Haiku is a very flexible form. Seemed kind of constraining at first, but after you get in the saddle,……5-7-5 fits just fine: Just give it a try. It does not have to be a ‘perfect fit’ as you can see from no. 1. Post your haiku in the comments and we will call this a haiku General Assembly.

Control fraud is bad.
Does not it steal from my kids?
Put them in jail NOW!
Cool.
Found this at the Guardian in the comments. David Chalk writes poems as a social critic:
Workers’ Rights’
In the not-so distant past
Workers had no rights
To achieve them they organised
To win them they had to fight
From Tolpuddle and Unions
And the right to strike
Working folk won their rights
Against greedy financial might
But what they won was a victory
In a battle not the war
As some seek to re-set the clock
To what there was before.
What they won was fairness
And dignity for all
But these rights were limited
And then restrained and worn
And slowly these rights were reduced
Gradually made weak and small
And now financial privilege claims
They should not exist at all.
They say removing rights is necessary
It’s what our country needs
They say it’s to restore the economy
That such rights are economic weeds
Thus does greedy financial might
Try to steal what has been won
With lies and excuses about our plight
And what must be done.
Those who believe in justice
Those who support what’s fair
Must fight these lies with honesty
And forever remain aware.

It is not haiku, but hey, it is good!
Bill K. Black is good.
He works to expose the frauds.
He gets a gold* star!
*Real gold not the naked short ETF stuff.
It’s Loyalty Day
Bend your knee before the Flag
“Made In China”? Shut up!
Austerity wins,
Nothing for anyone sans rich.
Moral hazard lays bare.
Keep going, everyone!
Son, one hundred thous-
–and dollars in college debt//
Sister, thirty K!
the day for workers
occupy the oligarchs
freedom for people
food for everyone
healing now for everyone
peace now for everyone
Only day for pho-
to, so I had to go out.
Stupid fucking rules!
Protests bring the heat
This is what democracy
Looks like on the street
