30 Stoners Can Overthrow the Government, Legalize Freedom, Stop Gl0Warm w/President Jill Stein, but Only 2 Days Left to do it — by NormanB (“Deviations from the Norm”)
Thirty pot smokers in seven states can remake the world, prevent World War III, stop Global Warming, and restore Human Rights in the United States and around the world. If they hurry!
(NOON UPDATE at bottom of this column.)
(Ha ha. “Stoners” is an attention-grabbing-type headline word. I meant “Medical Marijuana users.” Remember, that 0 in Gl0Warm is a Zero: With the Cannabis economy, we can bring our Carbon Dioxide emissions down to zero, fast.)
I just joined Facebook a year ago, during the Arab Spring, when I heard that you can use it to overthrow the Government. And now here we are, about to do just that! This Oil War Economy is going down, to be replaced by full employment, universal healthcare, and a debt-free kindergarten-through-college education for all who want it. We don’t have to stick with the crooked corporate Parties anymore. Now that we are the media, people less and less believe what the corporate media spews. Even with today’s educational standards, the public can tell the dif between covering news and Covering Up.
The 2012 Presidential Election is going to be a national referendum on Legalizing Cannabis: Ten states are voting on Marijuana this year; forty-three states and Washington, DC, are trying to Legalize it, right now. This Election can be Earth-moving. Marijuana voters will hit the polls. And nobody else but pot smokers is going to be juiced to vote, because the other two candidates kind of – well – suck. They’re crooks, and nobody wants either of them. So, we do have a real chance.
Here’s what’s happening: According to polls, about 100 million more US voters want to Legalize Cannabis than the record number – 69 million – that voted for Barack Obama in 2008. I want to bring that hundred-and-two-thirds million Americans into the camp of Green Party Presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, MD, who has long supported Legalizing. Jill Stein with her Green New Deal will initiate sweeping reforms that will Legalize Marijuana and institute a Hempen Clean-Energy-based Green Economy. With Hemp, we can raise our own fuel that doesn’t cause Global Warming.
And Hemp grows so fast, that the US can be energy-independent in a matter of weeks, with never a need for Fracking, Pipelines, “Natural” Gas, Gasoline, Oil, Coal, or Nuclear Power. Yet President Obama bragged today about opening the Southern leg of the Keystone XL Pipeline for a Canadian company. Who’s paying for this? (Here are links on energy and stopping climate change. Down the page a little are links on repealing Prohibition. Please read them when you get a chance.) (But first, help me out a little, will ya?) (This fundraising all has to be done by Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 3 pm Eastern Time.)

If the Jill Stein for President campaign can raise at least $5,000 in donations from people in at least 20 different states, then she can be the first Green Presidential candidate ever to get Matching Funds. That means that every dollar given (up to $250) will be doubled, when its Matching Funds from the Federal Government come in. The Stein campaign has qualified for the funds in 13 states so far. If she can make it in seven more states in the next two days, she can do it, she can double up on all monies donated from now on. http://www.jillstein.org/funding
These are the Matching Funds promised on our Income Tax form, when we check the box that says we want $1 to go to the Presidential Election fund (but that won’t increase the amount of our tax). The Green Party has been around for 40 years, and the fair-election fund for a long time, too. I guess most of the Matching Funds so far have gone to Democrats and Republicans. President Obama was the first Major Party Presidential nominee to eschew the funds in favor of less restrictive raising of more and dirtier money. In 2008, his Republican opponent John McCain decried Obama’s lack of ethic for doing it, for subverting the fair-election fund. He’s doing it again this year, and today, Democracy Now! showed ex-Senator Russ Feingold, of President Obama’s own campaign, pointing out Obama’s dishonesty and ethical lapse in selling out so sleazily. Jill Stein takes no corporate funds.
The main reason for having wars is to raise the price of Oil, because Oil speculators pay for our Presidential campaigns. With Jill Stein, there will be no more Oil drilling, so there will be little need for wars. Not coincidentally, that stopping drilling stops the Gl0Warm. Remember, that 0 in Gl0Warm is a zero.
And we also need Human Rights, including for the millions of Medical Marijuana patients, and for the millions of Americans discriminated against by our Drug War’s “New Jim Crow” paradigm: Imprisoning political dissidents, Blacks, Latinos, longhairs, severely ill patients. What a travesty!
But if we elect Jill Stein President, we could have Legal Marijuana with which to celebrate on Election Night! Here’s how: If we vote for the Legalize candidate, it will be Legal, de facto, immediately, that day, because the people will have chosen. That’s how it went when the people overturned Alcohol Prohibition in the early 1930s.

Yes, I said we need 30 activists to chip in. That’s assuming that each of them donates $250 – the maximum from any one donor that counts toward the Matching Funds. (Of course the campaign needs all large and small donations from all states.) If the Stein campaign gets these Matching Funds, that could turn this Election into a whole new ballgame! (Sorry about the sports metaphor.) This will pump more than $100,000 into the campaign at once, greatly increasing its visibility and viability, and double every dollar.
Yes, I said we need 30, but actually, we probably need less. Here’s why I think so: My previous two Jill Stein/Marijuana posts went kind of viral, and seemed to have an effect: One of them got posted on 108 Twitter pages, so far; and the other got posted on 569 Facebook pages, so far: In the sending out of those posts to activists, I was targeting Michigan, Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina: After that internet barrage to pot activists, Michigan went over the top, and the other three took in more than $1,000 in one day – pretty good considering how long they’ve been trying.
So, as things stand, Ohio only needs two more people to pay, and I’m confident that they already have, or soon will. Florida needs four, but I used to live there, and I’m putting that one in the bag too – I think we got it. North Carolina needs three, and they’re coming, I bet. Over the past few hours tonight, I’ve hit Colorado potheads very hard with info on Jill Stein. Colorado needs four, but they’re hopefully calling in their donations as we speak. For security’s sake, if you have any connections in those states, give them a call and a push, just to make sure.
New Mexico also needs three, but things are moving very slow there. If you know anybody in New Mexico, please get in touch with them and encourage them to support Dr. Stein with a contribution. Virginia needs five, and Connecticut needs nine. And, that’s the thirty $250 slots we seek to fill. Calls, emails, and posting this article to Facebook pages of activist organizations in the DC area could help push both Virginia and Washington, DC over the line. So do it. Quick.
She needs to get seven more states. You can help by reaching out to your friends across the country, and by networking with me, hard, for the next two days: We can’t let our country to miss this crucial opportunity. No state needs more than 20 donors to put it over the top, so the help could come from anywhere. However, this is anything but a done deal. Other states in play are: Arizona, which needs just ten more, and DC, needing 11, Missouri 13, Tennessee 14, Maine 15, South Carolina 16, Georgia and Indiana: 17 apiece. All the other states probably need twenty, or close to it. But that’s just twenty people. It can be done.
The map below tells how close each state is to qualifying for the Matching Funds. It also tells about the Marijuana Legalization situation in each state. If you really seriously want to help me put on the blitz to make sure Jill gets these Matching Funds, then, meet me below the map.
How to Read this Map
A. Get so stoned that it looks like a map. All 50 states and the District of Columbia are situated approximately where they should be. Find your state on the map. Compare it to other states.
B. The caption for each state shows how close Dr. Stein is to securing $5,000 in donations from that state, and it shows the Marijuana legal situation in the state.
Line 1: Two-letter state abbreviation, followed in parentheses by the number of donors needed to put that state over the top, assuming that each donor gives the maximum of $250.
Line 2: Tells if donation collection in each state is: Below 25% of the $5,000 needed [<1/4]; around a quarter of the way there, as estimated by the campaign [quart]; around halfway there [half]; more than three-quarters there [>3/4]; or already over $5,000 [done].
Line 3: Tells if state has Medical Marijuana [mmj]; if the state’s Medi-Juana is crucial to our national economy [mmj(!)]; and if the state had/has a Marijuana Proposition this year [prop].
Line 4: Tells if Marijuana is on the ballot in the state this year [ballot]; if outlaw Marijuana Smokeasies currently operate in the state [smokeasy]; if state citizens frequently use Civil Disobedience pot smoking to intimidate police [CD]; if the state has a strong Industrial Hemp movement [hemp]; if the state has Willie Nelson helping out its (Industrial) Hemp movement [Willie]; and if the state has a hidden loophole through which Marijuana is already more legal than it is in other states [loophole]. (The Line 4 stuff may spill over into other Lines. That’s just it goes when you get to Line 4.)
Loopholes: (1) In Florida, prescription Marijuana is already legal. Very few people get it. Elvy Musikka, a good friend of mine who has severe Glaucoma, is one of the few patients in this country getting it prescribed. Unfortunately, it is the worst pot you can imagine: The males and females aren’t separated; it’s harvested by lawnmower; if she gets a bud, it’s by accident; it’s warehoused for years so that by the time she gets it, she has to re-humidify it or it won’t even smoke. (2) In Ohio, if you possess less than 100 grams, you cannot even be ticketed. Nearly everyone in Ohio has under 100 grams. (3) Here in Massachusetts, if caught with Marijuana, the culprit doesn’t have to give the police his or her real name, and doesn’t have to pay the fine. Another Massachusetts Loophole: If the person caught with Marijuana is using it medicinally for Asthma, AIDS, or Cancer, then the charges must be dropped. (4) Alaska’s Supreme Court ruled Marijuana legal there. (~5) Wisconsin’s Constitution provides that possession of Marijuana on private property is not a crime unless and until someone files a complaint. (Wisconsin is not marked as a full Loophole on the map.)

The only seven states not trying to Legalize Marijuana this year are Georgia, Louisiana, Utah, Nebraska, Virginia, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Even so, in all seven of them, Marijuana is by far the biggest cash crop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can help by contacting interested groups and people, for instance, through phone or Facebook. The New England states are home turf for Jill Stein, she’s from Massachusetts, but the Green Party isn’t too big in the rest of New England. However, in all five surrounding states, the Marijuana movement is huge! That’s how you can help. I’ll only be able to get in touch with as many people as humanly possible. I’ll need your help with the rest.
Maine: Maine has a strong Medical Marijuana movement, and a strong [Industrial] Hemp movement, and a strong Legalization movement. Get in touch with as many of them as you can, by sending them this article, to their Facebook page or website.
Connecticut: Reach out to the Medical Marijuana facilities and organizations in Connecticut. Jill Stein will be there Friday, so people there could go meet her, but they should make their donations online first. We’re up against the clock here! Connecticut also needs lots of signatures to get Jill Stein’s name on the ballot, so I’m going to try to push some of that too. They could go see her, donate, and sign the paper.
Rhode Island: Rhode Island Legalized Medical Marijuana, but the Obama Administration ruthlessly cracks down on it there. Contact the Medi-Juana facilities, providers, groups, and organizations about it, and ask them to contact their patients fast!
New Hampshire: The people of New Hampshire want Medical Marijuana. The Obama Administration severely unjustly made a Political Prisoner out of a nurse there over MMJ. There is a strong Civil Disobedience movement in New Hampshire (“Live Free or Die”), and people there gather in public downtown to smoke Marijuana and taunt the police. Try to reach any of that if you can.
Vermont: Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) is a Socialist. Vermont has very active Socialist Parties, who can be approached on this – Jill Stein once told me that Socialism doesn’t conflict with her agenda. Vermont also has very active pro-Marijuana Parties, the members of which can be approached, somehow. Northern Vermont, home to the amazingly brilliant Revolutionary Communist Bread and Puppet Circus of giant puppet theatre, is a place where Leftist radicals predominate. They should vote for Stein. (Where else they gonna go?) But our ace in the hole in Vermont is Phish, the non-commercial band that is the world’s highest paid entertainment act – highest paid because their loyal fans want to see them as much as possible. Vermont, especially the Burlington area, is full of Phish fans, Deadheads, drum circles, hippies, and jam bands. They smoke pot, all of ‘em. Help me reach them, we’re running out of time.
Come on. We’ve got less than two days, and a lot of work ahead of us. It’s the right thing for America. We can do this.
NOON UPDATE: It’s noon Eastern Time. Jill Stein has just qualified in three more states, and four others are getting close. We still need your help, especially (right now) in these states: We need nine people in Arizona and/or eight in Connecticut; four people could do it in Virginia, if a fifth one would put in sixty dollars and ten cents; two people giving the maximum of $250 would do it for Florida; one person giving $250 can put Jill Stein over the top in North Carolina, but someone else would need to kick in $42. Everything I said above about calling still holds. We still need your help. Thanks for all you’ve done so far! Please continue to help! If you’re in Connecticut, go see Jill’s appearance tomorrow – she’s an inspiring speaker – and give her that $250, and get your friends to do it too, then all of you together go out to meet the candidate, and sign the petition to get her on the ballot. We only have two days and fourteen-and-a-half hours left! Sports metaphor: Time for that finishing kick!
