The local haunts are abuzz with news. On Thursday night a cross was burned in the yard of a bi-racial couple in Warren Center, PA. The local paper has not reported it, although the local grapevine reports the presence of PA state police and FBI.

Given the reliability of the sources, and the increasing display of confederate flags along these country roads, I think that this sad news is probably true. If so, isn’t this at least as shockingly newsworthy as the girl who got kicked off the school bus for changing seats?

So, here’s a little light on the face of racial terrorism in my neighborhood. I just had to say something in the hope that the mandate for equality, justice and peace might come to our (red) neck of the woods.
