Breaking news — Minnesota’s gay community, in the person of John Medeiros, has officially apologized to Amy Koch, Republican state senator and former Majority Leader in the Minnesota state senate, for causing her to ruin her own marriage by straying with a staffer widely rumored by insiders to be Michael Brodkorb.
The apology starts as follows:
On behalf of all gays and lesbians living in Minnesota, I would like to wholeheartedly apologize for our community’s successful efforts to threaten your traditional marriage. We are ashamed of ourselves for causing you to have what the media refers to as an “illicit affair” with your staffer, and we also extend our deepest apologies to him and to his wife. These recent events have made it quite clear that our gay and lesbian tactics have gone too far, affecting even the most respectful of our society.
Both Koch and Brodkorb are noted for their opposition to marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples.

I love it when hypocrisy is exposed!
Senate Republicans have declined to name the staffer, but rumors began flying this afternoon that it was Republican powerbroker Michael Brodkorb, Koch’s communications chief.

PW on a fast read before I looked at the link I thought Amy was a Woman also I was uncertain whether Gay Activists were fake apologizing for leaking a straight or gay affair. Many readers myself included don’t read every link maybe this information should be included in the main post?
Crap Sorry PW I saw the Man’s picture first at the link its a straight affair glad I went back still how do Gays cause a straight woman to have a straight affair?
She opposes marriage equality, claiming it somehow threatens “traditional” marriage.
The “apology” is a snarky way of pointing out that she is the one threatening traditional marriage by embarking on an adulterous affair.
Koch, Brodkorb, and their fellow Republicans campaigned this year to put a constitutional amendment on next year’s ballot to define marriage as the union between a man and a woman, thus forbidding gay marriage. Sadly, the amendment comes too late to prevent Koch from straying from her own marriage.

The GOP needs to vets its people more if they want to use family values and anti Gay hate as a wedge issue. Is it really to hard to find faithful GOPers in office to put up anti Gay bills?
Oh wait Newt, Cain question asked and answered.
“Gays made me fuck my subordinate! Help, help, I’m being oppressed!”
Oh, Teddy, you’ll love this:
Thanks! Kudos for this response from the gay community in MN. Hilarious.
Shorter Amy Koch: Gays & Lesbians are responsible for me being a philandering skank.
PRICELESS!!!
Maybe Gays should push to prevent cheaters from ever getting married again because they threaten Gay and Straight Marriage:)
Amy and Newt might complain at first but when they think about it no more divorce worries!
This is like bank robbers causing kids to steal from the cookie jar. Everyone has their own piper to pay for their own actions. And, Koch is paying.
But I thought spreading your legs for a Republican who’s not your husband was the traditional definition of traditional marriage.
If only Family Values GOPers like Newt, Amy, Cain, Vitter etc were not so sexually repressed they might be happy with their marriages. Their anger at others being free to do what they want to do turns to resentment and the desire to force others to be like them.
Of course once they get power and or wealth they realize they can afford to do all the things they dreamed about doing.
Free People sexually choose to get married after indulging sometimes a little sometimes allot we shop around until we find something we want and when we don’t want it anymore we leave.
They buy/marry the first thing their friends, family, culture would approve of and then go through life thinking what about him, her etc.
I think everyone here is looking at this the wrong way. This is not an illicit affair but more likely a friend with benefits relationship. yea, that’s it, they were just helping each other from straying. A purely Repug traditional, fundamental, bible-thumping, holier-than-thou relationship. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least the gays admitted they were wrong. There is some hope for the future. :p
The epitome of hypocritical maggots like the Church during the middle ages. Do they sell penance?
LOL. Just expressing their patriotism.
I am so thankful that somebody, finally, is held to account for their actions. Kudos to the MN gay community for holding themselves accountable.
The *Roman* Church sold indulgences (not ‘penance’) during the Middle Ages, in part to get funding to build St. Peter’s basilica, the Eastern Orthodox Church did not.
Unfortunately for Rome, this practice was among those that led to the Protestant Reformation beat down.
The reason I never got married is because I was always worried that someday gays would get married and ruin the whole thing. /s
But – like Newt -
They cared so much for this country their patriotism led them to stray, albeit the final push came from all those gays destroying hetero marriages.
