Today I dropped in on the health care rally in DC. Everyone who’s anyone was there (not literally, but it certainly felt that way when I was there).
Howard Dean was there. We got to ask him if he thinks the Democratic leadership is prepared to move forward without Republicans and if he agrees with the statement that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer made at the health care summit that everyone shares the same goal of covering all Americans:

Billionaire’s for Wealthcare were there (video 2 in the player above).
And, one of my personal favorites, Edward Kimmel, the man who braved hordes of teabaggers at the 9/12 tea party in DC (he had to be escorted out by police that day, the reception was much nicer today) (video 3 in the player above).

Nice vid, thanks for coming out!
Thanks.
It was a great time, been far too long since I’ve been to a large, energetic rally.
Excellent! How did you concatenate the three videos?
I just used the youtube playlist feature. Since FDL asks readers not too embed a whole bunch of media (faq requests one embedded video per post) I embed a playlist so so I’m only using one player but still get multiple videos.
If you have a youtube account you can easily make playlists (check the dropdown menu under your youtube name at the top right of every page). You can also include other people’s videos in playlists you make.
Take-away quote: “This could be a Republican bill.”
I agree. It’s a give-away to corporations, with just enough crumbs thrown to the rest of us, to make generally clear-thinkers like Dean feel they have to support it.
I don’t want to be unfair to Dean. I saw him on the Rachel Maddow Show last night and sympathize with his hope that the bill may be made more progressive as it is hammered out. I just don’t see any evidence that this will happen and believe the final bill will be less, not more progressive. That is why I do not support it.
Yes, were all being played by these folks. Once this horror passes it will NEVER be changed for the better, to the contrary it will made far worse once the Health Mafia lobby moves in on it. They will be on the hill 24/7 buying, cajoling, screwing, blowing whining, dining taking it in the butt if need be to get what they want. BIG BIG BIG $$ is at stake with every word of this bill. They’re counting on the rest of us moving on and they’re right we will.
