As of 3:12 pm PST, Merkley has pulled to within 3500 votes. The reason this is good news is that Multnomah county has, as of 2:59 pm, counted only 61% of ballots, and is a large enough county to give Merkley a clear win. Why? Merkley’s leading by 80,375 votes there, picking up over 3000 votes in just the past hour.
I’ll make a prediction: Merkley wins; erase another Senate seat from the GOP. Dems 57.
4:17 pm. Merkley trails by 1238. By this trend, the next report will have him ahead for good. Would FDL like to be the first blog to call it for Merkley?
The Oregonian called the race, at 5:27 pm PST, for Merkley.
