Thy name is Norm Coleman:
In a press conference this morning, Sen. Norm Coleman’s campaign said they are suing their opponent Al Franken for false attacks against him. They will submit the lawsuit to the Bureau of Administrative Hearings later today.
The campaign claims Franken violated the law in recent TV and radio ads by knowingly running false attacks against a political candidate running for office. The campaign says they will take appropriate civil and criminal sanctions against Franken.

yes .. lets sue …
what in the plupurple hell is going on lately .. all of sudden .. especially since bush v. gore .. we have this crop of ninnys who want to involve the court system in simple elections ..
norm is a public figure .. yes .. the bar for slander and libel are way high for public figures .. but rightly or wrongly .. that’s the law ..
are all republicans simply spoiled children who never learned to paly by the rules ??
that’s “play by the rules” dammit .. damn arthritis and big fingers on a small keyboard makes for strange spellin’ at times ..
“criminal sanctions” ?!!!
This is absolutely pathetic!! You know, in most States an attorney who threatens criminal prosecution to enhance their position in a civil matter has breached the Rules of Professional Conduct. It would be quintessential Republican incompetence if the only thing that came out of this BS maneuver was ethics charges against the fool who started it.
Too late — the settlement he tried to use to suppress the latest chapter in his latest scandal didn’t go through.
