Join us tomorrow, August 17 from 7-8pm EDT to see what all the buzz is about!
One of the most exciting and well-received benefits of our membership program are our incredible webinars. Twice a month or more we are lucky enough to have guest speakers come and speak exclusively with our members. Our guests have ranged from Congressman Alan Grayson to Daniel Ellsberg to Nancy Altman of Social Security Works, and have covered a wide array of topics. Last week, Michael Moore joined us unexpectedly and his comment suggesting Matt Damon as a third party Presidential candidate has spread like wildfire.
This week we are opening our doors to visitors of FDL and supporters of our petition to help Lt. Dan Choi, an outspoken activist against “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. The Department of Justice is putting Dan on trial on August 29 for protesting in front of the White House.
Dan’s veterans benefits are also in jeopardy. The Department of Defense is demanding that he pay them $3000.00 for not finishing his enlistment after getting kicked out for DADT, and have turned his account over to a collection agency.
We would like to invite the entire FDL community to speak with Lt. Choi and his attorney, Yetta Kurland, on a conference call tomorrow. Join us to discuss what we can do as a community to support him at a campaign briefing call on Wednesday at 7pm ET. This will give everyone the opportunity to attend a great presentation, and participate in an interactive question-and-answer period. You’ll also get the opportunity to have an exclusive look at the way we run webinars and special guest conference calls.
This will be a one-time only open event. If you would like to receive invitations to our future member webinars including a discussion with Adam Kanzer of Citizens United, a presentation by Margaret Flowers and Kevin Zeese about the October 6, 2011 demonstration, and Krist Novoselic and Rob Richie to talk about cleaning up our electoral system, join our membership program today!
