Yahoo’s AP headline page is reporting this as good news right now. Maybe they’re lying. They certainly aren’t telling the whole truth. The whole truth would include reporting how damaging to world climate this development is. Maybe AP/Yahoo personnel are just terrible reporters. Maybe they’re maniacs who want everyone dead. Maybe they’ve just been bribed. Whatever reason they may give for celebrating this horrible news, they aren’t being good or honest.

Sulfur Hexafluoride’s (SF6′s) Global Warming Potential (GWP) is 34,500. That means it heats up the Earth 34,500 times as bad as Carbon Dioxide (CO2) does. It is twice as strong as the next worst Greenhouse Gas, Nitrogen Trifluoride (NF3), which has a GWP of 17,900. SF6′s Atmospheric Lifetime is 3,200 years, officially. But some scientists believe it stays in our air many times that long. Contrast it with CO2, which is only a tiny fraction (less than 0.003%) as bad, and the only GHG we know how to resequester from the atmosphere.

SF6 is a dielectric medium which insulates ultra-high-voltage Switchgear: Transformers and Circuit Breakers. 8,000 to 10,000 tons of it is manufactured annually, primarily for this usage.

The Danish company Vestas is the world’s leading marketer of Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6), the strongest/worst Greenhouse Gas. It is also the world’s largest marketer of Wind Farms. According to US Government accounting, one-quarter of the SF6 manufactured leaks into the atmosphere. That’s about two million pounds of leakage a year, set to rapidly increase exponentially, if Vestas and the apparently pro-Global-Warming Obama Administration get their way.

The 80 million plus pounds of SF6 already in our air are equivalent to two-and-three-quarter quadrillion pounds of CO2 – well over a trillion tons of Carbon Dioxide. Anyone who wants to produce even one more gram of it is working against our best interests. Why would someone do this? (For possible answers, refer to the first paragraph after the link, above.)

Anyone (AP or President Obama, for instance) telling you that Wind Farms help fight Global Warming is lying or sadly misinformed. And someone that misinformed about SF6 should absolutely NOT be telling us or the world anything about such a dangerous gas he obviiously hasn’t researched enough. Vestas, AP, Yahoo and Obama purport to be trying to help us, but unfortunately the opposite is true.

One of SF6′s powerful byproducts (Sulfuryl Fluoride: SO2F2) is the GHG that is increasing second-fastest in our air (after NF3, which is used to make solar panels. NF3′s Atmospheric Lifetime is 740 years.) One must wonder if Vestas paid for all that glowing gloating "good news" propaganda during the Copenhagen Climate Conference telling us how great it will be for Greenland when the polar ice cap is gone.

Why I Signed Pres. Obama’s Climate and Energy Petition Today; and What Might Be Wrong With It — by NormanB ("Deviations from the Norm")

Because of my support for Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential Election, I sometimes get emails from his campaigns. This one came from Mitch Stewart’s office at barackobama.com. It is an honorable Petition.

The Petition is not the speech. The speech stayed away from Global Warming, or "Climate Change" (the Newspeak-connotationed word that’s in vogue and helps people ignore GL0Warm, the real problem). PBS Pundits after the speech insisted the American people don’t want to hear about Global Warming anymore. Maybe the US wants to just let that bubble run till it bursts, like Oil-drilling, banking, the still festering medical debacle, Coward Droning and nuclear safety. It was a pathetic speech.

The Petition is not the bill. The new climate & energy bill is a disgraceful sell-out to the worst pro-Global Warming technology, taking advantage of well-publicized superstitions of Americans, by far the most ignorant and ill-informed people on the planet on the subject of GL0Warm. I’ve written about that bill here before and I won’t repeat it now because it strays from the point. (Just remember this: Solar Panels, Wind Farms, and Nuclear Power Plants require emissions of the worst Greenhouse Gases; and electric cars just ignore the problem. The bill is a giant give-away to chemical companies and fossil fuels.)

The Petition is not the graphics. Both President Obama and Rachel Maddow (on Bill Maher’s last Real Time of the season) used the crisis in the Gulf to push for more Wind Energy, and the President’s petition shows, very faintly, Solar Panels and a Wind Farm. Maddow’s employer, GE-NBC, is invested in Wind Farms. But the world’s biggest marketer of Wind Farms is the Danish company Vestas, also the world’s biggest marketer of the worst Greenhouse Gas: "Air Jordan" or Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6). It is used as a dielectric medium, insulating ultra-high-voltage switchgear (transformers and circuit breakers). According to the EPA, one quarter of it (four million pounds) of SF6 is carelessly leaked into our atmosphere every year. And that’s about to get exponentially worse. The truth is: The so-called "Smart Grid" is Stupid!

The Petition, instead, reaches for a far greater ideal. I hope the President’s forces don’t misrepresent my signature on this simple petition as favoring their maniacal schemes. Four specific Obama Administration superstitious maniacal climate schemes I hereby stipulate that I do not support:

1. Clean Coal (because it doesn’t exist, and can’t);
2. More Oil-drilling;
3. More Nuclear power on the dishonest premise that it is "clean" or "green;"
4. This horrible bill, that causes more GL0Warm and lines the pockets of the worst climate villains on the planet. (The Republican proposal is worse.)

I stand with President Obama to pave the way for a clean-energy future that:

• Combats climate change;

• Creates a new economy powered by green jobs; and

• Ends our dependence on foreign oil.

That’s all. It is worthy of everyone’s support. Ignore the graphics and sign the Petition. Let’s go forward, not back. The only other words on the Petition page are:

"The next generation will not be held hostage to energy sources from the last century. The American people are ready for clean energy. Add your name as a strong supporter of comprehensive energy and climate reform. It’s time, once and for all, for our nation to fully embrace a clean energy future"
