As the adage goes: when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

For four years Barack Obama has told us who he is through words and deeds and I for one believe him.
I believe when he executes his power over life and death he considers his lack of uncertainty a thing to be admired, not a callousness bordering on pathological to be reviled.
I believe when in his every speech about the Mortgage Crisis he mentions before all else “deserving” homeowners he considers the American people the root cause of our own misery and his job to protect the Bankers from our sins.
I believe when he boasts of his negotiating skills, revealing his cards upfront with a flashing neon sign highlighting his final position, he thinks his play is anything but ritual pre-surrender a Kabuki artist would find beyond the pale.
I believe when he gave the Pedophile Protectorate veto-power over women’s bodies during his back-door political ACA maneuverings he gave the greenlight to divide women up by our ladyparts endangering our health for his own personal political gain.
I believe when he substitutes feelings for facts he gives no thought that others will follow his lead and chart their own course, dragging the Country down into science-denying, both sides do it, facts don’t matter hell.
I believe when he raises bipartisanship on high but lifts no finger to elect more Dems he is defining “bi” as him on one side, Republicans on the other, and a Democratic Majority something that’d only screw his chosen narrative.
I believe when he vows to continue his same austere course in his second term despite the mountain of evidence this path is driving the Country seriously off-track, he reveals who he truly is: a man intent on taking his place in the pages of History he has written for himself and nothing and no one will get in his blinkered, set-in-stone way.
The next four years a continuation of the last four…
- Rule of Law replaced by Corporate Coronation
- Our Constitution replaced by Town Square Militarization
- Public Works replaced by Infrastructure Deterioration
- Middle Class American Dreams replaced by Hand-To-Mouth Stagnation
Believe it.

Excellent framing, rosalind: We must believe his *deeds*, not his handsome *words*.
Rec’d.

Persecuting and abusing whistleblowers. Indefinitely imprisoning people with no charges. Due process-free assassinations of citizens, even teenagers. Continuous killings of innocent people in multiple Muslim countries.
This isn’t just what Democrats do. It’s what they now boast about, what they campaign on, what they celebrate. That, as much as anything, is the Obama legacy.

Well put.

Thank you. Highly rec’d. I really needed to read something other than Big Dog drivel.
Agree 100%
I believe you’ve hit the nail on the head.
Well said.
Rec’d. Excellent post. Tonight he’s gonna really pile on the crap cause he knows he has to get the bullshit, errr word out.
Handsome is as handsome does.
No politician can win without a base, and as a result of the deeds you mentioned, he ain’t got one.
Well said indeed !
When he speaks to accept the nomination his actions have spoken so loud I can’t hear a word or lie he’s saying.
He’s the head of America’s first family and is acting like Don Corleone instead of that Bailey guy from It’s a Wonder Life. Nice example sir .
Unfortunately, he seems unworried about that.
Exactomundo!
As jaded as I am, my mind still boggles at the number of people fawning over all the bullshit being spewed by duplicitous people desperate to hold onto power.
Dems or Repubs, I’ll be damned if I’ll support politicians who work against my interests; I don’t care how charismatic they are and I don’t care how wonderful their public speaking performances are.
He has a considerable base of loyalists who don’t seem to care what he does. Look at all the unions who are endorsing him.
As long as he can successfully exploit the lesser-evil canard, he will win.
The election will be in the hands of the independent vote and that is a big wild card considering the broad spectrum of views within that group. Barring some unforeseen scandal or massive screw-up by one side or the other, it’s gonna be a close race.
I believed when BO made hundreds of campaign promises during 2008 and after election, actually laughed when someone asked if keeping such promises was important, BO showed us clearly what he thought of the average voter.
BO has broken about 95% of his campaign promises, including the most important ones. THAT is enough to show us clearly where we stand with him and what he is.
Vote third party. Don’t vote for a lesser evil that may actually be a more effective evil.
Thank you. Recommended.
Thank you!…the next four yrs will be a continuation of the past 12yrs….Just take a look, the same major players(Pelosi,Reid,Obama &the Clintons) will be returning to the same positions to stomp ordinary Americans.
The same old corrupt creeps..
Recommended! Thank you.
Facts and deeds do count for something. BMcGarth is completely right that we are in for 16 years of disastrous failed policy endorsed by both democrats and republicans.
(thanks all, and thank you backstage for the front page promotion)
I totally agree with what you’ve said. This is a nice post. keep it up!
I believe he’d much prefer a Republican majority in the House and Senate to provide himself and the corpo Dems plenty of cover (someone to blame) while they continue to sell American citizens down the river.
It’s gonna be a close race, and close races are decided by foot soldiers; I don’t believe he has them, there is a total lack of enthusiasm. Close races are lost by small percentages. These polls make a lot of assumptions, and they would be correct in “normal” times, but these are very unusual times, and people who can not stand Barack Obama can’t openly voice it for various reasons. Those people will not vote for Barack Obama, and that’s why election day is going to be a suprise, even for Barack Obama.
x3!
great post.
I have my suspicions you may be right, and if the Repub ticket had just a little bit more charisma, I would join you in that prediction.
But people love their celebrity actors and Obama has the edge in that department so I’m sticking with my safe, non-predicative, prediction :O
That thought has occurred to me far too many times before.
I’ve heard O’Bummer defenders defend him on this point – that he wouldn’t do X if he knew it would hurt his reelection. Yeah, wouldn’t that be a convenient line if it’s in the bag.
I truly believe that the small percent, nationwide, who observe what we observe, will be enough to prevent his re-election.
deeds speak louder then words and w/Obama his words are pretty shrill these days!
wowser! great post!
I was actually enjoying the democratic convention until the republican speaker showed up at the end. Obama still does not get that he has a base problem and if his base does not turn out to vote he goes home. Also, for him to not even mention that he needs other democrats in the house supporting him is foolish. Even if he wins, if the republicans control the house he still wont get any thing done.
I agree, he may lose badly. His lack of regard for his base will haunt him in November.
From your mouth to tbogg(‘s) and his bots’ ears, hopefully.
Good riddance, Barry. Enjoy all the millions you’re gonna make in the future for selling out the people who had faith in you.
Just look at Bubba. He’s rolling in money and all he did was pass everything the GOP hadn’t been able to get through on their own, especially the destruction of welfare.
But the guy who serves Social Security up on a platter? Hell, he can write his own ticket. And Michelle will be right by his side, bless her craven heart. Her mom won’t be eating cat food.
President Mitt Romney is a small price to pay to get this turd out of the White House.
I believe what I see, and I’ve seen enough to know that Barack Hussein Obama is not a “Democrat” (whatever that even means anymore), nor does he work for the 99%, much less the traditional “base” of the “Democratic” party. I believe that Obama works solely and only for the 1%, and I believe that Obama is sociopath, who’ll say *anything* to anyone if it means he’ll make money and stay in power.
I believe it’s time vote Third Party… again. I believe I don’t give a shit whether RMoney or DMoney “wins,” because I believe that I’m fucked either way.
Thanks for the post. I believe it’s totally on target.
I believe him when he states he is not Martin Luther King and is not worthy to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. It must be burning a huge hole by now, wherever that medallion is located.
