This man thinks that once he says something everyone is going to bow in deference, even in the face of public record to the contrary.
I remember when his own agencies published numerous reports telling us in no uncertain terms Saddam and al qaeda were unassociated, he went on time and again telling us there was "we know there was a connection", and in the face of information telling everyone there were NO wmd’s, there he was, "there is no doubt there are weapons of mass destruction"
The man is certifiable, he is clearly a pathological liar, it’s as if he simply must lie even when a third grader with an internet connection will be able to determine the man is simply full of crap.
So here’s the latest in this man’s sociopathy;
On a fox interview, he actually made this bizarre claim;
[I had] “formally asked” the CIA to declassify memos which “showed the success of” using harsh interrogation practices such as waterboarding against detainees"
To which the ever loving glenmyster tweeters;
What mechanism does Cheney have to ‘formally’ ask the CIA to de-classify memos?”
“Did he file a FOIA request?”
tee hee, glenzilla’s such a funny man
to which the CIA gives Cheney some smack top side the head;
“Regarding Vice President Cheney’s request to declassify other memos, a senior intelligence official tells NBC News that the CIA has received no such request from the vice president,” NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reported, after an interview with Sen. Dianne Feinstein (Ca-Dem).
To which the interviewer, Mitchell is very wise;
Mitchell added that it was “not clear what they would do if they got one.”
Feinstein piles on with some smack down of her own;
Feinstein told Mitchell that she had “reviewed” the reports that Cheney cited but that she can’t comment until or unless they are declassified. Unlike the former vice president, the Democratic senator said it would be “inappropriate” to comment on classified materials.
Cheney is a sociopath with another pathology, he simply MUST lie, it’s like those of us with blood must nourish.

Fine diary, Perris. Did you notice Cheney’s eyes? Pupils big (frightened) and smirk not so prominent. You know, I think he even lies to himself about how hated he is by the American people. He wants to get those grand productions gained from torture published “so the American people can read them instead of these legal debates about the memos” (or nearly those words). He doesn’t give a rip about us or America; he’s fighting to save his own rear because he knows just where those legal memos originated.
He is trying to rewrite history. They are all following the same script almost word for word. It would not matter if it did work..it is illegal. Rahm had tense body language and lack of eye contact when he basically lied about Obama’s opinion about charging those who wrote the memos. Poor Rahm, he is under pressure from Israel, too.

Your DHS leader is not too informed as to 911. She is now in charge of keeping you safe. I hope that she is better informed in other areas of her job. With a comment like this, I bet she thinks Iraq had something to do with 911, too. You never answered a question from me, so you must have missed it. Anyone you know whose parents were Canadian and then become American? With the way things are going in the US, some might want to take advantage of the fact that they were granted Canadian citizenship on April 17/09.

” A diplomatic skirmish broke out Tuesday over a suggestion from Janet Napolitano, the U.S. homeland security secretary, that terrorists have routinely entered the United States through Canada, including the perpetrators of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Napolitano’s remarks in an interview earlier this week have angered some Canadians and prompted Michael Wilson, the normally reserved Canadian ambassador to the United States, to forcefully set the record straight.
As the keynote speaker at the Border Trade Alliance meeting in Washington, Wilson said he was “frustrated” that the 9-11 myth has resurfaced once again, almost eight years after the terrorist attacks.
“As the 9-11 commission reported in 2004, all of the 9-11 terrorists arrived in the United States from outside North America. They flew to major U.S. airports. They entered the U.S. with documents issued by the United States government and no 9-11 terrorists came from Canada.”"

Hey, bluebutterfly (more hopeful wave today, heh, heh)
Don’t know of anyone that’s ever even been to Canada – (cept Bush, and I sure ain’t kin to him; would deny it if I were). Do you think this dual citizenship flap is the lead-up to making us all one big happpy country – US, Canada, Mexico ?? It would probably bring some good Canadian blood into the US govt., but wouldn’t be healthy for Canada, IMHO. And no way on Mexico.
I simply must stay away from this computer for a while and get some yard work and other necessities attended to.
perris..Cheney lies like the rest of us breathe…constantly…
I suspect that all of them are worried about this.

” Washington, DC, April 14, 2009 – The plaintiffs and defendants in the pending lawsuit seeking restoration of millions of missing White House e-mails and the installation of an effective e-mail archiving system have agreed to stay the case so that the parties can discuss whether the matter can be resolved outside of litigation.
“There are many questions that need to be answered by the White House before the case can be fully resolved, including whether e-mails are still missing and whether more e-mail are at risk of disappearance, what efforts have been made to restore the millions of missing records, and whether records are likely to go missing again,” explained the Archive’s General Counsel, Meredith Fuchs. “In the meantime, we appreciate that the Obama White House has expressed a willingness to try to answer some of these questions, and we are going to make a strong effort to do so while also ensuring that there are no gaps in the documentary history of the White House.” “

” West Bank: Palestinian activists have climbed wooden ladders leaning against Israeli’s West Bank separation barrier and carefully spray painted in English “My dear Palestinian brothers” the first words of what they say will turn into a letter stretching 2,625 metres.
The letter, composed by South African human rights activist Farid Esack, contends that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians living under military rule is in some ways worse than what blacks suffered during the apartheid era in South Africa. “

” UPDATE: NBC reports Cheney’s request to declassify documents came Tuesday afternoon
“Senior intelligence officials said they had checked again, at NBC’s request, after hearing from the Cheney transition office and the request from the former vice president to the National Archives for declassification ‘made its way to the agency’ Tuesday afternoon,” reported the news network.
“That contradicts what the Archives told the Cheney office, which is that they forwarded the request on April 8th, more than a week after it was received from the former vice president’s office.” “

Hey butterfly and Perris, I just posted a new Oxdown diary. Would appreciate your comments. It’s a proven rebuttal to Cheney’s claims that torture works.
More and more everyday the guy reminds me of Lionel Barrymore in “It’s a Wonderful Life”. A big (deadly) spider. That’s what Jimmy Stewart called him.
