Or maybe it’s even a snippy Condoleezzaa Rice, calling in to the NY Daily News from the West Coast to carp about Obama’s Osama ‘victory lap‘ that has somehow excluded his slacker predecessor who, after all, disbanded the CIA’s bin Laden unit.
“He doesn’t feel personally snubbed and appreciates the invitation, but Obama’s claiming all the credit and a lot of other people deserve some of it,” the source added.
“Obama gave no credit whatsoever to the intelligence infrastructure the Bush administration set up that is being hailed from the left and right as setting in motion the operation that got Bin Laden. It rubbed Bush the wrong way.”
Or could it simply be W’s shame at leaving such a huge promise unkept?
Really, all the people likely to be identified as ‘high-placed sources’ are so ill-mannered, petulant, and Manichean that it is difficult to pick one who might have voiced these petty grievances about Bush’s desire to stay out of the spotligth on National Return to Ground Zero Day.
I suppose it could be Laura, or even Darth. Or any Cheney spawn. Even Andy Card is sounding lip-curled since Sunday night. It has a Ginni Thomas ring-a-dingy to it, too.
Anyway, place your bets in comments. Gawker asks, “Is George W Bush Irked Today?” but I’d like to know: who from Team W do you think is leaky?
