Crooks & Liars cues us in to a great opportunity. From sea to shining sea and all the way across it, we can show some love to Barack Obama’s grandmama, who is dealing with very serious health circumstances.
The Senator will be flying to visit her, but we can lift his wings with our own expressions of caring.
As C&L notes, please, send postcards rather than envelope/cards for ease of relaying our warm wishes.
Send to:
. Mrs. Madelyn Dunham
. c/o Obama for America
. Honolulu Headquarters

. Honolulu, HI 96814
I’ll be sending my own grandmama-to-grandmama message today…one of the highlights of my year was introducing Barack to my five-year-old grandson in Grand Forks at the ND Dem-NPL convention.
I owe Madelyn Dunham a great big thank you for all her years of lovin’ and rearin’ the man who inspires so many, especially a starry-eyed little boy.
.
P.S. No postcard? No excuses! Print out a favorite scene or family picture on card stock or photo paper and there’s your postcard. A 4×6 card is only 27 cents postage. Warm some hearts today…the Obamas, yours, and mine.

What a sweet idea PS, thanks fro spreading the word.
Who doesn’t love getting postcards?!
Thanks for this. I’ve been reading “Dreams from My Father” and Toot comes off as an incredible lady.
I hope she is absolutely deluged with a tsunami of cards to read and relieve the long hours. And that she has a front row seat on Jan. 20.
What a great idea.
When my cousin turned fifty, I wanted to do something unique for her. At the post office I saw a pack of 50 postcards, each one featured a state with the image of the USPS’s state stamp on the front.
I addressed them all to my cousin and put stamps on them; then I looked for a city or town in each state that was related to her life, like Katy, Texas, for example.
I put each one in an envelope and sent it to a reliable business or public entity in the locale, like a library, with a letter of explanation; and asked the recipient to drop the postcard in the mail for me.
Her family had a great time as they came in, once they figured out what was going on *g*
Your post reminded me of that little enterprise. Was worth the effort
Each of us in our own unique way can contribute to the effort, whether volunteering in the campaign, or contributing dollars, or displaying yard signs, or sending a postcard….
and remind me to tell you about my insta-evangelizing waiting in line at the takeout pizza place tonight….
