From the “I knew it all the time” book:
Remember all the discussion about why we are having contractors cooking and cleaning and electrocuting(woops, doing electrical work), etc. in Iraq? Or, the discussion about NSA using Israeli companies to do all this “hoovering’ of intelligence? Why is it that good old American government employees are no longer doing the stuff they used to do and do it well?
Well, it got outsourced to companies like Halli-Cheney-Burton, right? And how did that happen? Well, the Labor Dept. LIED.
“President George W. Bush’s Labor Department misled Congress in an effort to prove outsourcing jobs to private companies was more efficient than assigning the jobs to government employees, according to a Government Accountability Office report released Monday.
“The report (look on the link for the pdf) found that the Department used fictional projected numbers to improve "savings reports" — even when real numbers were already available. And when the government did find private firms to take a government job, that employee generally was either reassigned to another task with the same title or promoted.”They lied. Lied, lied, lied. They lied to reach into your pocket and take more money out of it to give to their buddies KBR and Halliburton and goodness knows who else. They stole your money. We’ve been conned. Lied. Lied. Lied.

The saddest thing is that this does not surprise me in the least.
yes, but they are too big to jail.
Oh brilliant! I’m going to repeat that line.
You all may digg this post right here.
ohhhh.. at some point ..all this has to make ya sick .. i am so tired of the obdurate mendacious bush cabal .. it’s like chinese water torture .. jan 20th can’t come soon enough ..
I’d love to be the person to cut off Elaine Chao’s computer access, give her the one cardboard box and tell her she’s give 5 min. to leave the building. considering how well the Labor Dept. has been working under her ‘management’, I think we can tell that it won’t be any worse off if she were to leave the building. Elaine — you my dear(to paraphrase KO)are a liar.
Eline Chao lied, oh my, what will Mitch say?
GOP’ers have always hated the Labor Dept. It’s what they would call a oxy…, a contra…, nonsense, using taxpayer money to finance a government agency that promotes labor’s interests. Pshaw. They’ve hated it since progressives, egged on by muckraking journalists, forced Congress to set up the labor department not long after Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle hit the bookstores.
Their first response was to set up the Commerce Dept, to compete with it for government attention, funds, staffing and prominence. But really. Bush appointing Elaine Chao to head the Labor Dept., is what he did across the federal government. Her leadership turned the Labor Dept. into a division of the Commerce Dept., itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of the US Chambers of Commerce. As if big bidness needed one more trade association. Perhaps Mr. Obama will have more regard for all his constituents.
The Democrats investigated some of this fraud in Sept./08. At that time, an Iraqi (ex-investigator) testified to $13 billion in Iraqi aid being lost, or stolen.
He said that investigations by oversight agencies also found that some of the money sent to the Defense Ministry was diverted to al-Qaeda in Iraq and deposited into banks in Jordan and elsewhere.

After these investigators started exposing the fraud, they were targeted and murdered. Iraq will not be rebuilt while Americans are occupying the country. The money that taxpayers are told is going for reconstruction is actually being stolen. Guaranteed endless war and profits when a government funds both sides. When you hear about al-Qaeda in Iraq being the reason for the US staying there; remember also that you..the US taxpayer are funding them.
When neither party will stop this theft, it seems that there must be a lot of ‘kickbacks’ going on. Maybe that is why the Democrats have given more than they were asked for when they voted to pass war funding requests from the Republicans? The larger the amount of money; the easier for it to disappear with no accountability.
CNN are union busters, too. A five year battle has just ended with the judge ordering that 110 union members be rehired, trained, and paid back pay.
