I’m not a great one for advocating campaign contributions right now. I don’t have much money to put where my mouth is. But there is a big problem looming in California. Since our Supreme Court decision on gay marriage, the state has become central in the debate over civil rights for the gay community. That means two things: Lots of people are coming to the state to get married, and the entire religious right, nation wide if not world wide, views Proposition 8 on our state ballot November 4th as "Armegeddon on Gay Marriage". Their money is pouring in, and the proposition is winning in the polls. It is a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. I have no dog in this hunt except one: I believe in civil rights for everyone, and I’m ashamed that a proposition to deny civil rights seems ready to pass. Money talks. We can’t counter the entire religious right on our own. If you can, please help.

I 100% agree. In California the most important vote people can make is against Prop 8.
Thanks for keeping attention on this issue. I was astounded when I saw Prop 8 was ahead in polling.
Shouldn’t new voters be more likely to vote for Gay Marriage? I’m trying to be hopeful.
