Yep, in New York State, everyone’s so pissed, their eyes have turned yellow, but when you can’t even get your hometown newspaper’s endorsement, it’s time to pack up the shopping bags and go back to Buffalo. We may be mad, Carl, but we’re not insane.
“Of the two major-party candidates, only Cuomo has a chance of bending the state toward rational decision-making. It won’t be easy and Cuomo will have to guard against the old-boy network that helped to produce him, but he has the skills, the background and, if his campaign platform is to be believed, the desire and fortitude…[Paladino's] Two big problems: He doesn’t have the temperamental balance to actually serve as governor. Anger, alone, won’t cut it. Loose cannons — which is basically what 69 percent of voters in a new poll believe Carl Paladino to be — don’t succeed in leadership positions.
What is more, even if he could succeed, he has ruled himself out as a fit candidate as governor. His despicable comments on gays and lesbians, alone, demonstrated that he cannot be entrusted with representing New Yorkers equitably. The racist and pornographic e-mails he sent suggest the same about minorities and women. Those are not trifles; they are threshold tests. Paladino flunked.” Buffalo News Endorses Cuomo
Remember, folks, these are remarks coming from The Buffalo News, not some Lefty blog operated out of someone’s basement. Buffalo. Not Westchester. Buffalo. Not Manhattan.
Buffalo. Land of snow from November through May. The focus of all bad weather reporting for Weather.com. Land where the Sabers have played OUTDOORS on the ice in front of 40,000 insane (and bundled up) US and Canadian fans…and I think it was January.
When your hometown thinks you are a racist, sexist, homophobic asshole, it’s sort of hard to get yourself elected governor.

Carl definitely should crawl back under his rock.
But, unless he was just talking, Cuomo is going to dissappoint
the poor and middle class. He’s nothing like his father.
Don’t expect much. He’s going to be a downsized Obama.
Very, very, corporate friendly down the line.
One of the horrible things about this election is that our choice this time around is between someone like Cuomo…and a guy who doesn’t have the sense NOT to send out pornographic, misogynistic, and offensive emails. I’m not even going to discuss the number of historic buildings he and his companies have torn down in Buffalo, New York. The guy has no control. He has no thought beyond “Right NOW”. My son at the age of 12 knew more about ‘actions have consequences’ than Carl Paladino has.
Really? I didnt know he was tearing down historic buildings.
Ha, why should I be surprised?
They’re all monsters, every last one of them.
I guess the Crazy Train left the station. Everybody wave bye bye to Carl.
You gotta love the Republicans who go for these offensive types. I keep hearing, “It’s not your father’s Republican Party” — and ain’t that the truth!
recommended — thanks toby i hope this monster loses… by a landslide
Every time “monster” shows up, I read it as “mobster.” Can’t figure it out. :)
Toby, good, no-bullshit thread. Jim-Bob gives it both ears and a tail. :o)
I don’t know much about Cuomo, but New Yorkers do have one interesting gubernatorial candidate – from The Rent is 2 Damn High party.
Recommended! Are we now on east coast time??
That’s a hilarious photo. Thanks Toby!
Glad Jim-Bob is a fan!
I’m sure Rick Lazio looks at himself in the mirror every morning and says, “What’s wrong with ME?”
wouldn’t it be great if he got more votes than carl?
Once upon a time, the NY GOP had some folks with some vision — when Nelson Rockefeller was governor, there was a big push to invest in kids in the state; that’s how we got SUNY. But now? Whoa Nellie – it’s like they let all the inmates out of the state hospital.
Too bad, though, that Andrew Cuomo who should be handing out subpoenas to Bankers on Wall Street, is the only other ‘choice’.
Woops….thanks for the heads up. On normal clock now.
Wonder if this schmuck has any regrets!
Paladino? Let’s look at his record so far on the campaign. He says whatever comes into his head. He threatened a reporter physically when he felt that The Post had been behaving inappropriately with regard to the daughter he has with his former mistress (and who HE brought up in the campaign). He hit the ‘enter’ button on emails that never should have been written. This is someone who has no clue about the concept of implications for doing things. He does what he wants to do because he wants to do them; he does not think about what effect they will have on anyone else. I mean, let’s face it; any man who tells his wife about his mistress and oh, yeah, I had a kid with her – at the funeral of his son who has just been killed – has some serious emotional and psychological issues. The concept of ‘having regrets’ just isn’t on the damn radar.
You have to have a heart and a sense of right and wrong to have regret. Unless, it is something like “I regret not winning the lottery last night.”
Agreed. And I don’t think that Republicans have the regret gene anyway. If Bushie’s one regret is not taking down Social Security, I don’t think we can hope for better from the minions. I grew up Republican and I can’t imagine who these fools are……and neither can my 93 year old father!
Thanks for the update, linky’s and more Awnt toby . .
May he rot in the hell of his own making with the rest like him from coast to coast (Miller).
Teddy Partridge is upstairs!
Sunday Late Night: WaPo’s Capehart Shocked Log Cabin Republicans Support (gasp!) a Republican
He would make a great Halloween mask..he’s so ghoooouuuulishhhh.
Thank God this nut job ran in New York and not in a southern state, like Arizona or Alaska.
I read the interview with his wife and I found it devastating. I wonder if there’s anything to recommend him, at all, as a private person, a partner.
The Buffalo Beast must have endorsed him!
