A senior IDF officer was filmed hit a leftist activist in the face with an M-16 rifle on Saturday. In the video, which was posted by the International Solidarity Movement on YouTube on Sunday, Lt.-Col. Shalom Eisner is seen beating youths who took part in a pro-Palestinian bike ride in the Jordan Valley. (…) Lt.-Col. Eisner was filmed hitting one of the activists in the face with his M-16. “We did not expect any harassment on the part of the Israeli soldiers, we just came for fun,” one of activists told Haaretz. “I tried to talk to them, to say that we only want to enjoy the beautiful road and the Jordan Valley in the springtime, but we were unsuccessful. The activists were beaten badly, and the officers just told us we couldn’t be in that area.” Four activists who sustained wounds on their faces and backs were evacuated to a hospital in Jericho, while three more youths whowere beaten refused to receive medical care.

Based on watching what the IDF does to Israeli protesters, and worse to Palestininan and foreign protesters, the control tactics tend to move from Israel/West Bank to the US.
A gun to someone’s face? Expect it at some OWS protest near you…. Keep your cameras ready to capture the assaults. Activist might want to invest in some tiny little cameras — and find ways to sslvage the memory cards after any cameras are taken….
You’re right. If you catch something egregious or worse, on your cell phone cam, send it to a niche ASAP. If you know you have caught a crime being committed by a law enforcement “professional,” back away from the confrontation as soon as you have documented it, and download it to a safe site before the PIGS catch

Years ago, when I’d first started blogging about the I/P (pre 9/11), I’d read an article that had mentioned that the West Bank and Gaza was a real ‘testbed’ for many of the new Civilian/Military tactics, weapons, and equipment, being advanced by US/Israel MIC apparatchiks for suppressing a ‘hostile’ population…! Since then it’s been proven time after time, in instance after instance, our entire DHS Security Kabuki theater has already played out in Ramallah, Hebron, E. Jerusalem, Gaza, ad nauseum…! 8-(
I heard that Mossad guys are allowed (at least on one occasion) by our CIA to impersonate the CIA to squads of US troops in Iraq, to lay out a mission in front of the troops, and then they all jump in a plane, fly to a different location all together, and end up committing war crimes.

If we compare this with the treatment of the Palestinians and the official reactions to that, you would have to read Netanyahu’s subtexts as, “it’s one thing is to hit an Arab in the face with a rifle butt and quite another thing to hit a blond goy in the face with a rifle butt, especially with cameras rolling”.
