Larry Wilkerson writes a guest piece at The Washington Note, and it’s well worth reading for anyone who wants to better understand how Cheney used:

  • the institutions of government,
  • the power of executive appointments, and
  • a division of OMB that oversees regulatory standards

to eradicate energy innovation, deny good science (including climate change), and perpetrate generational theft of natural resources from mining to timber to fisheries.

And just to underscore the nature of Cheney’s destructive actions: he stole from future generations by appointing and then protecting a sequence of foxes to the henhouses.

In this respect, Cheney’s version of Republicanism was closer to what Nero might have enacted; why not fiddle while the forests burn? After all, you can surely take it as a ‘loss’ on taxes.
Teddy Roosevelt must be rolling in his grave.

Must read.
