I’ve written before about the nasty and just plain silly advertising from the Republican Jewish Coalition. But this morning I caught something that disturbs me. In their Electioneering Communications filings with the FEC they refer to Barack Obama as Barack Hussein Obama.

The only reason to use Obama’s middle name is to feed into the xenophobia of others. No other right-wing group I can find has used Hussein in their filings just as no progressive group uses "John Sidney McCain" on  theirs. 

Throughout history, jews have paid a high price for bigotry. We’ve been discriminated against, tortured and even killed for our religion. That is why the idea that a Jewish group would perpetuate hate is so disgusting to me.
