Once there was a truly great newspaper in Minnesota.
Then it got bought out.
And purged its best talent and kept the execrable.
Now, it’s just another right-leaning, truth-suppressing, slanted rag of yellow journalism.
Media Matters has part of the tale.
.
If Coleman and Bachmann and McCain or any of ‘em win on November 4, it’ll be due in sizeable part to the abysmal failure of what was once iconic journalism in the Land of Sky Blue Waters.

the gray lady is next, she is bleeding money and there is nowhere for her to go but down
I am hoping the family would rather lay her to rest then sell her to murdoch, but she will be with us for not too much longer
though she has too far to the right and I have not read her in some time, it will bring quite a few tears to these tired eyes when she takes her final bow
The Strib endorsed Coleman, noting his trend to bipartisanship which they hope to see continue.
That trend started when his numbers started tanking.
And as for ending his negative ads, the NRCC has one of the most stridently negative ads ever run in a Minnesota election airing against Franken…just when Coleman said he was going to stop going negative.
A sad litany, Prairie, oft repeated in this land, in this nation we love and cherish, where deliberately enforced ignorance and untruth are, too often the “Daily’s” fare …
‘Sinister Daily Crimes’ is the name applied by a good friend of mine, quite some years ago, to the newspaper of my ‘hometown’; unfortunately, such appellation appears to have ever broader ‘application’.
The role of the media in the deliberate destruction of the principles of this nation is undeniable.
Will it be acknowledged?
Um, not by the perps.
There is no accountability by the post-mortem navel gazers in this one, methinks.
But nice to point to the Anchorage Daily News’ endorsement of Obama.
The Strib’s endorsement of Obama, coupled with their rationalizing endorsing Coleman seems to me looking at the direction of the bandwagon and climbing aboard…for both Senator and newspaper.
