Ladies and gentlemen, the utter hypocrisy of the GOP’s claim to be the Party of Life, in two acts.
NBC’s Brian Williams encounters the bloodlust of today’s modern GOP: In the presence of former First Lady Nancy Reagan, the Simi Valley debate audience cheers the sheer number of executions Rick Perry has presided over.
And, at Monday’s Tea Party Express GOP consulting firm & CNN extravaganza, Compassionate Conservatism on display as Wolf Blitzer presses Ron Paul on whether a previously healthy but uninsured person should be left to die since he didn’t take personal responsibility and managed his risk wrong:
Don’t ever tell me these people are pro-life or compassionate. They are vicious killer-lusting sociopaths who’d rip your throat out for an Ayn Rand first edition.

IF there’s an American history — and that’s a big IF — these two moments will be reviewed over and over by historians trying to determine if this is when the rank hypocrisy of GOP compassionate conservatism finally had its veil of lies ripped aside.
Thank you, recc’d. You took the words right out of my mouth. I am still trying to wrap my mind around both parts. Had Blitzer asked Perry the same question last night, we would truly have The Horror, The Horror, in two parts.
Question: Are these the same people that insisted on prolonging the suffering of Terry Schivo against her explicit wishes to the contrary?
Someone also said something about storm troopers on immigrants too, if I am not mistaken (although my overheated computer was crashing so I could be wrong). Who does that?
Who cheers like that? Who does that?
What kind of a hideous human being loses no sleep over the possibility of executing innocent people under his watch, and then turns around and claims to be ‘pro-life?’
How is it possible that I am breathing the same air as these people?
The Republican Party is absolutely committed to preserving the dignity of politically convenient human lives from conception to natural death. All others can get fucked.
There do appear to be certain inalienable, universal truths here in the good old U.S. of A.:
‘I never met a Republican who wasn’t a greedy, selfish, son-of-a-bitch.’
Thanks Teddy. Looks like the Old South has risen again and this time they are winning.

reccd TP
yea they are hypocrites too
doremus35, I can’t see what this has to do with the old south. Would you explain.
Did you read Morning Swim? I was essentially inferring this concern. I noted that Blitz just asked the question in the wrong context.

This is wonderful news. The issue is out in full sunlight, and future “debate” hosts will have to ask more probing question as it make gripping TV, and will increase ratings.
I cannot conceive of a better outcome, than having this out in the open.
Oh I do so like Hubris. It’s such a good spectator sport, especially when her sister Nemesis takes control.
The question posed isn’t just hypothetical, it is fantastical.
Where the hell do you buy a health insurance policy in the U.S. for $200 to $300 p/mo , Canada yes, Mexico yes, Nicaragua yes, here in America? Please.
Try the present Republican-Teabaggers unholy trinity:
Threatened Secession, state’s rights over federal authority, and rabid racism.
I do believe a bit of a war was fought a while back over the same basic concepts.
Do you agree?
Agreed Synoia this will turn Moderate voters off huge unemployed with health insurance is not code for Black these days its everyone its you or someone you know.
