Dianne Feinstein released a new ad today for the NO on Prop 8 campaign.
"In my lifetime, I’ve seen discrimination, and I see it again in Proposition 8. 8 would be a terrible mistake for California. It changes our constitution, eliminates fundamental rights, and treats people differently under the law. Proposition 8 is not about schools or kids — it’s about discrimination, and we must always say no to that. No matter how you feel about marriage, vote against discrimination, and vote NO on 8."
Thank you, Senator Feinstein, for taking a clear and public stand against Prop 8.

Thank you.
Dugg and recd
Thank you, eg
The occasions on which Feinstein does the right thing are few and far between, so it’s especially good to see this one.
Dugg.
Thank you!
Yes, she deserves thanks for this. It’s also particularly effective, as she’s more popular in the more conservative areas of California.
Now she needs to cut an ad against Prop 4.
Yes. Prop 4: also bad.
-EDITED IN MODERATION-
A pox on her house for all the shit she’s been behind.
And yes, thanks for the support here, but . . . she’s gotta go, along with Pelosi and Boxer.
And if she surfaces for Governor, I hope every single human in CA begins to recall her voting record on FISA, Patriot Act, and more.
We MUST do better . . . . we must.
~~~ModNote: Edited for content.~~~
Speakin of Prop 8, where the phook ARE Pelosi and Boxer? And Matsui?
It’s ONLY a main barrier to be struck down in the fight for the civil rights of this gay partnership thing.
Man, it’s like it was the mid 60’s all over again . . . fighting for rights we all thought we had.
GOBAMA.
Here’s hoping, and may Prop 8 go to the hell it deserves next Tuesday.
Boxer
It’s about time Feinstein got on the right side of an important issue again.
It’s good for DiFi to take a public stand, reflecting her long held personal stand. After all one of the first same sex marriages was held at house when Jo Daly got married –long before it was recognized as legal.
I saw this last night and was frankly startled.
Rather than praise DiFi for her belated effort, which she deserves, I wondered: “What caused her to finally shift her ass for our side?”
was pleasantly surprised by her taking a stand and even more so by the straight forward nature of her words.
Good on her
Teddy, any word if the Mormon phone banking has been moved to Arizona?
The last two days I have been getting multiple calls from a Utah area code, they don’t leave a message and last night they called and I was really rude….. just answered the phone “what the F*ck do you want” and that pretty much shut them up…… had to repeatedly ask what they wanted and they said never mind and hung up.
Hey katymine!?! woo hoo!
I always answer their question with a question. It generally smokes the caller out of its little hole in the sand. If not, I rinse and repeat, never answer their questions, but try not to bellow at them (that part’s hard), and then insist that they please remove our number from their call list, period. Sometimes have to rinse and repeat that too.
thank dog for caller i.d.
LOL.
Amwendment 2, too.
Wingnuts are such hypocrites. They get so amped up thinking that “libruls” will challenge the constitution, e.g. 2nd amendment, and yet they’d change the constitution in a heartbeat if they thought they could limit people’s personal decisions, e.g. same-sex marriage, the right to choice, etc.
didn’t she still evidence a soul and conscience when she was mayor
of SF? perhaps that old DiFi resurfaces every now and then.
she would perhaps be much better as governor than as just another compromising sellout in the senate
This ad was on television a lot last night. I imagine she’s decided to run for governor, and she knows she wouldn’t make it through a Democratic primary without taking a stand now against Prop 8.
But her voice is very respected in the most conservative parts of California, so if any elected official can make a difference with those voters, and older voters, it will be Feinstein.
When Feinstein stops reaping profit from this disastrous war I’ll think about paying attention to her once again, until then, fuck her and the monkeys that fly out of her yap every time she opens her pie hole.
I don’t need this twit to tell me how to vote on civil rights issues.
