U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions, a member of the House GOP leadership, has announced that he and his wife of 27 years are separating.
That’s right: Yet another “family values conservative” (where “family values” means sticking it to mothers and kids) is well on his way to getting a divorce. Quelle surprise. NOT.
It’s even less surprising if you remember this little part of Sessions’ past:
…it seems that at least two of Norm’s fellow Minnesota Republican officeholders, Michele Bachmann and Erik Paulsen, were among the beneficiaries of Texas Republican Pete Sessions’ Forty Deuce strip-club fundraiser for the PAC that gave them money. (Seems that Sessions is in tight with casino and strip-club operators.)
Sessions’ fundraising PAC is called the “People for Enterprise/Trade/Econ Growth“, and here’s the FEC data for Bachmann ($2500) and Paulsen ($5000). Wonder how many other “family values” types got Pete Sessions’ stripper money?

Among all the other ricidulous things our US Congress is, it’s always Perpetual Summer Fuck Camp.
The only wives who aren’t abandoned for eager/younger/tighter/juicier, in a congressional career, are the Bayh and Daschle types whose wives are also players in the money mob game.
I’ve worked for these people, am a DC lifer and know absolutely whereof I speak.
They used to say that Democrats have more fun, but considering the stories about Goopers in the last couple of years I’m not so sure about that.
Sessions: That’s right, we do a Las Vegas fundraiser every year and not only raise money, but see Las Vegas. It’s a beautiful town.

Sessions spent more than $5,000 at Kane’s club that night in March, according to federal disclosures. Those reports show Sessions spent another $2,100 on his hotel.
$5,000 at a strip club is stupid but believable $2,100 for a night at a hotel room though…he brought a stripper to his room.

I figure since it’s still just a separation (for the time being) that he might exhibit some restraint. The fact that he announced this as a Friday news dump would indicate that he’s trying to do a sort of modified limited hangout, for you Watergate fans out there.
Oh indeed. You’d have to be insane to think you could get away with stepping out on somebody like Hadassah Lieberman or Teresa Heinz Kerry. Though Mark Sanford thought he could get away with stepping out on Jenny — then again, he was a governor, though he wanted to be a senator and even president come 2012.
The assholes in DC are basically whores to begin with, so why should a little loose living on their part surprise anyone?

The Christians have an image problem they can’t preach what they don’t follow and expect to have any Cred.
Yes there are stupid people who fall for this crap about 30% of the population but when the economy is tough and people need jobs the last thing I want to hear is some jerk tell me he wants to cut my SS and Medicare to give the rich a tax cut so his rich friends can buy him strippers or $350 bottles of wine.
Even the 30%ers can’t ignore economic realities much longer. We will have a revolution.

I have in (albeit from unreliable sources) that hookers prefer GOP conventions to Democratic because they make more. They do not like that they have to perform more/kinkier things however…

Jefferson Beauregard (tiny dancer) Sessions is in the Senate, from Ala. and while getting high marks on most gaydars, is a father and grandfather.
And violate the FIRST rule of the GOP? never happen.
I’ve heard from somewhat more reliable sources that the liquor dealers hate GOP conventions. They’re buying their alcohol through the hotels. (On the other hand, a science fiction convention, which buys soft drinks and water by the pallet, makes the distributors happy. People will go out to find liquor stores, if they want wine or beer, rather than pay hotel prices. Or bring their own, like the people with the chili vodka.)
Thanks. Actually, I was unacquainted with J. Beauregard Sessions. My gaydar is inaccurate, apparently. I was probably just looking for any redeemable qualities.
