Another drug issue is the $40+ billion that Americans now spend on psychiatric drugs, that amount exploding in tandem with the explosion in Americans identified as seriously mentally ill. Something is terribly wrong when the cure seemingly produces more of what it is supposed to be curing. Robert Whitaker&#039;s book is a good place to look into the problem:
