Dear Malia and Sasha –
Congratulations to you and all your family. We are looking forward to your family becoming the First Family of the United States.
We know this will mean a lot of changes for you and your family. A big move from Chicago to Washington, D.C. New friends to make, a new school to attend.
And there is that new puppy. Now we’re pretty partial to cocker spaniels. [psst, if you want one just as cute as ours, you can email me for the breeder's contact address at prairiesunrising at gmail dot com]
We hope that you both enjoy the grand adventure you are beginning, and we thank you for sharing your Dad with all of us.
We’ll do our best not to be too demanding on his time, and we’ll do our best to help him lead all of us forward to better times.
With love from the Sunshine Family.

Great letter, thanks PS.
I think–but am not positive–they’re going to rescue a dog.
I’m sure there are cockers to rescue!
good for them if they go with a rescue.
FunnyD
We have been in the process of trying to do a puppy rescue. Our kids jumped up and down to find out that they are going to be sharing in a new puppy experience the same time the new First Family will be sharing in this.
BTW, I melted at the way Barack and Michelle responded to Biden’s youngest granddaughter. What a sweet moment.
Got a link for the melty moment with Biden’s grandchild? I missed that.
Adopting a rescue dog can be a good thing…there are certainly more than enough to go around. Whatever puppy they welcome home, be sure he or she comes with a crate if not housebroken!
The grandchild in our lives spent election night in the ER getting his broken arm reset…woebegone little guy in his hospital bed in the picture…I’m planning to frame that pose with the pic of when he met Obama last spring in Grand Forks…our family’s Obama experiences.
I’ll try and find a YouTube that caught it. It was so cute. Brief, but cute.
Digg it!
What a great open letter, Prarie Sunshine!
