I do like Jane’s thinking though, split the 20%er vote because as nice as Obama is nothing he does will bring them over. Still in how many districts did we lose by 5% or less?

Your party could become the new third party next election and if the GOP breaks up after that election you could become the new regional party. You can’t be a National Party with a StormFront endorsement this is not the 80′s when Reagan getting the Klan’s endorsement is no big thing, mention Stormfront and Minority voter turnout goes up!

Your side the Corporate side appeals to Moderate voters by not screaming religious/culture war and being Reaganesqe enough to use Racial Code words when blaming Dark, Poor people for the economy instead of Free Markets Lord of the Flies Capitalism for our troubles.
Cast aside Ron Paul! show that you are serious about not being a third party, an icky Pawn that Jane is using to divide the GOP, an in House Troll to boost online comments. (have comments fallen off that much since the election is our ad revenues in this economy down that much?)

I agree government programs should be tested to see if they are working as planned giving some or an alternate benefit or actually harming people. These tests should be objective otherwise GOP hacks will kill every program, deregulate the economy More but of course never complain about our Troops getting Electrocuted in the Shower because Dick Cheney is to cheap to hire a UNION Electrician!
I think that government coming up with funny economic numbers and or cases for war should be exposed by the press a NON CORPORATE PRESS! Big Media should get the anti trust axe because they not only dropped the ball on Iraq…they gave Judy Miller a Pulitzer for her lies!
Heck CNBC had Rick Santelli rant about Obama giving money to homeowners GOP code for Dark people then a Comedian calls him and Cramer out about that and the economy. The Main Stream Media blows it on the phony case for War and the Economy the 2 biggest stories of the decade.

Rick Williams writes in complete, grammatical, properly punctuated sentences. If you really want your criticisms to strike home, you should show some token effort to do the same. It’s pitiful that you’re asking the moderator to fix just one typo. Also, go easy on the insider references. It took some headscratching to figure out who the Dave in your title is.
I say these things because you raise valid issues, but it’s just inconsiderate to force readers to wade through linguistic vomit to try to find them.

Yes, I know who Dave is, and I’m sure there’s all sorts of intrigue, about which I can’t be bothered, regarding his departure from FDL (and C&L). As long as he continues his essential work at Orcinus, the universe remains in balance.

It sounded like for a second there that you were marking down the election of Obama as a progressive victory?
I must have missed the memo where he stopped rhetorically rallying progressives and then actually throwing them under a seemingly unending caravan of buses.
Anyway, a coalition for directed purpose is going to be pretty key to breaking the existing oligarchy, so if people like Rick Williams can get behind criminal prosecutions and equal application of the law (even if ultimately they want to see an utter lack of law eventually), we should probably capitalize on it.
If our interests are the issues, and not simply trying to become the new-establishment, then those kinds of coalitions are healthy.
I’d rather have a good idea and bad grammar rather than the other way around. It must be noted that when everyone thinks the samething that leaves plenty of time for editing and polishing the Message.
We won the election because the GOP had bad ideas about the war, the economy, everything and no amount of message control in the MSM could save them.
As far as Dave goes I don’t know why he’s gone don’t care to know either.

No Dave wrote about Racism allot now we got Rick Williams who follows Ron Paul, Ron as Dave pointed out was endorsed by Stormfront and some anti immigrant groups.
I am giving Rick a chance to walk away from Ron Paul’s racism. I am pointing out that Libertarians won’t ever be a national party with Ron as their leader.
Unfortunately, with bad grammar and unclear references, we can’t tell if you have good ideas or not, and don’t really care enough to wade through the thick, muddy prose to find out which way you’re going.
Libertarians are just idiots. Of course we all want freedom, and of course I want serious people (like the ACLU and Center for Constitutional Rights) to work with on issues of freedom. (Like for instance, are Obama and his gang still routinely taping EVERY phone call and email in the domestic USA ???)
But Ron Paul capital-L libertarians simply want the freedom to add poisonous alum to the white flour they sell you (it makes it whiter and it’s cheap), just as so many merchants used to do in the good old days of un-regulated capitalism in Britain and America in the 1600’s and 1700’s.
Capitalism is a great idea, I’ve been a free-lance entrepreneur for 29 of the last 35 years — so I have good idea of the many, many ways that bigger capitalists can screw you over. BUT CAPITALISM DESPERATELY NEEDS FIRM REGULATION TO MAKE IT WORK.
And the Libertarians, in their refusal to understand that, make themselves idiots who are difficult to do serious work with.
