The Power of the Mass Media: Newly Discovered Osama bin Laden Cave Video

The Power of the Mass Media: Newly Discovered Osama bin Laden Cave Video — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

My two-year-old radical political performance art video got “featured” by YouTube this month, the first time that’s ever happened. It was suddenly promoted to lots of potential viewers around the globe. Please don’t watch it yet. I have a few things to say about it first.

When President Obama claimed in Autumn 2009 that he was empowered to order Premeditated Murder against any Muslim anywhere in the world, pardon himself for the crime(s), and then proceeded doing it in Somalia and Yemen; I was outraged, and ashamed to be an American.

The Muse poured out this poem through me, and by March 2010, I had an event scheduled to raise awareness, and was recording this video, with my videographer and significant other Rachel. Less than three months later, I posted my first blog/Diary here at FireDogLake.com.

This flick’s viewership is high for one of my videos. I don’t know why it was featured, but there are details and political events that relate. It has all along been viewed in Africa and in many Muslim countries. This month was the anniversary of bin Laden’s Murder (that is, the Premeditated Murder ["targeted assassination"] of the person whom Special Forces killed, then claimed was Osama bin Laden, then disposed of the body without verifying who it was).

When I recorded it, President Obama was propagandizing about going after the presumably living Osama bin Laden “in the cave where he lives.” Congressman John Murtha had courageously called for investigation of War Crime Atrocities committed by cowardly US Marines in an horrific massacre of defenseless women and children in Iraq. But instead of an investigation, hundreds or perhaps thousands of websites popped up demanding that Murtha be Assassinated for being so disrespectful to the Marines.

Soon, Murtha was rushed to a Military hospital, supposedly for a simple procedure. But instead of the usual simple procedure – the standard and safe laparoscopic surgery – the Military doctor sliced open Murtha’s body cavity with a knife and slit his intestine. That killed him. The Military assumed it was an accident. So did the press.

At the same time, ex-Congressman Charlie Wilson dropped dead. Charlie Wilson’s War was the book and movie about Representative Wilson’s covert program to arm bin Laden in Afghanistan. One Congressman talked too much, and the other knew too much. The Obama Administration, of course, didn’t investigate either of the killings, despite the hundreds of death threats from Marines against Murtha immediately before his Murder in Military custody.

Another reason YouTube may have chosen to promote this one at this time is that another video I’m in just soared to about 10,000 hits: A live concert I did a year ago with a couple of friends: President Obama’s Primary Democratic challenger and Political Theatre performance artist Vermin Supreme, and legendary Political Prisoner and performance poet John Sinclair – who was imprisoned after his brilliant work at the 1968 Democratic Convention, and finally released [despite his long remaining sentence] when his admirers and fellow pot smokers came out and raised hell – John Lennon and them. (Vermin’s popularity may have rubbed off on me: After finishing third in this year’s New Hampshire Democratic Primary, Vermin Supreme got millions of views on YouTube in several videos, and toys and sculptures were created in his image in other countries.)

This featuring by YouTube garnered about exactly 20% of the lifetime views for this video. The US views accounted for 53.4% of all views this month. Lifetime, US viewers have watched 51.2% of the showings. Most of this month’s 822 views occurred on the day it was featured, the anniversary. President Obama was sure promoting it then, bragging about his anniversary.

So here’s the phenomenon: Though I was registered as a Democrat when I recorded it, as an artist I’m more of a revolutionary communist, completely non-commercial, with no incentive for any corporate entity to push it. However, on YouTube I get my message out there anyway, in this case, four thousand times over!

So that you’ll fully appreciate the overwhelming extent of exposure YouTube gave my anti-status-quo diatribe, I’m about to get rabelaisian on you, and tell you exactly where it went. It went to 84 nations this month, and 115 total. And it went to Washington, DC, and 45 states this month, and lifetime: All 52 states: The 50 common ones, DC, and the Unknown State.

Of course, we don’t know how many of these views were recorded and then shared with people not online, but we do know that lots of the views were in countries where very few people have internet. And since it’s gotten popular in Arab countries, we don’t know how many of the views are by US intelligence agents monitoring dissent on the web, or trying to tie me to any alleged Terrorists who might listen to my songs.

And we don’t know about the Unknown Nations and Unknown States that crop up. That may be when the intelligence monitors are on, not wanting people to know which country or state they’re in. And we don’t know about the 19 additional views that YouTube chose not to include in its tally of statistics, but my best guess is they went to NSA headquarters, or maybe they just haven’t been fully counted yet. And we don’t know in which countries this video may be sometimes blocked, or prohibited completely.

Now, you can go ahead and watch the video. After you do, you’ll want to dig the lyrics and the footnotes. Here they are: http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2010/05/12/bin-laden-vid-pans-civil-war-for-mexican-marijuana-murthas-assassination/

Total views: 4,122 since this video was posted on March 7, 2010: Obama bin Plottin by Norman B (“Deviations from the Norm”): 822 views in the past month, mainly on its big day. Below trace those views to the viewer.

421 viewed it in the United States; 67 in Canada; 62 in California; 31 in Saudi Arabia, Florida, and New York; 24 in Texas; 21 in North Carolina; 20 in Pakistan, and Australia; 18 in New Jersey; 15 in Massachusetts, and the State of Georgia; 14 in Michigan; 13 in Ohio, and Pennsylvania; 11 in Illinois, Washington State, and Indiana; 10 in the Dominican Republic, and Colorado; 9 in Colombia, Indonesia, Nevada, Minnesota, and Louisiana; 8 in Morocco, Algeria, Portugal, Ireland, and Virginia; 7 in Austria, Peru, Germany, Argentina, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Arizona, Maryland, Connecticut, and Kentucky; 6 in Chile, New Zealand, and Missouri; 5 in Iraq, Norway, the Unknown Nation, Tennessee, Alabama, and Oregon; 4 in Finland, Belgium, Puerto Rico, Haiti, India, Tunisia, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Hawaii; 3 in Israel, the Ukraine, Greece, Romania, Suriname, Switzerland, Thailand, Singapore, Ethiopia, France, Mexico, Lithuania, Ecuador, Arkansas, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and Mississippi; 2 in Senegal, Croatia, Estonia, Fiji, the Republic of Georgia, Qatar, Ghana, Tanzania, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Idaho, Vermont, Kansas, the District of Columbia, Oklahoma, and Montana; and 1 viewer is reported to have viewed it this month in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Guatemala, Panama, Japan, Nicaragua, Azerbaijan, Serbia, South Africa, Bahrain, the Palestinian Territories, Guam, South Korea, Armenia, Brazil, Libya, Vietnam, Jordan, Guadeloupe, Honduras, the Sudan, Kuwait, Nebraska, South Carolina, the Unknown State, Utah, West Virginia, and Rhode Island.

Not everybody goes for the hype, or even looks in at YouTube. Viewers in the following countries have also watched it, but not when it was so trendy: Malaysia, the Philippines, Kenya, Djibouti, Hong Kong, Oman, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Latvia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Ecuador, Hungary, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Nepal, Somalia, the Maldives, Malta, Moldova, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Iceland, Slovakia, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, El Salvador, and Angola.

VIDEOS of Obama Death Squad Committing Genocide & Torture Against Black People in Libya

VIDEOS of Obama Death Squad Committing Genocide & Torture Against Black People in Libya — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

When I was a kid in the 1960s, the teacher showed us a pile of bodies in a photo taken at Auschwitz concentration camp. Shocking. Terrifying. Then I thought Genocide was something from the past. I though it would stay in the past. I wasn’t worried about it.

Prevalent propaganda pounded into my head the horrors of the “Japanese Water Torture.” Everybody in the country needed to know graphic details of just how horrible its victims felt under that Torture. That rationalized (if not justified) the fact that we were Executing War Criminals for Waterboarding. I thought back then that we were through with Water Torture too. That’s what I thought. When I was a kid. Kids!

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: But now that I am a man, I must put away childish things. Like nostalgia.

Look, I wish I didn’t have to tell you this. Obviously from the lack of coverage, nobody wants to tell you. This is only on a need-to-know basis. And I know you don’t want to know about it. It’s so much easier to just look away. But that teacher showed me that pile of bodies. And now, I have something to show you.

LOOK! You can no longer say you don’t know about it. From this day forward you will work to end the Libyan Genocide, or you will fail to do so.

What just happened?! Arab Spring got into full swing, a chance for real liberation sweeping the world, talk of an “American Spring;” then US President Barack Obama warned us that a terrible Genocide was about to happen in Libya. What he didn’t tell us was that HE was about to carry it out. I call that a lie of omission. Now, somebody needs to get over there and put that genie back in that bottle, fast!

Obama called for a No-Fly Zone, another lie of omission, though Obama’s Defense Secretary, Republican Oil billionaire Robert Gates, at the time cautioned us that a No-Fly Zone IS a war. Gates was out of that job real quick.

In Yemen, the US trained and armed an arm of Al Qaeda as the invasion force. Like all death squads and intelligence agencies, Al Qaeda mercenaries are far-Right Fascists. The outcome was predictable. As you know, Right-wing Fascists hate Black people. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html

The US led the war effort against Libya, supplying most of the personnel and more than 90% of the sorties. Qaddafi’s communistic habit of spending Oil money on the country’s needs had irked the wrong people: That is, it had the people who control the President of the United States: Obama then led an international feeding frenzy to steal the Libya’s Oil for Wall Street, Banksters, Chemical companies, and Fossil Fools.

Fighting over that Oil hurt Libyan Oil production and thus drove prices up temporarily. The US and its allies froze Libyan bank accounts and stole the money too. And all the while, Syria was consciously trying to imitate Obama’s Atrocities in Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, and Somalia.

And – I must say this – though you’re all too young to get the allusion – unless you study History – Chamberlain’s Britain, Vichy France, and Quisling Norway did more than just appease this madman. (Those of us who study History are condemned to watch the world repeat it.)

Now, our side is lynching and beheading people. Libya banned Slavery in 1853, more than a decade before the US did; though Slavery persisted in Libya, it was finally abolished in the 1890s. Now, with Obama’s takeover there, it’s back.

Our President allowed the whole world to see our shame: We’re not a democracy with a rule of law: We [ US] Tortured Qaddafi to death for the cameras. This continues to make Americans mentally ill. It will never be OK until we have a Truth Commission look into our collective American experience of Torturing Muammar Qaddafi and Saddam Hussein to death. Torturing people to death makes us insane.

You can look away if you want. Just keep looking away. But if you do, things WILL get worse! A lot worse. Enough small talk. Are you ready for some football?

Let’s start out light: A witness just back with video reveals that Obama-led NATO bombing sorties targeted hospitals and schools. At other hospitals and schools, victorious gunmen from our side barged in and killed Blacks.

And, lest you think that its over, here’s a report from this week: Black people massacred in a concentration camp.

http://libyasos.blogspot.com/2012/02/ntc-supports-ethnic-cleansing-of-black.html

http://laaska.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/refugee-camp-massacre-libyan-militia-launch-racist-raid/

Anthony Shadid was an American Arab. Shadid was the primary reporter covering the Libyan Genocide. Then he let airport security handle his asthma meds, and quickly got dead. Less than two weeks ago, he breathed his last. Here’s one of the last reports he ever made. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/09/world/africa/libyas-new-government-unable-to-control-militias.html?_r=2&ref=todayspaper

An Al Jazeera reporter was Murdered for covering a Black people in Libya demonstrating against Genocide.

Here pro-Obama propaganda calls Black men Qaddafi’s Mercenaries: You can watch this one; a crowd of children even gathered to watch Obama’s Mercenaries Torture these two Black men to death in public. As the scene opens, one is already dead, and you can watch the other one’s last seconds of life.

And speaking of the last seconds of life, here are hundreds of Black Africans seconds before Obama’s Misurata Death Squad Murders them.

Here’s a bunch of bodies.

Here, President Obama’s Misurata Death Squad Tortures Black Libyans to death by marching them on a trail of tears across the Sahara Desert. These are Murders for Oily profits, in the US President’s name.

Now, watch Obama’s Death Squad lynch a Black man.

Another Torture Murder: ODS beheads this Black man.

Here’s the ODS massacring a whole neighborhood, mainly Black women and children.

Watch the ODS Torture bound prisoners. What a bunch of cowards!

This map shows locations of massacres. It also shows the Obama Death Squad (ODS) rounding up and abusing Blacks. It shows bound Murdered Black prisoners.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cslPrRLaQDI&feature=related

As if the Genocidal impulse hadn’t gone far enough already, here we find that these Chemical Weapons of Mass Destruction will spread birth defects to Libyans not yet born.

Here we get a close up view of one of many Obama Death Squads, like the ones deployed in Honduras, Yemen, Somalia, etc.. In this report, Obama’s Misurata ODS Brigade brags about being “the brigade for purging Slaves and Black skin.” There are maps and lots of links and videos with this one. http://libyasos.blogspot.com/2011/09/genocide-racism-ethic-cleasing-of.html

The world has known about this for a long time, though you’ve been kept in the dark. Here’s a report on the lynchings and Libyan Genocide from last April.

And it’s not just Libyan nationals: Black Africans from other countries are being rounded up, Tortured, killed.

Here are some things you can do to help the situation in Libya:

1. Spread the news: We are the media now; get the word out about Libya; share this article;

2. Contact the the shows that look like they’re news and claim to be Progressive: Send Cenk Uygur, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Jennifer Granholm, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert a copy of this article: Ask them not to Cover Up this story any longer;

3. Contact your Senators and Congresspersons about it;

4. Call the White House and demand that President Obama halt the Genocide against Black people in Libya immediately, 202-456-1111;

5. Urge the International Criminal Court at the Hague, Netherlands, to fully empower Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón to indict US President Barack Obama under Article 15 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court for Crimes Against Humanity: US-led Genocide against the Black people in Libya. otp.informationdesk@icc-cpi.int

URGENT: Demand President Obama Stop Murdering Bahrainis with Poison Gas, so People won’t Compare him to Hitler

URGENT: Demand President Obama Stop Murdering Bahrainis with Poison Gas, so People won’t Compare him to Hitler — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

When you’re done reading, watch this: http://www.linktv.org/mosaic

Anger over the US/NATO burning of Qurans in Afghanistan sparked demonstrations sweeping across the Muslim world, as protests erupted against the US-Government-approved Hate Crime this weekend in Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Palestinian Territories, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Yemen, Somalia, Egypt, and elsewhere.

Instead of prosecuting the War Criminals, US President Barack Obama apologized for the desecration. By the way, Obama claims he can order Muslims Murdered anytime he wants, anywhere in the world, without evidence, and for no reason. He has authorized the Murder of Muslim children in Somalia and Yemen, calling them “pirates” and “masterminds.” He has authorized Assassinations and pogroms.

He has funded, trained and armed snipers who Murdered peaceful pro-democracy demonstrators in Yemen. He has authorized remote Murder through Coward Drones – operated by American cowards who usually miss their stated targets. US Military Murderers and Torturers of Muslims keep getting off with a pat on the back; while Tortured Muslims supposedly plead Guilty – as nobody with competent counsel actually would do, in an honest trial. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/09/26/obamas-sharpshooters-murder-40-peaceful-pro-democracy-protesters-in-yemen-again-is-this-a-warning/

Afghan policemen Murdered US officials. The US and its allies are retreating. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2106305/Afghanistan-2-US-troops-killed-Koran-burning-protests-continue.html

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/afghan-quran-protests-enter-4th-day-15788834#.T0nY-cy0zJw

Bahrain is a far-Right repressive regime where Torture and Slavery are prevalent. A figurehead Oil King “rules” there, carrying out the dictates of the US President. Under President Obama, he has carried out pogroms against both the non-citizen Slave population http://bikyamasr.com/52331/bahrain-commission-report-details-deadly-pogroms-against-migrant-workers/ and the Shiite Muslims, who make up 85% of the citizens. http://www.demotix.com/photo/669738/shia-homes-destroyed-bahrain

http://www.counterpunch.org/2011/08/03/pogroms-and-purges-in-bahrain/

You may remember that when Bahraini troops fired on peaceful protesters last February, as doctors and nurses tried to help the injured, they too were fired upon. This is part of President Obama’s M.O.: Remember Occupy Oakland? Obama’s goons shot a US Marine in the face with a Tear Gas canister, nearly killing him, then threw flash-bang grenades to prevent other demonstrators from helping their victim. For treating the injured Bahraini protesters, the doctors and nurses received lengthy sentences. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/sep/29/bahrain-protester-death-sentence/

http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/02/18/our-international-shame-the-5th-fleet-quit-disgracing-the-us-and-get-the-hell-out/

http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/03/15/democratic-party-strikes-again-obama-thugs-torturing-and-murdering-peaceful-bahraini-democracy-advocates/

As the protests continue, and continue to grow, President Obama’s puppet thugs are Murdering Bahrainis with Poisonous Gas. And in Afghanistan itself, where the Hate Crime happened, US and Afghan troops opened fire with live ammunition, Murdering peaceful protesters with bullets. (Bizarrely, the New York Daily News propagandistically says the peaceful protesters “clashed” with the Military bullets. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/anti-american-demonstrations-erupt-outskirts-kabul-consecutive-day-article-1.1026684

http://ozhouse.org/2012/02/23/us-troops-open-fire-at-afghan-protesters/

The immediate problems began in January 2012, when the United States lost two Wars:

~On January 1, the US combat forces had to be out of Iraq, a consequence of the Surrender Agreement President George W. Bush signed with Iraq during his last weeks in office: The Surrender required that remaining soldiers be restricted to base unless requested by the Iraqis, and that they leave Iraq at the end of 2011. Obama did everything he could to talk or trick the Iraqis into letting the US just stay there, and not keep its word. No dice.

~Then on January 16, the Taliban declared victory in Afghanistan, the poorest, weakest, most backward country in the world. And they just won the longest War in our history over the United States – supposedly a strong nation – and they skunked us! http://atwar.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/16/taliban-declares-victory-as-fighting-goes-on/

And going into the Afghanistan War under such cowardly circumstances marked the US as a coward nation: Every bully is a coward, no exceptions. Then the Coward Drones: US Military Cowards kill Pashtun children; respect; Tawakkul Karman won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for her courageous opposition to President Obama’s bullying repression and targeted Assassinations. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/10/07/nobel-peace-prize-to-tawakkul-karman-for-resisting-obama-saleh-massacres-of-peaceful-protesters-premeditated-murders-democracy-suppression/

But the people Obama is now Torturing with Tear Gas and Murdering with Poison Gas in Bahrain had nothing to do with that War. They are angry over a Hate Crime in Afghanistan which Obama has now Conspired to Cover Up. He’s shirking his duty: He refuses to do anything about the Atrocity. http://islamtimes.org/vdcepz8z7jh8wni.1kbj.txt

http://abna.ir/data.asp?lang=3&Id=294184

I lived through the loss of a War before: The Vietnam War. I know: TV news hasn’t announced that we lost these last two Wars yet. But they will, after they get us into the next two. Everyone will realize we lost, within a few years, just like with Vietnam: When the US retreated – fled Saigon – propaganda called it “Vietnamization” – letting the Vietnamese, or the Afghans or the Iraqis, handle their own defense.

And “Vietnamization” is exactly the word General David Petraeus used in Iraq on December 13, 2003, at his press conference announcing the capture of Saddam Hussein. He said it was time for “Vietnamization” in the Iraq War. That means we lost; and the Military knew we lost the Iraq War way back in 2003, but they just let the killing continue. Because it was making profits for Oil companies and Wall Street.

My friend Paki Wieland, of Witness Bahrain, was arrested by US forces in Bahrain twelve days ago, Tuesday February 14, on the first anniversary of the Uprising, to prevent her from witnessing what the thugs were about to do: They picked her and other Western activists up just before firing Tear Gas at a kettled crowd. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2012/02/15/urgent-bahrain-action-needed-immediately-help-prevent-obamas-goons-from-further-torturing-us-rights-observers/

http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/02/northampton_resident_paki_wiel.html

“What do you think they use Tear Gas for? Crowd control?” Paki asked at her press conference last Saturday, hours after returning home from detention in Bahrain. The audience seemed stumped, as I shook my head from side to side signifying “No!” “Norman knows…” she said: She explained that the US puppet regime in Bahrain Tortures Political Prisoners with Tear Gas. http://observers.france24.com/content/20120130-bahrain-riot-police-destroy-residents-efforts-protect-homes-air-conditioning-tear-gas

She said all the prisoners in that jail were Tortured. And, like Paki, they’re all Political Prisoners. And Obama just appropriated another big shipment of Torture devices for the Bahrain Dictatorship. http://www.democracynow.org/2011/11/28/wife_of_bahraini_political_prisoner_condemns

http://article.wn.com/view/2012/01/27/Obama_administration_selling_new_arms_package_to_Bahrain/

http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1439/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8442

And to make matters worse, the US Fifth Fleet is docked in Bahrain, so the US Military just sits there cowering on its ships while US-armed thugs commit these disgusting Atrocities. We should all be very ashamed of the US Military. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/02/18/our-international-shame-the-5th-fleet-quit-disgracing-the-us-and-get-the-hell-out/

And – excuse me while researching Obama’s Atrocities makes me throw up, I’ll be right back – I’ve been writing about President Obama’s crimes against the Bahraini people for more than a year now, but I usually haven’t gotten into as much detail as I’m about to. (I’m a Torture victim too, so this is hard for me.) If you still belong to the Democratic Party, perhaps you should quit now, or at least take at least some responsibility for this:

Nearly three months ago, December 7, 2011, the World Organization Against Torture’s (OMCT) and the International Federation for Human Rights’ (FIDH) joint project – the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders – unleashed a desperate demand and plea for emergency help ending the Obama Administration-sponsored Bahraini attacks and Assassinations against Human Rights activists. http://www.omct.org/human-rights-defenders/urgent-interventions/bahrain/2011/12/d21549/

http://presstv.com/detail/227401.html

“The Observatory has been informed by reliable sources about the death threats made by a former official from the State Security Services against Mr. Mohammed Al-Maskati, President of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights (BYSHR), Mr. Nabeel Rajab, President of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR) and FIDH Secretary General, and Mr. Yousef Al-Mahafdha, a member of BCHR.”

Why are they so desperate?! Why was I so desperate when I wrote about Paki in custody in Bahrain? Well, for one thing, there’s the case of Abdulhadi al-Khawaja, co-founder of the BCHR. Until last February, he was Middle East and North Africa Protection Coordinator with Front Line Defenders (of the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders). He’s an International Adviser in the Business and Human Rights Resource Center led by former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson. http://www.hrw.org/news/2011/04/09/bahrain-free-prominent-opposition-activist

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdulhadi_Alkhawaja#Torture

You can read more about him in the Wikipedia entry, but for now, know this: On President Obama’s watch, April 9, 2011, US-equipped masked Bahraini security police invaded al-Khawaja’s house in a warrantless search and Tortured him there in front of his daughter for 45 minutes, until he was unconscious, causing a gaping head wound. Of course his daughter was assaulted too when she tried to stop his Torture. She said her father’s blood left a wide trail as Obama’s goons dragged him down the stairs and out the door.

Locked up in Obama’s Bahrain, al-Khawaja’s Torture got worse. A lot worse. He was repeatedly gang raped by masked security police. To avoid another gang rape, he intentionally smashed his already wounded head, so he would be unconscious and hospitalized. His jaw bones were smashed. He’s had extensive surgery for his head wound, and he will need a lot more. His face is broken at least four places. He is sentence to Life.

Is that the kind of change that you can believe in?! Go Democrats!

Al-Khawaja’s two sons-in-law were Tortured and arrested in the raid too, and a third son-in-law, Muhammad al-Maskati, President of the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights, at the house at the time doing his job monitoring Human Rights violations, was himself Tortured on the spot. Since March 10, 2011, websites and messages have called for the Murders of the three Human Rights activists: Al-Khawaja, al-Maskati, and Nabeel Rajab. http://byshr.org/

http://www.euronews.net/2012/02/15/bahrain-activists-urge-more-protests-despite-bloodshed/

I hope to have Human Rights activist Paki Wieland herself here at the computer soon to answer your questions about the situation LIVE. Possibly even today during this post, though I wrote the article during the night and haven’t contacted her about it. I will also upload the video of her aforementioned press conference soon.

There are some things you can do to help the situation in Bahrain:

1. Spread the news: We are the media now; get the word out about Bahrain; share this article;

2. Contact the the shows that look like they’re news and claim to be Progressive: Send Cenk Uygur, Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, Jennifer Granholm, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert a copy of this article: Ask them not to Cover Up this story;

3. Contact your Senators and Congresspersons about it;

4. Call the White House and demand that President Obama stop Murdering Bahrainis with Poisonous Gas, 202-456-1111;

5. Urge the International Criminal Court at the Hague, Netherlands, to fully empower Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón to indict US President Barack Obama and Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa (the Bahraini King) under Article 15 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court for Crimes Against Humanity: Their Atrocities in Bahrain against the Bahraini people, their Atrocities against more than one million Slaves held there, and their Atrocities against the foreign Peace Observers like Paki Wieland. otp.informationdesk@icc-cpi.int

URGENT Immediate Action Needed! Help Prevent Obama’s Goons from Further Torturing US Rights Observers in Bahrain — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

URGENT: Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party member and longtime peace activist Paki Wieland of Northampton was just arrested and detained in Bahrain for peacekeeping, along with other American activists. If you want to help, please call the State Department and demand action: (202) 647-6178 – They keep track of how many calls they receive. I’ll suggest a script later in this post.

Paki is part of an international peacekeeping force – Witness Bahrain – and after a couple days of teargassing, was picked up. She’s in a detention center with five other US citizens. The group is being provided with Consular support. The State Department is withholding details, reportedly because of a privacy act. https://witnessbahrain.org/2012/02/six-us-citizens-arrested-in-bahrain-to-be-deported/

To understand the danger Paki is in while being locked up by our US puppet, remember that, a few days ago, President Obama’s forces Tortured political hunger strikers in Bahrain by cruelly firing teargas into their cells. http://www.democracynow.org/2012/2/1/headlines/bahraini_protesters_on_hunger_strike_tear_gased_in_prison_cells

The six American International Observers with Bahrain Witness were arrested for approaching the square where the protests began a year ago. This is part of President Obama’s attempt to crush the Arab Spring and prevent democracy in Bahrain. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/03/15/democratic-party-strikes-again-obama-thugs-torturing-and-murdering-peaceful-bahraini-democracy-advocates/

President Obama’s spokesperson addressed the issue of the detentions, but said nothing of the Torture inflicted on Americans and Shiites by Obama’s puppet Government there. The statement tacitly condoned Torturing Paki and the others. And President Obama just appropriated more Torture devices and equipment to the Slave-rich Fascist regime of Bahrain. http://article.wn.com/view/2012/01/27/Obama_administration_selling_new_arms_package_to_Bahrain/ And: http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1439/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=8442

I know Paki, and have long admired her career as an activist. She works at it tirelessly. She was on the recent aborted flotilla from Greece to Gaza. She does not deserve to be Tortured or imprisoned for standing up for freedom. Indeed, the President and the US Military shouldn’t be so cowardly: They too should stand against this heinous brutal repression! http://answerpot.com/showthread.php?2716647-Paki+Wieland+left+today+to+join+Gaza+Flotilla

You may remember a day earlier, two other activists from Witness Bahrain were deported. http://my.firedoglake.com/thecallup/2012/02/13/video-us-backed-bahrain-arrests-deports-2-us-human-rights-observers-as-1st-anniversary-of-democracy-protests-nears/

Why can’t President Obama tolerate democracy in Bahrain? I’m glad you asked me that question! Because 56% of the people there are Slaves, who aren’t citizens. And 85% of the citizens are Shiites, the people protesting. And even most of the Sunni Muslims there have few rights. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/02/17/tiananmen-update-obama-thugs-torture-journalists-activists-and-murder-pro-democracy-protesters-in-yemen-bahrain/

The US Fifth Fleet is docked in Bahrain, to our disgrace. You see, with Slavery prevalent in Bahrain, if the US servicemen weren’t cowards, they would immediately free the Slaves. They would immediately free the US observers. They would not tolerate the suppression of democracy.

If they’re just going to sit there cowering, disgracing our country, trembling on their ships in Bahrain’s harbor as people are Tortured and Assassinated for trying to have a democracy, then those cowards are not worthy of being called “US servicemen.” Every one of them should get a Court Marshall and a Dishonorable Discharge. They’re making us famous as a nation of cowards!

President Obama’s puppet forces (called ODS – for Obama Death Squad) have killed scores of people in Bahrain, just for seeking freedom. They have Tortured and imprisoned hundreds. The “security” forces have attacked their own people. After those attacks, doctors and nurses who helped the wounded were tried and imprisoned as Political Prisoners. (See 6:33 of the following clip). http://www.democracynow.org/2011/11/28/wife_of_bahraini_political_prisoner_condemns

The ODS conducted Pogroms, killing Shiites and destroying their homes, bulldozing entire neighborhoods of Manama, the capital. http://www.demotix.com/photo/669738/shia-homes-destroyed-bahrain

I’ve been writing blogs about the Bahrain Atrocities for at least a year. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/02/18/our-international-shame-the-5th-fleet-quit-disgracing-the-us-and-get-the-hell-out/

Please call the US State Department and demand action. The State Department keeps track of how many people call, and someone listens to the responses. The State Dept. number is (202) 647-6178. And as for what to say, just look above in this article, and complain about what you don’t like.

Please share this post as much as you can as fast as you can! Hurry! Lives WILL be lost, but the sooner we draw attention to it, the sooner the madness may be contained. Email this article to your Congressperson and your news sources. Spread the news.

Our Congressman [Paki's and mine] is James McGovern, the absolute leader in the US Congress on not supporting political repression in Bahrain. President Obama is the leader of the side that is supporting the political repression. http://my.firedoglake.com/normanb/2011/10/07/nobel-peace-prize-to-tawakkul-karman-for-resisting-obama-saleh-massacres-of-peaceful-protesters-premeditated-murders-democracy-suppression/

Jim McGovern deserves credit for his brilliant leadership on this issue. Call him to thank him, and to get action: Here are his office numbers: (508) 831-7356, (508) 460-9292, (508) 431-8025, (508) 677-0140, (202) 225-6101 (please call more than one of them).

McGovern is already working about on stopping the Pogroms and the Torture of Political Dissidents and Health Care Workers in Bahrain, but he may not know that one of his constituents is now held there, has been Tortured, and is in grave danger.

Email the International Criminal Court at the Hague and ask it to empower Spanish Judge Baltasar Garzón to indict US President Barack Obama and Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa (the Bahraini King) under Article 15 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court for Crimes Against Humanity: Their Atrocities in Bahrain against the Bahraini people, and against more than one million Slaves held there, and against the foreign Observers. otp.informationdesk@icc-cpi.int

UN Security Council Votes Unanimously to Cover Up Obama-Saleh Yemen War Crimes, Maintain Murderous Regime, Help Dictator Escape Justice

UN Security Council Votes Unanimously to Cover Up Obama-Saleh Yemen War Crimes, Maintain Murderous Regime, Help Dictator Escape Justice — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

In this video from this morning’s Democracy Now!, newly crowned Nobel Peace Prize recipient Tawakkul Karman pleads for New Yorkers/Americans to join her protest at the UN at 3pm today. As one can read in the CNN link below, the Security Council passed the cover-up measure despite her protest.

http://www.democracynow.org/2011/10/21/exclusive_nobel_laureate_tawakkul_karman_on

http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/21/us/yemen-un-resolution/

The UN cover-up appears to be aimed at protecting dictators Ali Abdullah Saleh and Barack Obama from international prosecution for War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity they committed which were revealed by Wikileaks, which exposed separate direct communications wherein Saleh Criminally Conspired with Barack Obama, US Secretary State Hillary Clinton, and then-Secretary of Defense David Petraeus (who is now director of the Central Intelligence Agency).

Karman in the Democracy Now! video above decries the frequent Murders of peaceful protesters by Obama Death Squad (ODS) snipers still going on, and the ODS political Assassinations of Yemeni Journalists in the past two days and the past two weeks. Without mentioning Obama by name, she asserts that these Murders are atrocities.

In what looks like a direct threat against Karman in revenge for her winning of the Nobel Peace Prize last week, two days after the award, an ODS sniper Murdered a 20-year-old woman who was peacefully protesting at a large demonstration in Karman’s hometown Taiz. This marks the first time in Yemen that ODS has Assassinated a woman (though Obama Death Squad Assassins in Mexico routinely Murder women).

Speaking of cover-ups, 2011 Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkul Karman came on Democracy Now! this morning calling for people to come protest this outrage with her: This UN agreement prevents the investigation. It helps Saleh escape now; it helps Obama, Clinton, and Betray Us escape later. It keeps the same dictatorship in power, but changes the figurehead.

Here’s the cover-up: No US news source covered the protest, with the new Nobel laureate protesting the UN covering up our President’s War Crimes at the United Nations building in New York City. If it’s not in the news, maybe we can pretend it never happened. I’ll venture a guess that there was a demonstration, maybe even including Occupiers. I may never know.

Meeropol on Political Prisoners, Torture Victims, Whistle-Blowers, Press Freedom, IGLO Alternative Political Convention

Meeropol on Political Prisoners (John Sinclair, Bradley Manning), Torture Victims (Manning), Whistle-Blowers (Julian Assange, Thomas Paine), Press Freedom (Jane Hamsher, Paine), the IGLO Alternative Political Convention — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

Tireless Human Rights activist Robert Meeropol spoke to the Thomas Paine Society in Amherst, Massachusetts, on January 29, 2011. Meeropol and his brother were small children when their parents Julius and Ether Rosenberg were executed by the United States. Officially, young Robert Meeropol’s mother was executed for typing. The execution of the Rosenbergs (primarily for their political beliefs, because they were Jewish, and to fire up the American Right Wing) is internationally considered one of the most important Crimes Against Humanity of the 20th Century.

The world was in dire straits four weeks ago, four days after Egypt’s Jan. 25 Revolultion began. It was just weeks after the January 2011 Assassination mayhem, and scant weeks before President Obama would order the Federal investigation of those shootings closed down. The speaker for the Thomas Paine Society talked of the things listed in the above headline. He noted that Meeropol’s appearance made this the largest meeting the TPS ever had.

Paine was an important Founding Father, pamphleteer, and political philosopher. He is best known for his pamphlet Common Sense, but was quite prolific. He was an important whistle-blower in the new republic.

The T. Paine Society’s speakers and Robert Meeropol and I all expressed the same concerns. I had just self-published a pamphlet on Manning-Assange-Hamsher-Wikileaks, and disseminated it among college students at the University of Massachusetts. Meeropol read my pamphlet, and signed it large, like John Hancock. I’ll reproduce it below.

I told Mr. Meeropol that legendary political prisoner John Sinclair was coming to Amherst-Northampton this April to participate in the IGLO radical political Convention, and to speak and perform at our annual  Extravaganja pro-Marijuana rally on the Amherst town common. “I know John,” he assured me.

Meeropol said he may not be able to speak at the rally, which will be Saturday and Sunday April 16 and 17. He asked me to be in touch with him about it, and about him sending a statement or Skyping the rally or Convention, if he can’t be there.

IGLO stands for Independents, Greens, Libertarians, and Others. (Others includes Democrats, Republicans, unregistered, et cetera.) Most people and parties in our nation agree on three principles that the two corporate parties eschew: (1) Ending the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq; (2) ending Prohibition; and (3) restoring Human Rights/Civil Rights.

Those missing Rights in need of restoration include many parts of the Bill of Rights, Habeas Corpus, Geneva Conventions, Bill of Attainder, Ex Post Facto, Abolition of Slavery. The IGLO Convention will open April 14, 2011, in Northampton, Massachusetts, with a Keynote speech, and then, the very first Presidential Debate of the new election cycle. Candidates who agree on the three guiding principles above are invited. Three have already accepted.

My pamphlet’s statement signed by Robert Meeropol:

Urge President Obama to HALT the Torture of Wiki-Leaks Hero Bradley Manning!

White House Comment Line: 202-456-1111

The Tunisian people overthrew their Government a few days ago, after Wiki-Leaks revealed crimes of their leaders and ours. The Obama Administration has ordered US college students not to read Wiki-Leaks, but you can still read about the Torture of political prisoner Bradley Manning, the US Army Private accused of heroic information leaking that revealed crimes of our leaders and leaders of other countries.

Torture is a Crime Against Humanity. Torture is un-American and inhuman. Punishing someone based on suspicion is unconstitutional. Sunday (1/23/11), the US Military arrested Journalist Jane Hamsher and Manning’s friend David House, who together revealed Manning’s Torture to the world.

The Obama Administration has warned US college students that they face Government retaliation if they comment on Wiki-Leaks, but you can still comment on Torture. Urge President Obama: Halt ALL Torture and Assassinations of citizens. Urge the President to turn over all Torturers to the International Court of Justice in the Hague to be prosecuted for Crimes Against Humanity. Ask a non-student to read Wiki-Leaks for you. You’ll be shocked.

Obama’s Brutal Barbaric Bombings of Civilians and his Assassination Squad Sparked Yemen Revolution

Obama’s Brutal Barbaric Bombings of Civilians and his Assassination Squad Sparked Yemen Revolution — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)

Egypt is bigger and stronger. It is easy to miss what’s happening in Yemen.

President Obama sent Coward Drones into Yemen. These unmanned aircraft are operated by cowards on US bases, sometimes within the United States. They primarily murder civilians and terrorize indigenous people in what is called “collateral damage,” collateral to the stated objective of killing those opposed to the US puppet dictator of Yemen, President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and his agenda of delivering his nation’s Oil to China and the West.

In this report from January 22, 2011, Chinese President Hu thanked Saleh for his support of China’s stellar “Human Rights” record, especially concerning Tibet and Taiwan. The article cited doesn’t mention China’s genocidal repression of the Muslim Uygurs in East Turkestan (called “China’s Muslim West” by propaganda voices on US commercial networks who approve of the occupation of Turkestan).

http://www.jamestown.org/single/?no_cache=1&tx_ttnewstt_news=3952

President Obama has also sent a US intelligence assassination squad into Yemen, stressing his assertion that he is allowed to order assassinations against Muslims anywhere in the world, even if they are Americans, even if they are in Yemen. Anwar Al-Awlaki, whom President Obama’s hit men are assigned to kill, has close ties to US intelligence, and was invited to the Pentagon by Donald Rumsfeld’s Defense Department shortly after 9/11.

http://news.firedoglake.com/2010/10/21/rumsfelds-defense-department-invited-anwar-al-awlaki-into-pentagon-after-911/

However US culpability in Egypt may be downplayed, President Obama’s aggression against the poor civilians of Yemen holds a large responsibility for the Yemen Revolution. How many massacres will the US puppet regimes carry out?

Yemenis in the US have been targeted for more than a decade since the DEA rescheduled the herbal drug Qat (Khat), chewed daily by most people in parts of Yemen. The drug is not harmful, and increases fertility in both men and women. As banning Marijuana in the 1930s was rationalized by saying Blacks, Mexicans, and Jazz musicians used it, so was Qat considered evil, as some Muslims show great respect for it: It sparked an artistic movement among Muslim fundamentalists who believe the Commandment prohibiting “graven images” forbids all realistic depictions of humans and animals, but takes no position on psychedelic design.

All of us Americans, and especially all Democrats, should contact President Obama and our Democratic representatives in the House and Senate to demand these simple actions on the Yemen situation:

  • Immediately end Coward Drone strikes in Yemen;
  • Immediately end US-sponsored assassinations in Yemen;
  • Turn those assassins over to the International Court of Justice in the Hague for prosecution for Crimes Against Humanity;
  • Tell the truth about US involvement in Yemen;
  • Stop corrupting the Yemeni Government.

These are Human Rights deserved by every human on the planet. Common decency requires that President Obama, the US, and the Democratic Party also afford these rights to the Yemeni people.

Meanwhile, in Egypt, US Vice Dictator Puppet Omar Suleiman told his state television audience that Western Journalists are spies causing the country’s chaos. His words incited attacks on journalists that continue. He called for Constitutional changes that nonetheless keep intact Egypt’s absolute dictatorial powers in a totalitarian President. Our President and Secretary of State seem to approve turning the reins of Government over to this man.

But the people of Egypt demand removal of the regime and nothing short. Offering the Egyptians a Suleiman Government [under absolute control of the Obama CIA's top kidnap-and-torture thug] is not honest or credible negotiating. Actual negotiating takes serious attention, not just propaganda. It takes hard work. It will be very hard to change the Egyptian Government, you see, Egypt has its own National Democratic Party to contend with.
