Introducing Virtually Speaking

5:35 pm in Uncategorized by California Sherry

Thanks to the excellent Ellie Elliott, readers of FDL may already be familiar with Jay Ackroyd’s Virtually Speaking Sundays, the Sunday evening podcast that brings together two writers from a media panel of twelve to discuss developments of the week, highlighting issues neglected or misrepresented on the Sunday morning broadcasts. It’s the panel that makes the show. Jay has enrolled Avedon Carol, Cliff Schecter, CS KendrickCulture of Truth, David Dayen, digby, Eve GittlesonJoan McCarter, Marcy Wheeler, Stuart ZechmanSusie Madrak, and watertiger. We literally amplify their voices so that you – hopefully a growing number – get to hear the writers we love to read. Which is why I’m posting at FDL, Washington Liberals and, once I wrangle the link system, at DailyKos.

You may not know that there are now six regular programs and we are fielding five a week. So tonight, at FDL and Dkos, and as the VS Co-Producer, I am posting a week-at-a-glance.  I hope for a little attention and a lot of patience as I figure out the best way to do this… and intend to post weekly.

So, here’s an overview of the ‘what’ the ‘when’ and the ‘coming attractions.’

Sundays, 5pm pacific|8pm eastern •VIRTUALLY SPEAKING SCIENCE with Cosmic Log‘s Alan Boyle. Alan,  Space Studies Institute’s Robin Snelson and guests explore the often-volatile landscape of science, politics and policy.

Ok, got all that? Two Thursday program, two Sunday programs, one on Monday. Fortunately, they are all archived at BlogTalkRadio. You can download from BTR, subscribe free through iTunes or listen on the web, when it’s convenient. Also, there’s a calendar. As Susie says: ‘bookmark it.
