Rainforest Action Network’s Jenn Breckenridge posted around 8:00 p.m. EST that the Wisconsin State Police had arrived at the capitol building in Madison, Wisconsin, joining the protesters in solidarity against Gov. Scott Walker and his attack on state employees’ collective bargaining.
The move may have come in response to an apparent order by the state’s assembly to close the capitol building at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. RAN’s Ryan Harvey said the state police are rejecting the order and are planning to sleep in the building along side the protesters.
The police officer says in this video,
“Let me tell you Mr. Walker, this is not your house, this is all our house.”

A very positive development. Go Wisconsin!
Nice indeed, more law n’ order, please.
God bless em!
Thanks for the video. Pretty strong statement that the police are not interested in playing monkey boy for the Koch brothers.
Every day I am more and more inspired by the people of Wisconsin. I’m so proud of my home state, I could pop : )
On Wisconsin!
Forward!
Somehow, I missed this diary and the fact that the state troopers as of Friday had sided with the dissidents . . . HOW DANGED KEWL!!!!
Thanks Rayne . . . rcc’d always . . .
Heh, so if state troopers won’t adhere to Gov Walker’s order to clear the Capital Building . . . then it’s game over other than calling in National Guard.
N I doubt Guard Troops would engage or try to disperse state troopers and all the other law/security forces aligned with the dissidents . .
This is sweet . . . no news here in Sacto as of 2:45pm Sat our time about a Sacto Event which I didn’t know about until two hours ago . . . organizers of the WI Support Rally were hoping for 5 thousand to turn out at the Capital.
Not a peep from any of the local tv yet, haven’t checked radio, but nothing yet online, either . . . .
But there’s a chapter recently formed for labor rights issues and I now know about it . . . . I’ll be hitting the streets soon. Been waiting for this for A LONG TIME!
Thank you Madison, WI!
Heh, had to watch that video again . . . man is that grand stuff!
*G*
Walker is in such deep shit I see no way he can remain in office unless the GOP hammer him silent, completely silent . . . and force him to back off any and all issues.
N even then, I’m not so sure he can remain in office. I mean, he gets booed out of restaurant! Other businesses will refuse him service (dry cleaning, etc).
He can’t walk around anywhere without being booed . . . . his family likely ostracized in public and at schools . . . . no way this guy has the guts to take that shit standing up . . . he will cave . . . no matter HOW much money Koch’s give him . . .
N I SURE hope this protesting puts an end to Walker’s thought about selling off state energy producers to Koch Brother holdings . . . . I’d also like to hope that Koch Bro Lobby Office gets picketed till it shuts down . . .
SO much to hope for again!
I can almost smell the Jasmine . . . .
Thanks so much! Cops for Labor. I had to watch it twice, too. Great stuff. As a former career civil servant who worked in law enforcement, I’m burstingly proud.
