no Amy Goodman?
Thanks for posting this video. I have a well-worn copy of Martha Gellhorn’s book, The Face of War, that has been in my library for almost 20 years.
We learn from the stories of others…sort of.
Either Dickey Chappelle or Margaret Bourke-White told of being on a ship that got torpedoed, and having to decide whether to abandon ship with an extra can of rations or an extra roll of film. She figured that it takes 30 days to starve, but if she got rescued before that she would be glad to have the film.
Years later I told that story to my kids, I forget why.
My youngest son, when he would want to get his way, would threaten to refuse to eat. Shortly after I told this story, he got really mad (he was about 7). He told me he was not going to eat for thirty days.
