In 2004, it was obvious John Kerry was in trouble, when he was forced to pull out of Missouri and shrink the battle ground states in the final weeks of the election. John McCain is in a much worse situation. Not only is he pulling back from possible swing states (Michigan), but the RNC is being forced to spend money in Montana and West Virginia. With one week left and limited resources it’s not a good sign for his campaign.
An obvious observation |

emptywheel comments mccain is actally “surging” his resources in states where 40 percent of the voters have already voted
not
smart
anyway, if we all remember, kerry was 6 points ahead the day before the election, the exit polls showed he won, the count showed he lost
that means, (if there is a 3 percent margin for errot), they flipped the votes of 3 percent of the count, possibly 9 percent of the count
this time they will be even more brazen since there is nothing to lose, I think they might be able to flip 10 percent of the votes.
I am really really nervous
Has any candidate in recent memory been able to draw the crowds that Obama has. I don’t think it’s on the strength of the candidate alone, but people are utterly repulsed by the Republican party and everything it has stood for these past 8 yrs.
