It has been a tough couple of weeks for Democrats and ethics. Between Rep. Rangle having to step down as Chairman of his committee and the complete disintegration of Rep. Eric Massa’s personality in the face of his bizarre behavior becoming public it is easy to see why the traditional media has been starting up the chorus of “ethics will kill the Dems in 2010”.
It is pretty galling to see Republicans lining up to start pitching the idea that Democrats are corrupt and out of control when they have done nothing to clean up their own house, even after the defeats of 2006 and 2008.
All this makes today’s release of a new add by the DNC the sweeter. You can see it below:
For those that can’t play it at work, it talks about Sen. David Vitter’s dallying with prostitutes and highlights the fact that Sen. John Ensign is the subject of a FBI investigation for allegedly steering his mistresses husband lobbying business in violation of federal law, and of course trying to cover it up.
This commercial is going to be running in the D.C. area cable stations. This is clearly a shot across the bow of the Republican Party. It is, Mark Warner’s way of letting the Republicans know that Democrats feel like they have the better case in terms of corruption and what they do about and are willing to up the stakes in this fight any time.
The floor is yours.

They really have a nerve.
Chutzpa, gall, or sociopathy take your pick.
all that and most notably the sociopathy
Both parties are hypocrites to discuss anything unethical about each other. Both parties are corrupt backstabbing arrogant worthless millionaires playing their little games cuz they were bored with sitting at home making millions from their corporations.
Why does DeLay pop up in the ad? He was Cleared of all Ethics charges and convicted of nothing. A cheap shot from a desparate and splintered party. Do they really think we are that dumb? The tax man cheating on his taxes is clearly the worst. But all the ad is, is a distraction from this disasterous health care bill that they can’t ( and oh please God) won’t pass.
