CNN’s "Senior Political Analyst" Bill Schneider has published a list of "Political Turkeys" for 2008. Bill Schneider tells us that "Turkeys are foolish creatures — overstuffed, noisy and self-important. A lot like the politicians on our list of Turkeys of the Year." Hilarious!
But then, Bill Schneider has some balls calling anyone else "overstuffed, noisy and self-important."
Schneider isn’t actually a journalist. He’s a Hoover Institution and American Enterprise Institute affiliated star player on the "Best Political Team on Television" who specializes in mindless, extraordinarily shallow horserace and Beltway-insider "analysis." He also can’t do math and wears stupid hats.
Lists like Schneider’s are pretty much the epitome of the kind of "journalism" produced by Our Liberal (AEI-affiliated) Media — just an endless blooper reel to be smirked over. They can’t understand or explain anything in its complexity, and so the country goes to hell and what do we get? Lame sub-Mr Blackwell level bitchiness. Is this the real story of the mess that is the American automotive industry? "Arrogant auto executives who come to Washington looking for a bailout. In their private jets." You’d almost never know that we’re looking at the potential loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs and a possible depression, since all we hear about from CNN talking heads and their blathering equivalents is this trivia about these fucking private jets.
God I hate this shit. Who the hell is CNN to be calling anyone else "overstuffed, noisy, and self-important"? Didn’t they just blow a great big story, the financial meltdown, which blog readers saw coming years ago? What if they’d done their goddamn jobs back when doing some real reporting might have done some good? And didn’t they whiz the Iraq war disaster in exactly the same way? They have some balls to be snarking at anyone.

I saw that CNN Turkeys “article.” And thought he really had to stretch it to come up with two reasons to have Obama on the list but didn’t find anything about Sarah Palin worth putting on there.
The best thing to do about the MSM is to ignore them. Watching cable news makes you stupid and irritable. You find yourself being dragged down to their level of incompetency.
Eliot Spitzer was #1 on that list? Jesus. Like you said, Palin wasn’t even mentioned, and neither was Bush. But he had to mention Obama for “balance”, I suppose.

President Hoover has a think tank with Alum’s like that? Did everyone they hired ride the small school bus?
Our worst on the economy President ever has a think tank? Presumably to redeem his name?
Herbert has had his chance to redeem himself with the Bush Presidency, it failed the Hoover Institute should close shop now.
I hate how people like Schneider are taken seriously as real journalists and “intellectuals”, when they’re about as intellectual as that turkey I ate 2 hours ago.
Shorter CNN: “We sell news like McDonalds sells hamburgers. Fast, greasy and guaranteed to rot your internal organs.”
Our media need to be slow roasted and basted in their own juices until they are well done. At present they are miserably done. On what planet does an AEI fellow get to masquerade as a “journalist” and not be publicly labeled as a wingnut hack.
No Hank Paulson on the list either.
After graduating law school, Bill Schneider, thru a family friend, offered me a job doing statistical research. About a day after I accepted, he called me back and said a grad student had volunteered to do my job for free, so he withdrew the offer. When he told me this, I was shocked not at the fact he withdrew the offer, but the way he did it – so smug and matter of fact. Thanx Bill.
Bill Schneider and Phil Gramm….Never seen in the same room together, hmmmm…
;>)
LOL!
This is OT, may be controversial but I need to vent.
On another, non-political board, some wingnut was saying how we don’t need “political alienation bordering on civil war.”
Well excuse the FUCK outa me, but the ‘Pukes have been the perpetrator of said alienation for more than 40 years.
I don’t speak for anyone else, but the fact is, I want a LOT of payback for the last eight years. I want the Dems to put on some nice,l heavy Nocona boots and (figuratively speaking) stome down on the necks of the ‘pukes or a good long time. I want the fairness doctrine re-instituted so fuckheads like Hannity, Coulter, Billo the Clown and El Porko Grande have to face an equal strength of smackdown.
I want the republicans to be humiliated for years to come. I want their lives, political and personal to be never-ending hells from which there is no escape.
At least for a while. It’s payback time and I sure hope the dems go for a full measure.
It is shocking, shocking that Schneider’s list just coincidentally has more Dems than Repubs on it — including two entries for the guy who, you know, just won a pretty convincing victory in the presidential contest. And the person who was, of course, the turkey — nay, the turducken — of the year is nowhere to be found. Asking why, of course, will just get Thers mad at me, too, so I’ll offer this Thanksgiving whiskey soaked bacon instead.
Hoover seems to like hiring economic failure’s and war criminals maybe we can get them declared a terrorist organization?
they do “pal around” with people who have killed shocking numbers of innocent civilians…and tortured, and on and on
Schneider comes across as the Mr. Blackwell of politics – a total self-promoting buffoon.
