A guy whacks his plane into an IRS building. Another guy whacks his home to ground with a bulldozer.
and I’m thinking… the American Dream’s thinning veneer is starting to show its cracks.

Our societal center of gravity, the rule of law, has collapsed. It doesn’t work. Not when those who whacked (and are continuing to rape) a global economy get billions in bail outs as ordinary people lose their homes, health insurance, or their jobs.
It’s this simple…
Ordinary people will begin to take action off-the-grid and right into the face of the power players. Yeah, that lawless and unregulated bunch whose off-the-grid greed has corrupted the ability of our country to function. Our very relationships as neighbors and citizens become destabilized when the law is not upheld. Innocent people get hurt or die as ordinary people take their actions off the grid, feeling squeezed and without any other recourse… lawlessness spreads… rules become ineffective as boundaries.
This is what happens when the lawless few are not held to account.
Whether bringing us into war to protect or steal resources in another country or rigging an entire financial system, the powerful few are not only not in front of grand juries but, instead, are still involved in decision-making by our government.
War profiteers, arms makers cum black market arms dealers, drug dealers, Wall Streeters, bankers, corporate conglomerate heads… all the lying and destruction and nobody is held accountable. Except the ordinary Americans being whacked. Or Iraqis. Those in Afghanistan. And it sounds like we’d love to whack Iran.
The government, on behalf of its true silent constituency, takes our tax dollars and gives them to people who have created an economy based on death and destruction.
And not on giving you health care. Are we clear yet?
Not on sound and secular education for your children. Are we clear YET?
And instead of investing our own tax money into creating jobs, it was given away to those who, rather than stimulate the economy via loans, told us to fuck ourselves as they rewarded their greed, fraud, and theft with more and bigger bonuses.
We need to do something. And rather than crash small planes into buildings, let’s hit the real bad guys. In their pocket books.
Forget e-mailing your congressman. e-mail your friends and relatives. Let’s organize a one-week complete and utter non-payment of all insurance premiums, mortgages, credit cards. Everyone sit out of work. All at the same time. And while we’re at it, throw out the local politicians and county aldermen and councilmen. Work grass roots and net roots.
It’s time to play this game off-the-grid. It’s time to move it onto another board, run by other rules. It’s time to change this game.
Once we have their attention, let’s get the rule of law rein-stated. And then work on the rest of that damned long list.

people dropping insurance hurts the company… whaddya know. we have some power after all . . .
not quite the lesson they thought some of us would take from it, but what can i say?
Chuck Schumer said, when the economy tanked in 2007, this is a moment.
Yeah, Chuck, but not quite they way you meant it…
The new poor: Millions face years without jobs

I like your attitude. You are right, we need to play by a new set of rules. I like to think of it as strategies to destabilize the system as it has become structured by the thugs. The thugs are always there and, like a never ending circle they always ascend to power and stay there until things get so bad for the masses that they pitch them out. FDR staved off an open rebellion with liberal policies. This time, however, we have a Democratic Administration and congressional contingent bent on maintaining the status quo. It is the perfect storm for a mass uprising. Anything that can be done to insert mischief and disruption into the system, to infect it with the virus of accountability is well worth doing. POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
We should all be clapping at both these guys actions, but are looking at them as the law breakers or bad guys.
This is proof of how our society has degenerated to where we think people standing up for themselves is wrong.
If these guys were wrong that means we support the things that caused thier actions, and are just as bad as the Government, Systems, and People who were causing their problems.
There are dead and injured because the plane guy cracked.
Setting aside other points of disagreement, you have got to be kidding.
Do you suppose they even teach about Thoreau anymore?
We should study the French. They do a decent job of sticking it to thier elites whenever they get out of line.
They block off entire ports.
Block roads.
France’s electric company union is even known to cut the power to thier leaders residence.
The way the French say no would be the equivelent of shuting down all traffic in DC and cutting the Whitehouses electric power.
The French are nutso compared to us. But either way, there’s no need for anyone to die.
You seem like a good American who thinks all revolution is peaceful and nobody get hurt.
Our own American revolution many died, and revolutions around the world did not happen and couldn’t have if people hadn’t died.
You also must be one who thinks we can fix our Government, and save the country by voting. Seeming to forget that we have been voting all while it has been falling down around our ears.
You also must assume that that IRS person who died was an innocent, when they chose to work for the IRS.
Get some help. You are advocating killing folks because they went to work.
Thee IRS is the toll booth for the Magnificent ‘merican Murder Machine machine.
The only message that crashing a plane into a government building sent was that the left is full of crazies. The right will now be able to justify their own terrorists by using this against us. Not only did the whacko injure and kill people, but the left will now have to either defend murder or move to the right to be excused from the act. There are better ways, such as in captjjyossarian’s response at 7, to make a statement without killing other people.
