Forest Gump y Jenny

To paraphrase a quote from my favorite modern philosopher Forest Gump, George Bush and Sarah Palin go together like peas and carrots. In fact she seems to be the mirror image of George Bush, when he ran for President in 2000. For example:

On September 5th during a rally in Michigan, Sarah Palin said, “We put the government of our state back on the side of the people.”

Well on November 3, 2000, during a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, George Bush said his campaign “stands squarely on the side of the people.”

Want another one?

During a rally in Missouri on September 8th, Sarah Palin said, “I reminded people that government is not always the answer. In fact, too often, government is often the problem.”

And on September 16, 2000, George Bush said, “I do not believe government is the enemy, but I do not believe government is always the answer.”

Of course, both tout their tax cuts for the rich inside a populist message:

During that same rally in Missouri, Sarah Palin said, “I’m returning a chunk of that surplus straight back to the people because they can spend it better than government can spend it.”

And in 2000 during a Presidential debate, Bush said, “I want to send one-quarter of the surplus back to the people who pay the bills. I want everybody who pays taxes to have their tax rates cut.”

John McCain knew exactly what he was doing when he choose Sarah Palin. He wanted someone just like him – and just like Bush.
