There will doubtless be much muttering about Nancy Pelosi "caving" to George W. Bush on the bailout for the big 3. Caving’s supposed to be George’s speciality. But I guess that only applies to his idiotlogical neocon diehard lobbyists determined to rip the gold teeth outa the cadaver on its way to the grave….
(Anybody else think that if the car guys, the politicians, the media and all the rest of the great chatterati had called this a loan package instead of a bailout, the sell would have been easier?)
Anyway, back to Nancy. Did she "cave"? I guess if you call recognizing that you’re dealing with an arrogant, stubborn, stupid, willfully ignorant idiotlogical zealot for the have-more’s, so you bow to reality thinking we’ll do the best we can till this bozo goes back to Texas and we then we can try putting the economy and the rest of the country back together again….then yeah, I guess she "caved."
I choose to think of it as recognizing reality and thanking God he’s going to be Laura’s mess-only soon, not the rest of us. And good riddance.

Thanks PS.
I doubt that Laura wants him; not too sure about Barney, either.
Hey Prairie Sunshine. Just catching up with the comments…
you may be on to something here: http://oxdown.firedoglake.com/…..login=true
We have a campaign of this nature going on here in New Orleans for the current USA. It is floating around the internets. Good Dems are falling for it and trying to convince me.
Personally after following the USA scandal I say clean house entirely. The fact that people were part of Bush’s DOJ should disqualify people from service from now on.
There is no way to know who has politicized the justice department and who has not. The mere fact that they were in said justice department means they may have done so because it was standard practice under Alberto Gonzales.
Posting here because the comments are closed on that diary.
I hope you get this Prarie Sunshine:
Two articles found on google very quickly on people trying to keep New Orleans USA Jim Letten. (Mind you I think he has done a good job on the surface, but we don’t know everything and never will.)

They have Sen Mary Landrieu saying it in public.
Thanks, I know there’s bound to be some posturing to keep random USAs in place, but my radar goes off when, as in the ND example, it’s someone so closely linked to the Gonzales team within DOJ.
And on the subject of the car deal, I’m thinking I read/heard somewhere that Chrysler is privately owned? Is that true? Who benefits if they get a bailout offer–or if GM or someone gets enough funding to buy them out?
