Folks. Watch this.
All the way to the bitter end.
Even when Romney walks out of the frame and is still ranting.
Just keep listening. All the way to the end.
This guy is what the Republican Party has put up to be the president.
Now we know why he won’t go on The View or anything else.

He really is an unpleasant person
not someone who listens.
What I like is what a great “listener” Romney is — NOT!!!
Jesus, what a yammering blabbermouth.
And the “second coming” is going to involve MISSOURI?????
We are all screwed!!!
I’m not one to knee-jerk blame the voters but: this type of religious lunacy should preclude him from even running for president. In an enlightened country it would.
My caption on my FB share of the video:
He’ll do wonders in international meetings
Yes, some of them will agree with him, I would suppose.
Could someone please tell me what he said? My old computer/software doesn’t allow me to view video.
The second coming is split between Israel and Missouri. Honest.
Thanks, Toby. That was enlightening and sickening. I do not want this man anywhere near gov’t at any level.
Thanks Toby. Tweeted. Recommended.
I meant he’ll offend everyone
He’s of the CEO Class, who are never questioned. It’s exactly this attitude that brought America to the brink in 2008. And we can’t afford having another CEO in the Oval Office; W was bad enough.
I don’t care what he was actually talking about: anyone running for office who is arrogant enough to treat a radio interviewer this way should be disqualified from being dogcatcher, let alone Governor or — goddesses forfend! — president.
The A-merkan elite approve this idiot to keep proles hanging on for the apocalypse.
More importantly, the Mormon Church position on abortion is that no Mormon should have one. But (supposedly) if you aren’t a Mormon you have a choice. However, Mittwit believes that no woman should be allowed to have that choice because he says so. And if you don’t believe him – just look at his record while he was guv of Mass – he vetoed every choice bill that came up while he was there.
(I’m paraphrasing of course)
I could care less about where the second coming happens. This abortion stuff is what is important.
Jesus is probably begging his dad not to send him back ever.
Romney may not be likeable but McCain was really nasty and Bush was incredibly self centered and shallow. Kerry was not a nice man and Mr. Gore, although a nice guy was weird. At the risk of sounding liberal, Mr. Obama and Mr. Clinton have been the only recent presidential canidates who were regular guys.
How the hell did he get this far? It would appear that the inmates are running the asylum.
No one else wanted the job.
And….
Clinton brought us NAFTA and the repeal of Glass Steagall.
While…
Obama has brought us the repeal of habeas corpus and killing any Americans any time wherever they may stand on his say so.
If they’re regular guys, I’ll a so-called weirdo any day.
Thank you Twain and lokywoky @14.
So Jesus (and not Joe Smith) will be split down the middle with half in Israel and and half in Missouri? Will one get the right half and the other the left? Will it be a front back split, or a top/bottom?? I wonder how that will work? /s
And just think – he’s the best they could produce. I sincerely think that Newt would have been a better candidate – NOT president, candidate. He at least knows stuff.
Wadda ya say we give it a go as co-presidents? I highly recommend Spocko for press secretary. He can make the announcement. Then we can get busy getting our cabinet together. Shall we give it a whirl?
Aside from “clarifying” the Mormon beliefs about the Second Coming of Christ, he explains his strongly held belief that he had to oppose abortion and that opposing it for himself and allowing women to choose was not enough. He brags at the end how he vetoed (pocket vetoed?) any bills having to do with reproductive freedom like RU486, sex education and abortion. He also said something at the beginning that I am not sure I understood, but it creeped me out anyway—about he takes his Mormon religion very seriously, after all he IS running for president, isn’t he? What I thought he meant was that he is running for president to enforce his way of seeing the world as a Mormon.
Yes! You and me and Ron!
P.S. War crimes trials are NOT off the table!
Great! Have you told Ron yet?
Mittens is no kitten. He is a dangerous person. Women’s right are circling the drain right now. If he wins, we can kiss them bye bye.
I didn’t get that takeaway. I just thought he meant that it’s a serious endeavor to be running for president.
Gag! I’m defending Romney. I’ll be back after I go throw up.
well, I hope I am imagining things, but I have sent this link to several people. For anyone who may have been fooled by his carefully parsed campaign waffle words, this video should disabuse them of their gullibility!
Toby, what is the source of this video? And when was it recorded?
Oh my. Ignore the content. Pay attention the the mood and manerisms. Thurston B. is REALLY on edge. He will say or do something fatal to his campaign before Tuesday. Watch.
I agree with you about Mittwit wanting to enforce the Mormon religious view on the world. If you look at Mittwit’s little ‘peace speech’ from the third debate, and if you know a bit about Mormon theology (I do cuz my brother and SIL converted and have been trying to convert the rest of our family, gah!) it sounds like exactly what he wants to do.
I discussed this whole angle with my mom after the debate and we agreed that is what it sounded like. All sweetness and light but never forget that Mittwit was/is a bishop in the LDS church. He is ever after on a mission to convert the entire world, no matter what he says (he’s also a world class liar!). And that ‘peace speech’ sounded right out of the LDS playbook.
People in this country are uncomfortable with the idea of a Mormon elected to the highest office. They should be uncomfortable with the idea of how many Mormons are elected to ALL offices. And you have no idea how many of them are out there in school boards, city councils, mayors, boards of supervisors, state reps and senators, and governors already. Because for the most part – they hide who they are. On purpose. They really don’t want anyone to know that they are taking over all the positions of power. And I am NOT a conspiracy theorist on this.
WHO radio.Dec 2011.
to dyjech: thanks!
to lokywoky: Well I guess that explains why he walked out saying he didn’t want to talk about Mormonism. Months ago I read an article about a Mormon legend…something about a white horse, I think, that made it sound like a Manchurian candidate story (here’s the wiki entry). At the time I thought it was too tinfoil hat for me, but I never have forgotten it.
And what does Mormonism have to say about bald-faced lying?
Mare-eee.
I was trying to make it through all the comments before saying anything, but honeee you made me burst out laughing. I did. For true.
Okay.
Thank you so much for this Toby.
All I can say is Ach.
So freaking scary.
Group prayer. C’mon, let stew it.
(You can even pretend.)
Hey, I can’t watch; I just really have to spare myself since he makes me a bit sick. The smirk, lies….Scott Peck says in his book about evil that a lie is always at evil’s root. Im not sure how people learn not to lie; you just learn it, so you don’t.
Well since the whole religion was started by a total con-man I think you can take it from there…..
So what’s missing? Both the Old and New Testaments remind us to care for the vulnerable, the widows, orphans, poor, prisoners…..Those are the 47% he scorns. Is Mormonism as harsh as he seems to portray?
No worries about sounding liberal. Both Clinton and Obama are New Democrats, decidedly not liberal.
Arrrgh. Listen to him Gish Gallop.
Right!
Always a choice.
(Hi, B.)
You know, my eternal soul never got over the Bush v Gore disaster. And for some reason I have a similar sort of ominous feeling; not the Rom will win. But that we are in some really bad cycle, if that’s the word. A season that surely has not made us proud.
No. Not a pendulum swing either. Something grievous; something wicked. Not a World War. Then again, yes, a world class war.
This is exactly why we need a secretary of business!
Wait, whut?
Romney’s primary motivation – and those of his followers – is protecting their own sorry asses. That is all.
Authoritarian followers prefer social dominators to lead them. And social dominators don’t listen, they dictate. Their egos won’t let them do otherwise. Romney is a slightly better looking Newt Gingrich.
You’ll notice in the clip that he kept saying that it was his church that believed in such things. He never said that he believed in them. He did not take personal ownership over this lunacy. What a display of loyalty to his faith and church. I would bet a year’s salary that the folks who want to be President would sell their mothers into prostitution if they thought it would secure them the White House.
Mormon doctrine actually is very good about caring for the “lesser of these”. Although from my observations there is an unspoken caveat of “as long as they are Mormons” that kind of follows along. They are really good at caring for their own – others, not so much.
Mittwit seems to be of the group that has risen above the rabble into the stratosphere where such concerns are no longer his concern. I will note that this seems to be a common problem in most of the major religions so it is not peculiar to the Mormons per se.
Progressives have been praying for a Secretary of Business for decades and now our prayers have finally been answered. If we can just get Obama over the finish line, we’ll finally get that secretary of business we’ve waited such a long time for.
“And what does Mormonism have to say about bald-faced lying?”
There is always a special dispensation for those who add power and money to god’s team.
Lying’s ok as long as one hands over the keys to the US Treasury to the Mormon church.
So here’s a guy who actually believes that an apocryphal Middle Eastern rabbi will return from the dead, “descend in glory out of the clouds,” and rule the Earth for 1000 years with one foot in Jerusalem and one in Missouri. OK? And about half of Americans think he should be President. All I can say is—-Jeeziz!
What ever happened to the separation of church and state?
If anyone has an extra ‘Night of the Long Knives’ they don’t know what to do with, we sure could use one over here, comrade.
The ultimate insult to democracy courtesy of the good, upstanding American religious fanatics.
The gulag is but the wrong word away.
Fascistic theocracy anyone?
“And the “second coming” is going to involve MISSOURI?????”
Hell yes, you of little faith.
After all the Mormons are the original Jews.
And the rest of those Hebrew guys are just recent wannabees.
Welcome to Utah: ‘Leave your mind at the state line: Any form of independent thinking is strictly forbidden!‘ J. Smith
One of the tenets of Mormonism is that lying is acceptable if done in furtherance of the faith, and what could be more in furtherance of the faith than becoming the president of the United States? This is yet another reason that Romney, as he stated in the video, is not running as a Mormon and does not want to discuss his Mormon faith.
It seems that everyone who questions Romney – on any subject, even if they agree with him and are just asking for clarification – are browbeaten and bullied by him until they stop their questions or he stalks off in a snit. This is not a good personality trait for a president.
Yes, they think that the ends justify the means. And when someone’s faith is founded upon racism and misogeny the ends are bound to be bad.
I’d liken the differences between christians, muslims and jews to be an argument about j-walking. Meanwhile, the mormons declare by divine prophesy the right to mow down j-walker’s with their BMW’s.
