There’s a Balkans-type war headed to the USA. It doesn’t have as much to do with ethnic cleansing as it does with ideological cleansing. They want to kill us all. They may couch their hatred in euphemism, but if you read what I have, they’re ready to start shooting people. Those crazy fucks who screamed “KILL HIM” at Sarah Palin rallies in ’08 weren’t kidding.
I’ve been reading a lot of reaction to the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare and the wingnuts are talking about locking and loading. I know many of you are weak and don’t want to “stoop to their level,” but they’re going to bring it. If you care about your families, you need to be prepared. You may think I’m crazy, but just read some of the more radical wingnut sites. They’re preparing.
I wish I could say I believe I won’t live to see it, but if Obama is re-elected (and I surely hope he is), they may not be able to contain themselves, and they may start shooting politicians, pundits and other people they don’t like. If you don’t believe that can happen, keep in mind the first shot has already been fired, into the brain of Dr. George Tiller. If you don’t think they’re like ants or cockroaches, you’re delusional.
I know many of you will report this, try to get me banned, all that crap and you may succeed, but you need to think about your families and your future. At my age, there’s a fair chance I might not see it but most of you are younger than me, and the chances are you WILL see it. It’s going to get ugly and you can either prepare for it or be bulldozed by it.
I will not be bulldozed. See you at the range.

I don’t think you’re crazy at all; as a single, older female homesteader in a fairly conservative, unprosperous, and not well-educated rural area, I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. Not exactly for the reason you describe, which I find myself now sitting up and taking notice, but because of my sense of an impending Mad Max scenario — which, after reading your piece, I consider less likely than what you describe. It’s something I’ve been getting closer and closer to doing, and yesterday, even, on the phone to my sister, as we discussed the fact that my brother had had his apt. robbed in Oakland and that maybe leaving my doors unlocked out here in the boonies was no longer such a good idea, I said I was thinking of getting a gun. Now, as I remember her saying, all naively antigun and everything, “you don’t need a gun,” I feel even more motivated to get one and learning how to use it, which a friend said he would help with. I find I also feel quite capable of using it lethally if necessary without flinching.
What would be a much better solution, however, would be this “Balkanization” in a nice peaceful process — the reactionary, pinheaded, superstitious, selfish “rugged individuals” could have their country or region; those with foresight, compassion, creativity, and intelligence could have theirs, and they’d live happily ever after, er, at least in a kind of standoff — until they had to start coming “over here” to make up for their antigovernment prescription for failure.
By the way, it occurs to me that a yard sign for Jill Stein advertises the fact that Obama wouldn’t be my fault.

So you want Zero re-elected? If that comes, the scenario you pose is more likely to be replaced by one in which our military and militarized police do the shooting — at us liberals and progressives. If you claim the authority to indefinitely detain or kill American citizens strictly on Presidential fiat, why not do so if the serfs get uppity? No reason at all.
Well, I certainly don’t want that POS to be reelected, and I’M NO TEABAGGER, and neither is BP. That #%(* POS in the WH is just an Idi Amin wannabe, issuing “executive orders” that give him the right to act as sole judge, jury, and executioner of anyone he doesn’t like (first calling them “terrorists” of course). And Willard is just like President Zero, only white — they’re both standard-issue corporate doormats, well paid to suck the money out of our wallets and into the coffers of warmongers and mass murderers frenzied by empire building in the name of profits. Hey, how about that TPP, eh, which is NAFTA on steroids. Say hello to your Chinese overlords, and kiss your Social Security and Medicare good-bye, thanks to the relentless efforts of President Zero to NOT do a goddam fucking thing for We The People, the 99.9% who don’t have the assets of several small countries combined. The man is a fucking con artist who can give a good speech — he’s made Frank Abignale Jr look like an amateur, taking imposterism all the way to the White House.
By the way, I seem to recall a recent long diary by Jane Hamsher in which it was clearly spelled out that attributing motives to other posters (“You like Willard more?”) was instant grounds for banning.

I do not want Willard elected. I’m no big fan of Obama, he absolutely is a corporatist, but I don’t want abortion outlawed, I want it expanded. Yes, you read that right, I want abortion expanded. Too many people are having too many kids without the financial or emotional wherewithal to raise them at ALL.
I also don’t want to return to the Bush policies, that created this mess (well, it started with Ronnie Rectum) at all. I want the troops out of Afghanistan today.
