As some of you know i rescue animals and cook for pets on my web cooking show(have run out of money this year to update however) So i was riding down the street out here in the country ,when i came upon a dead squirrel in the road.It was till entact,50 SUVs and heavy trucks hadnt squashed it yet…I pondered for a sec,and turned my car aroound,and went to move it off the road.I took a plastic bag,and stopped on the shoulder…what a little beauty( it was 9 degrees outside(whoosh)anyway beautiful,long bushy tail(no reference to chimp),perfect little hands,oh he/she was a beauty! so i knelt down to pick it up,and as soon as i touched it,it roused itself,jumped up and scampered away….I WAS ELATED!I always carry cat,dog,bird food…so i found the tree it scampered up,and dropped some dog food (mostly corn)The lesson this gal learned yesterday,is the title of an old song….STOP!!!,LOOK,LISTEN TO YOUR HEART!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL!

We touch others in so many ways: words, stories, songs, a nod or wave, a real smile, a hug, an outstretched hand. They cost us nothing and we never realize the riches they may bring to someone who needs just that.

Sadly – but you DID save it, you know. If it had just laid there, there might have been some thoughtless driver who could have run over it and really killed it. Your touch contacted the place that the little guy needed to wake it up enough for it to escape to a safer place. There is a belief(one of the more arcane ones) in Judaism that there are a certain number of people in the world, whose characters and good works are what keeps the Universe from spinning out into the darkness…the only problem IS, those people don’t know who they are…and we don’t know who they are. it could be any one of us…anywhere. Which is why, when we have an opportunity to do good and right, we need to meet the decision and do it because we just might be ‘that one’.

Because of Your kindness to animals you should change your screen name to HappilyYes!! That’s a lovely tale. I often see people pull over and
even stop traffic to help a turtle across the road. Makes me smile.
I have a big orange male cat and he’s a sweetie. One day he came to the
back door with a tiny bunny in his mouth. I raised my voice to such a
pitch he was startled, dropped the bunny, so I grabbed the cat & brought him in.
I went outside with broom, dustpan, bag to do the disposal. I touched the bunny very gently with the broom and he got up and ran off. Happy me and happy bunny.
