For the last forty years, workers have seen their wages suppressed and kept stagnant, while their productivity soared. CEOs pressed for lower income tax rates and were successful in securing the lowest income tax rates in a century For themselves. There is rumbling that the rich need more… like raising our Medicare age from 65 to 67.
No deal.
Tax rates for the top income level need to go up. No cuts to our earned benefits, to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. No raising eligibility age for Medicare. No more givebacks to the folks who have been taking from us for forty years. But that’s not the end of this. We are not through with you, yet….Here’s what we want from YOU!
On Medicare, we want a public option for non-Medicare folks, a public option that works with Medicare to keep costs down. Allow Medicare to bargain for lower drug prices. Allow Medicare to compete to lower the costs of medical equipment and devices.
These are not my ideas. This initiative is from the AFL-CIO, a union that has been looking out for workers since before I was born.
Here is a number to use to call your Senators and Representatives, to let them know what kind of a deal you expect.

If you call the 888 number, they ask for your zip code, then direct you to your Representative’s tel no in Washington, D.C.. Not bad for those of us who do not have long-distance service.
If you live near where those who RULE us work, MoveOn is having demonstrations today and you can join up with them.
Have a great day! Go get ‘em.
Thanks. Rec’d.
very interesting article from Michael Hudson:

Credo just sent out a petiton as well…keep up the good work TT
Perfect. The health industrial complex and the politicians that serve them stand between us and a public option, much less universal healthcare. Every time they show their hands, we need to identify them and “smack them down.”
Matt Taibbi has a very interesting take on ACA and in his opinion there never any public option on the table and all Obama wanted to do was give money to the insurance companies in return for their support to the Dem party..Obama even dealt with the same healthcare lobbyist that W worked to get MEdicare Advantage and the drug plan through the congress.

Jeepers! We have found our liberal enabler of the day:
Derek Thompson. Please step forward to accept your award. TRAITOR.

Obama/Biden has been doing what Bush/Cheney was doing/did 2001-2008 in ways Bush was not able to do politically as polished — take Obama’s 2009-2012 WH dos and did nots and change out Obama’s name with Bush and then show this to the Obots/Dbots — they would likely condemn it — Obama is doing what no GOP POTUS could do/get done post Bush/Cheney while the O/D zealots and LO2E political simpletons succumb to backing Obama.
Come 2016? Jeb Bush ( a #3 Bush WH? sheesh… ) may be slotted by 1% PTBs to win the WH so G.W.Bush and B.H.Obama will see/get no justice/jail time about WCs.
Should H. Clinton somehow win WH in 2016 ( a Clinton WH again? sheesh…) the outcome would be/is still the same. Bush and Obama see no WCs justice and jail time. 99% get sold out again.
Bush and Obama get to stay on EZ St. post being POTUS with no WCs bad consequences allowed to get legally/politically close.Jeb and Hill will/would see to that.
Way past time to sweep out existing USA national politics and begin again. Doing so will take a 1776 moment showing up — the Bushs,Obama and the Clintons will not be leading it. Plain to see.
Dr. Maya Rockeymoore confronts Alan Simpson’s fraudulent claims that he is trying to save SS for youth.
“Selling Out America’s Youth: An Open Letter to Alan Simpson”.
(The rich just don’t want to pay their taxes.)
Well, this is happening all over the world.
All that propaganda in the 90s about increased globalization being so great failed to mention that it would be the middle-classes continuing to foot the bill.
Jeepers! I have found my second liberal enabler of the day.
Jonathan Cohn. First he admits raising the Medicare age to 67 is a bad idea, then he offers a chained CPI cut to Social Security as a Second Place award to conservatives who want to end both programs.
I read it HERE.
I understand that folks have many issues which they are concerned about, but the chained CPI has been criticized here for the last three years as a significant cut to Social Security benefits. How lazy was it of Jonathan to offer same at this time?
you can even go back B Clinton finshing what George H Bush could not do, geting NAFTA through congress and doubling down with GATT
Dear President Obama and Speaker Boner (I could not help it) here is a better idea and you don’t need to up taxes or cut SS Meidcare just need some balls; you know the trillions the Fed prints up each to give to the crooks on Wall st? Just take some of that money for the debt and some to get jobs going again! What is that you say? Jamie, Brian and Lloyd might not like it? Well I guess you guys have no nuts!
how much is enough?
