We are, as I’ve written previously, programming double headers on Sundays and Thursdays in order to accommodate the BlogTalkRadio rules, which require that, in order to take advantage of our 120 min. daily allotment, we record our hour long programs back to back, with one url for the block. For those of you listening ‘in the future’ from the archives, you’ll want to note the ‘permanent’ urls – of some of the programs – which take effect 24-48 hrs after the live broadcast. We’ve set them up and the links are in the copy. Just dormant ’till the start date. One way or the other, you get to listen to the folks you love to read.

Here’s the schedule for Sunday, March 13 through Friday, March 18.

Sunday, March 13 @ 9pm eastern|6pm pacific •VIRTUALLY SPEAKING SUNDAYS | Kevin Drum |Jay Ackroyd

A counterpoint to the Sunday morning talking heads.  Generally, two writers from the VSS media panel discuss developments of the week, often highlighting issues neglected or misrepresented on the Sunday morning broadcasts. This week, Jay Ackroyd sits down with MoJo’s Kevin Drum. Fun fact about Kevin: he is credited with inventing catblogging. More seriously, Kevin was a blogosphere pioneer when, after a stint in marketing, he went online as Calpundit in 2003. Prior to joining MoJo, he blogged at the Washington Monthly’s Political Animal.

Listen here at or after 9pm eastern |6pm pacific, Sunday March 13. The VSS media panel:  Avedon Carol, Cliff Schecter, CS KendrickCulture of Truth, David Dayen, digby, Eve GittlesonJoan McCarter, Marcy Wheeler, Stuart ZechmanSusie Madrak, and watertiger.

Sunday 10pm eastern|7pm pacific: VIRTUALLY SPEAKING SCIENCE |Alan Boyle |Robin Snelson|Alan Stern (updated to insert seriously cool pic of AS)

MSNBCs Alan Boyle and Space Studies Institute Robin Snelson talk with planetary scientist Alan Stern, principal investigator for New Horizons, NASA’s mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt, headed to a Pluto flyby in 2015. Associate VP at the Southwest Research Institute and leads SwRI’s suborbital space research effort. Organizing chairman for the annual Next-Generation Suborbital Researchers Conference and serves as an adviser for suborbital space ventures.

On the agenda: the next frontier for spaceflight as well as what’s up with Pluto, exactly 81 years after the dwarf planet’s discovery was announced.

Listen here at or after 10 pm eastern |7 pm pacific, Sunday March 13.  Beginning March 15, listen here.

Mondays @ 9pm eastern | 6 pm pacific| •VIRTUALLY SPEAKING SUSIE | Blogging Wisconsin.

Journalist and class warrior Susie Madrak explores the serious concerns and lighter-hearted fancies of a host of guests, always with an eye and ear for the daily lives of working class people.

This Monday, March 14 - Susie Madrak talks with First Draft’s Jude Toche (“Writing is only real on the first draft.”) reporting from Wisconsin.  Listen at or after 9pm eastern. Monday March 14. Update: Susie and Jude joined by Dave Johnson from Seeing the Forest and Campaign for America’s Future, and Chris Savage from Eclectablog, who filled us in on the profoundly anti-democratic moves of Michigan’s Gov. Rick Snyder.

Thursdays @ 8:00 pm eastern | 5:00pm pacific • VIRTUALLY SPEAKING A to Z |
Jay Ackroyd and Stuart Zechman explore movement liberalism (as opposed to 3rd Way or centrist liberalism) in both an historical and current context; expressing liberal values. Sometimes with recorded and live voices of members of the VSS media panel, citizen activists and electeds. These guys get pretty exercised and it’s always interesting. If you’ve been getting the idea that ‘centrism is an ideology,’ likely you have Stuart to thank for the insight.

This Thursday, March 17 Listen LIVE at 8:00 pm eastern | 5:00pm pacific. Starting March 18, listen from the archive

Thursdays @ 9pm eastern| 6pm pacific   •VIRTUALLY SPEAKING with JAY ACKROYD –  Woody Tasch

IT pro and economist-by-training Jay Ackroyd chats with opinion makers and authors in media, politics, science, academia, foreign affairs, etc. From PZ Myers to Will Bunch, from Marion Nestle to John Campbell to Tom Levenson to Lenore Skenazy, Jay has a remarkable ability to engage in meaningful conversation with an extensive network of well informed, articulate folks whose voices should reach far and wide.

This Thursday, March 17 – Woody Tasch – founder and Chairman of Slow Money – and Jay talk about local investing strategies for healthy and vibrant economies. Listen at or after 6pm pacific |9pm eastern.

Updated to add: Slow Money is a 501(c)3 non-profit formed in 2008 to catalyze the flow of investment capital to small food enterprises and to promote new principles of fiduciary responsibility to support sustainable agriculture and the emergence of a restorative economy. Tasch is Chairman Emeritus of Investors’ Circle, a nonprofit network of investors that has facilitated the flow of $134 million to 200 sustainability minded, early stage companies and venture funds. For most of the 1990s Woody was Treasurer of the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation, where he pioneered mission related investing. “Inquiries into the Nature of Slow Money” was recently published by  Chelsea Green.
