I voted for President Obama in the last two elections but the more I hear and read about how he has aggressively fought to keep his Administration secret and how he has endorsed the killing of American Citizens without Judicial Over-site the more I have come to regret it.
I used to think that Baby Bush was the worst President we have ever had but Obama is getting pretty close to the top.
It is really disturbing that the Government, Federal, State and Local, is becoming more Brutal and Militarized. It seems to be harder and harder to tell our Democracy from a Police State as the lines become more blurred with each day and that is really scarey.
It truly amazes me that the average Citizen doesn’t seem to really care about what is going on in our Government now and may not care until it is way to late to do anything about it.
I am heartened however that there does seem to be more and more Organizations that are questioning the Unconstitutional actions of this Administration.
I think we dropped the ball when we did not hold Baby Bush accountable for his illegal and Unconstitutional actions and have set a very bad precedent for future Administrations to follow and we can see that the present one is doing just that.
I fervently hope that We The People can get back control of the Government before we lose the right to do so and watch helplessly as the U.S. Constitution is destroyed before our very eyes.

Thank you for that. It felt honest.
Many more people need to understand the dangers we face to everything that should serve the common good, and to understand that the establishment political parties, R and D, are not our allies.
Thank you for adding your voice to the conversation. Recommended.
That “we” is the problem. “We” never were given the opportunity to, other than the 2004 election–and how would have President Kerry have handled that accountability.
I’m glad more Americans are starting to wake up and recognize the truth of what you say. Rec’d
Think of it as a learning opportunity, in ’06 the Dim’s won the House on the promise of shutting down the wars and holding Cheney/Bush accountable. That was cut off immediately by Pelosi and the Dim leadership. When given control of the three branches of the elected Federal Government, the “Party of the People” passed every Corporatist, Republican dream legislation they had fought against as the minority (Heritage Foundation “health care reform”, codifying TBTF with Dodd-Frank, Barry’s two years in the Senate were a steady voting record of Corporate giveaways) and proceeded to whine like spoiled brats when losing control of the Government in ’10 for ignoring and betraying their base.
The key to true reform goes much further than either Corporatist Party, it will not happen with the current voting system or the “choice” of these two parties.
Nice diary, felt passionate.
I, too, am passionate about freedoms, and that’s why I couldn’t vote for Obama twice. I did vote for him once, but last time I voted for Jill Stein and sleep well with that choice.
Barack Obama is worse than Bush ever dreamed of being. He used the history of people who came to this country in slave ships to get where he is, and then after he got there, he became the worst slave master this country has ever seen; and all under the cover of deception.
It is not only Obama’s disgraceful record on allowing for the endless wars, and for the militarization of American police and now our skies, but also his economic policies.
Eighty percent of what any Administration accomplishes has to do with appointments. Obama’s economic appointments are a disgrace. He installed Geithner over at Treasury. He let Bernanke stay at his post in The Federal Reserve, and then re-appointed him.
Trillions of dollars have been siphoned off to the Biggest Financial Firms in the world, while most people think that a mere 700 billion TARP funds was the issue. And now, to make up for this siphoning, it seems to be “necessary” to raid the Social Security Fund and MeidCare and other social programs.
Our Corporate-controlled press doesn’t undertake any type of education of the public on this issue. Only people delving into various spots on the internet, like Firedoglake, Naked Capitalism etc end up having a clear picture of what is really going on.
Now and then I think of when we were in it together
Like when you said you felt that yes, we could
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your campaign
But that was ’08 and it’s an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of big lie
Until impeachment by the end, always the end
So when we found that you could not tell the truth
Well you said that we would still look forward
But I’ll admit that I’ll be glad when you’ll sit at The Hague
But you didn’t have to lie to us
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing
And I don’t even need your kind of change
But you treat me like a detainee and that feels so rough
No you didn’t have to stoop so low
Have your friends rendition me and then deny my FOIA
I guess that I don’t need that though
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know
Now you’re just somebody that I used to know
“We” have no excuse for our actions in voting for Obombem. He has done plenty worse than turning the US into a police state. He is a total fascist, and like most fascists, he has pursued aggressive slaughtering of innocents abroad, in AT LEAST 8 countries. Didn’t see you mention that. Good with that as long as we aren’t talking Americans killed?
