massachusetts will definitely vote to Legalize Marijuana in November on the day of the US Presidential Election. Could Jill Stein potentially win Massachusetts? I think she could: Millions of anti-Prohibition voters will be most enthused to vote in Massachusetts and eight other states running Marijuana ballot questions this November. The others are Oregon, Washington, North Dakota, Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, and Arkansas. Marijuana Legalization already lost the two county races seeking to restrict it in California. Prohibition won.
With highly incentivized voters, Jill Stone and the Prohibition Repeal movement actually stand a chance of winning all nine states that have Marijuana on the ballot. And 43 states plus DC are already moving to Legalize Marijuana this year. The 2012 Presidential Election can be a referendum on Marijuana. And the fallout from that could be an era of peace, freedom, and energy independence.
If we frame this Election right, Prohibition Repeal could win, like it did in 1932. Then, the rest of the country could vote to end Prohibition by electing Jill Stein. And if the people actually do elect Jill Stein, we will have voted for Legalizing Marijuana, and, like in 1932, then, we’ll be able to start celebrating with Legal Marijuana that very night! If Jill Stein doesn’t win, you may not be able to celebrate with Legal Marijuana, but I still will: I live in Massachusetts.
In California, the June 5 Elections were both local and countywide: Kern County (Bakersfield) and Butte (Chico) County voted to regulate Marijuana dispensaries. In Bakersfield, the regulation was to strike back at would-be Legalizers who had blocked their previous attempt to ban the dispensaries completely. Chico is a pretty Conservative area, and now they are shown to be something like Nazis: The Right-wing Prohibitionist side won, they voted in their oppressive law, despite the alarm it raised among the Medicating populace there and around the world when a video went viral of a local woman screaming as evil Government Inquisitors took her baby over Marijuana smoking. Governor Jerry “Storm Trooper” Brown strikes again.
http://www.mercurynews.com/medical-marijuana/ci_20741804/butte-countys-marijuana-battle-inflamed-by-taking-newborn
In Chico, in 1998, just after enjoying some excellent Legal Prop-215 Medical Marijuana in San Francisco, my partner and I tried to tell our straight college professor hosts about the scene at Dennis Peron’s Cannabis club down in the Mission, but they wouldn’t hear of it: The male professor corrected us: “They defeated it. They’re not open,” he insisted. There he was, just 138 miles away from the freedom we had just enjoyed. Yet he couldn’t even let himself know about it. Who are you gonna believe; your eyes, or a college professor? http://www.jillstein.org/funding
Massachusetts’ incoming Marijuana law requires that dispensaries open right away. But we knew that, win or lose the Election, Obama would not allow any dispensaries to open. But the law also prevents prosecution of patients and absolutely allows patients to Legally grow Marijuana in case of hardship. And in case of hardship, all Medical Marijuana patients in Massachusetts will legally be allowed to grow, use, and possess Marijuana. And until and unless fully Legal dispensaries open, all Medical Marijuana patients in Massachusetts will be in “hardship.”And there are millions of us. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2012/06/28/30-stoners-can-overthrow-the-government-legalize-freedom-stop-gl0warm-wpresident-jill-stein-but-only-2-days-left-to-do-it/
The Magic Map says 43 States Want Pot Reform; but the Clock says Just 4 Days Left to Repeal Prohibition with President Jill Stein — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)
This story really has some teeth. It should grow some legs. This is an emergency! Lots of lemmings are galloping over the edge of the pier, into the cold sea, but some of us are turning Left instead of falling off, because there is a real alternative. http://www.jillstein.org/funding
As the 1932 US Presidential Election was a referendum on Legalizing Ethanol, the 2012 US Presidential Election will be a referendum on Legalizing Cannabis. We are that close now. Only seven states are not considering Legalizing this year – the other 43 and the District of Columbia are. (Did I say Colombia?!) (Never mind, I guess you’d have to be nearly as old as me to get that joke.)
When the US repealed Alcohol Prohibition in 1933, the voters didn’t have to wait to have a drink until the legislators in their state got around to Legalizing their drug of choice, Ethanol. Most of you know that it was Legalized by a Constitutional Amendment, which repealed another Constitutional Amendment. You may not realize that that repeal process, a series of Article V Constitutional Conventions, took only nine months from the first state (Massachusetts) until the 37th state (Utah) passed the Amendment, making it the law of the land. But still the people didn’t have to wait out that process. Because they had already forced the hand of the politicians. The people had spoken. On the Prohibition issue anyway, the people had taken over!
Prohibition of Ethanol terribly damaged our national and world economy and ecology. It corrupted diplomats, spies, businessmen, politicians, and police. Sound familiar? The Democrats and Republicans were both far-Right-wing Parties at that time. Both tried to keep Prohibition and its high-paying crime and corruption going strong. The Republicans were the Party of Big Business, and the Democrats were the Party of the Ku Klux Klan. Just nine years earlier, in 1924, the largest Klan Rally in history took place, at the Democratic National Convention. Then, five years later, the stock market crashed. Then, the people finally said “No” to the duopoly legacy Parties.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt bucked his own Democratic Party on Prohibition. He announced that he would be having a drink as soon as the law was repealed. But he didn’t have to wait that long. And neither did the voters. In fact, for the Prohibition Repeal of 1933, the celebrants didn’t even have to wait until 1933. Ethanol was de facto Legalized the very next day after the 1932 Presidential Election: The people had spoken: The people elected Roosevelt: The people started legally selling and using their drug of choice, right away, as much as they wanted. We can do the same. Support Jill Stein.
Massachusetts attorney Richard Evans has been instrumental in the Marijuana law reform movement here in Massachusetts. He has prepared a series of historical lectures and presentations on the two Prohibitions, teaching how they are alike, teaching how the first one was repealed, teaching how this one can be repealed. Here are links to historical teaching material on Prohibition from Dick Evans. Check them out when you get a chance. http://mamamojournal.blogspot.com/2011/02/notes-from-dick-evans-presentation.html
Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein stands ready to bring the United States into the 21st Century on environment, economy, energy, Human Rights, and peace. You don’t have to choose somebody from the corrupt far-Right criminal Parties. You can be a part of a true revolution! Jill Stein needs your help to gain enough money in donations in just over three days to win over to her campaign coffers more than one hundred thousand dollars in matching funds. That influx of cash will boost visibility and viability of Stein and the Green Party. On environment, economy, energy, Human Rights, and peace, the two big Parties seem either evil or superstitious – but most Americans assume that the reason nearly all elected Republicans and Democrats act that way is that they take bribes from the 1%. Recent polls decrying the lack of choice in the 2012 Presidential Election indicate that both Republicrat candidates are no damn good. In any case, the Democratic Republican Obromneys can’t be viable, because they’re not sustainable!
Now we’re in a Green Revolution, and we can win it. We will win it, if our species is to survive. Al Gore was just in Washington again this week, asking them to be reasonable. They’re not. They’re instead being dishonest, and acting superstitious. President Obama this week snubbed another climate conference, this one’s in Rio de Janeiro. I just saw Canadian scientist David Suzuki speaking from there on Democracy Now! He said we’re doomed because of that snubbing by US politicians. He said that because of these environmental Atrocities, humans may have only a 50% chance of surviving the 21st Century. Ignoring climate change is a real crime.
As I asserted in my previous article on the subject, scientists at Lund University in Sweden have proven my friend Jack Herer’s hypothesis that growing Cannabis Hemp on 6% of US arable land can produce enough clean energy to power our entire economy, replacing all current usage of Nuclear power, Oil, gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and propane; without causing any Global Warming! Cannabis fuels do not add CO2 to our atmosphere, because the only Carbon in biofuels is that which was recently absorbed out of the air: Hempen biofuels are Carbon neutral. If we begin growing Hemp today on 6% of our arable land, the US could be energy independent by 45 days from now, never needing Fracking, pipelines, Coal mining, offshore drilling, or onshore drilling. Those dirty Fossil Fuels should keep their Oily fangs out of our funky shores! Check out these Jack Herer links about Hemp and Clean Energy, when you get the chance. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2012/06/24/marijuana-voters-join-jill-stein-now-green-revolution-economic-conversion-this-week-only/
But, hey, we’re out of time. The bought-off major media keep telling people that they must choose the far-Right, anti-science, anti-Human-Rights, war monger Obama; or they must choose Romney, who claims to be worse than Obama. American democracy has never been in so much trouble. Think about it as if you were a foreign election observer, observing a foreign election: One set of campaign donors first funded George W. Bush, then funded Barack Obama, and are now funding Mitt Romney. At the same time, every televised news source (except Fox) constant tells Americans (in subtle and not so subtle ways) that they must vote for Obama, or they are doomed. Even Democracy Now! doesn’t mention Green Party Presidential candidates. Both Jill Stein and 2008 Green Vice Presidential nominee Rosa Clemente pointed it out to me: Democracy Now! doesn’t seriously cover the Greens in Presidential Elections. Google it. (They spoke to Roseanne Barr, as a novelty, once).
Jill Stein has just over 3 more days left to qualify for matching funds for her campaign. She is very close. If she gets it, she will be the first Green Presidential candidate to do so, quite an accomplishment in itself. If she makes it, the campaign garners more than one hundred thousand dollars in matching funds, to help get the word out. If she gets it, we might get legal Marijuana this November. Of course, the Obromney Republicrats have a lot more money than Jill Stein will get. But everybody knows that they are loudmouthed liars. Jill Stein is not a TV star. Jill Stein’s voice is not loud, but she speaks the truth. She is principled. Has any other candidate told you about the Slavery, Genocide, Torture, and repression our Government is carrying out in Bahrain? Of course not. They wouldn’t dare! http://www.jillstein.org/funding
How could the Holocaust happen? Politicians were unprincipled. Voters didn’t care much, didn’t want to think about it. A lot more is at stake than just Marijuana. But Marijuana voters hold the key. Many people, like my friend Dick Evans, say it should be [or at least that it will be] taxed and regulated “like alcohol.” But Boston activist attorney Steve Epstein, also very important in the Marijuana movement here, says they should take it a step further, and make it “Legal like tomatoes.” Steve is right. Legalize it first. If we elect Jill Stein President on November 6, 2012, we can start legally growing it, smoking it, and trading it right away, when the results are announced, that night; because the people will have spoken!
Jill Stein needs to collect at least $5,000 in donations from each of at least 20 states in order to get the matching funds. She has already made it in eleven states. She needs just nine more. Call your friends in different states who care about these issues. The first $250 of any donation counts toward securing the matching funds for the campaign. Of course, she needs donations in any amount and from any state. But this map or the Jill Stein funding link will help you think of who to call, by showing you which states are within reach of the $5,000. We need nine. If you know anybody in those states who cares about Marijuana and Hemp issues, or who cares about peace and justice, for that matter, or who cares about energy and the environment and the economy, please, if you know people there who care, call them or email them. Send them this link. Broadcast this all over the internet as fast as you can, because we need to get this done, now!
Accept no (l)imitations. Dr. Jill Stein, MD. Give Now! After Jill Stein is elected, we’ll be powering our cars and power plants on Green Energy. And to celebrate, I’ll take a toke from that same plant – the Hemp plant – the same plant that those clean fuels are made from, and when I do, I’ll feel the Green Energy. Join the Green Party. It’s time for Economic Conversion! Join the Green Revolution. Click on the Jill Stein funding link, get out your digital wallet, and send her some Green Energy. Do it now. Please. Future generations are depending on you. http://www.jillstein.org/funding
How to Read this Map
A. Get so stoned that it looks like a map. All 50 states and the District of Columbia are situated approximately where they should be. Find your state on the map. Compare it to other states.
B. The caption for each state shows how close Dr. Stein is to securing $5,000 in donations from that state, and it shows the Marijuana legal situation in the state.
Line 1: Two-letter state abbreviation, followed in parentheses by the number of donors needed to put that state over the top, assuming that each donor gives the maximum of $250.
Line 2: Tells if donation collection in each state is: Below 25% of the $5,000 needed [<1/4]; around a quarter of the way there, as estimated by the campaign [quart]; around halfway there [half]; more than three-quarters there [>3/4]; or already over $5,000 [done].
Line 3: Tells if state has Medical Marijuana [mmj]; if the state’s Medi-Juana is crucial to our national economy [mmj(!)]; and if the state had/has a Marijuana Proposition this year [prop].
Line 4: Tells if Marijuana is on the ballot in the state this year [ballot]; if outlaw Marijuana Smokeasies currently operate in the state [smokeasy]; if state citizens frequently use Civil Disobedience pot smoking to intimidate police [CD]; if the state has a strong Industrial Hemp movement [hemp]; if the state has Willie Nelson helping out its (Industrial) Hemp movement [Willie]; and if the state has a hidden loophole through which Marijuana is already more legal than it is in other states [loophole]. (The Line 4 stuff may spill over into other Lines. That’s just it goes when you get to Line 4.)
Loopholes: (1) In Florida, prescription Marijuana is already legal. Very few people get it. Elvy Musikka, a good friend of mine who has severe Glaucoma, is one of the few patients in this country getting it prescribed. Unfortunately, it is the worst pot you can imagine: The males and females aren’t separated; it’s harvested by lawnmower; if she gets a bud, it’s by accident; it’s warehoused for years so that by the time she gets it, she has to re-humidify it or it won’t even smoke. (2) In Ohio, if you possess less than 100 grams, you cannot even be ticketed. Nearly everyone in Ohio has under 100 grams. (3) Here in Massachusetts, if caught with Marijuana, the culprit doesn’t have to give the police his or her real name, and doesn’t have to pay the fine. Another Massachusetts Loophole: If the person caught with Marijuana is using it medicinally for Asthma, AIDS, or Cancer, then the charges must be dropped. (4) Alaska’s Supreme Court ruled Marijuana legal there. (~5) Wisconsin’s Constitution provides that possession of Marijuana on private property is not a crime unless and until someone files a complaint. (Wisconsin is not marked as a full Loophole on the map.)
The only seven states not trying to Legalize Marijuana this year are Georgia, Louisiana, Utah, Nebraska, Virginia, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Even so, in all seven of them, Marijuana is by far the biggest cash crop.
http://www.jillstein.org/funding
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jill Stein is the best candidate in the Presidential race on Marijuana. It’s time to stop beating around the bush and end Prohibition now. Legalize it. Under present law, before it can be prescribed or used legally, the President or the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) must order it removed from the Schedule 1 illegal drugs list, which purports that the drug has no medical use. Marijuana is on Schedule 1, even though its documented use as a medicine goes back thousands of years. Dr. Jill Stein, MD, is a Harvard-trained physician, and teaches medicine. She is an expert on the environmental impact of pollutants on people.

In ten states, citizens will be voting on Marijuana questions this year. Other states came close to getting such measures on their respective ballots – came close, but no cigar. Certainly in all those states, there are people who would enormously benefit from Jill Stein’s increased exposure in the campaign, should she get the matching funds. For instance, Marijuana is on the ballot in Oregon, and Jill Stein only needs two more donors to put Oregon over the $5,000 mark. Now, listen, both of you, I want you to forgo that next ounce, and give that $250 to Jill right now. Do it. If you’re in other states, give anyway. You can check the map to see if your state is voting on pot, and what the Marijuana movement is like in neighboring states.

Eighteen states (including the District of Columbia) have Medical Marijuana according to law now, but the Federal Government under President Obama has been ruthless in cracking down on these law-abiding citizens. If you’re in Colorado, a state with a successful Medical Marijuana program, and an upcoming Marijuana Election, you probably want the Federal Government out of your hair, whether you’re a patient or a provider. Jill just needs six donors to put her over the top in Colorado. It could be you.

Twenty-one states have or had Marijuana Propositions in motion in 2012. Missouri, for example, has Marijuana activity this year. It only takes fifteen of you in Missouri to put Jill Stein over the top. The Green Party is all over the world. The established media will not report on this. We are the media now. It is time for the United States to join the Green Revolution. Let’s stop letting our country act superstitiously!

Without Funding, True Activist Progressive Leftists Are Challenging Progressive Democrats in Mass — by NormanB (Deviations from the Norm")

Here in Western Massachusetts, we’ve had a one-party system for a long time. Nearly everyone registered is a Democrat. Sometimes in political races, Republicans don’t field a candidate. For instance, in 2002, the Republicans didn’t even run someone against Senator John Kerry. Though Republicans might not run, sometimes Socialists do, or Greens, or Libertarians, or Independents. Democrats usually win. But Massachusetts and Vermont are quite Left-leaning, and it is our responsibility to pull the country forward in our direction if we can.

Leftist candidates usually have no money, no funding at all, no campaign ads. They rise only based on desire for reform.

Good luck to Jerry Brown and Russ Feingold. If only more Democrats were like them, we wouldn’t need this radical break-away movement.

Progressives across the country swept Democrats into office two years ago in hopes the Party would make positive changes. To our horror, instead of stopping Human Rights abuses and Right-wing shenanigans, the Democrats jumped in and got every bit as dirty as the Republicans. I have been a Democrat all my life, and I have never been so disgusted with my Party.

With all the disgraceful War Crimes, the media suppression to help BP hide its crimes, the continuing filibuster scam, why don’t honest Democrats stand up to oppose the Human Rights abuses, the War Crimes, the media suppression, and the filibuster scam? Are all Democrats in Government as thoroughly dishonest as those in the Obama Administration? The Democratic attitude of ‘We’re not going to investigate at all, because he’s OUR crook!" is not winning anyone over. When an Administration is corrupt, it is the duty of those in Government to bring it down, irrespective of party affiliation.

And so it is a breath of fresh air that our Massachusetts Democrats, progressive compared to those in the rest of the country, and their nominal opponents the centrist Republicans, are being challenged from the Left. We’ve had a quiet subdued far-left pro-peace, pro-pot Congressman, John Olver, for many terms. He’s done well, but many complain that he’s too quiet, too timid. Where’s our national reform of Marijuana laws? Where’s our investigation of Torture and other War Crimes?

Enter Michael Engel, Independent candidate for Olver’s Congressional seat. Engel is a true grassroots reformer, a democratic socialist in the mold of Bernie Sanders. Below is his first YouTube video:

Another progressive Democrat not usually challenged is State Representative Ellen Story. She’s a friend of the Left, far Left of the national Democratic Party. Her opponent is longtime hard-working dedicated Cannabis activist Dan Melick:

Cannabis reform is on the move in Massachusetts. This election cycle, one of every eight voters in the Commonwealth will be able to vote on a Cannabis question. In the more progressive parts of the state, many will be voting on a non-binding resolution instructing their elected representatives to support legislation to legalize, tax and regulate Marijuana. In the more conservative parts of the state, people can vote on whether they want to legalize medical Marijuana. 53 State House districts and several State Senate Precincts will make Marijuana choices in November. Scott Brown’s former local constituents will vote on a pot question. We expect Cannabis reform to win widely.

More than two decades ago at a wild party benefiting Leftist Community Radio station WMNF at the Cuban Club in Ybor City, Tampa, I opened for an ecstatic abstract jazz genius called Sun Ra, who told people he had been taken up onto the "mothership" and interrogated by "a guy who looked like Spock." Be that as it may, the son of one the members of Sun Ra’s space band, Governor Deval Patrick, has turned out to be kind of middle-of-the-road. The same can be said for both his Republican and Independent opponents. The powers that be would prefer to keep Green-Rainbow candidate Jill Stein out of the debates, but the debates need her, for the taste of honesty, so it won’t just be three men agreeing with each other.

Below is a link to the first debate in which Jill Stein was included, the Cape Wind Debate. Stein asked the Governor to give back political donations from sources trying to influence his decisions, including Cape Wind. One can see in this debate three candidates who want to sell us a bill of goods, and one who wants to reveal the truth:
